"Dartanian, miss," Dartanian responded easily. He gave an anxious glance in Kayani's direction. Would the white mare be afraid to give another mare her name? He shifted his weight from his right side to his left side as he waitd, hoping that she wouldn't give a snappish reply like she did to Revolution. Revolution didn't really care, but all other equines weren't the same as Revolution.
He looked at Kayani, his eyes pleading for her to simply respond. His heart soared when she looked at him and gave a nod; that was the exact thing that Alizay would've done in this situation to tell him that she was going to be fine and that she wouldn't do anything too rash in this position.
"Kayani," Kayani responded firmly, although fear remained in her. She was scared, yes, but terror had awoken something else in her -- courage. She wouldn't show her fear willingly to other equines if she could help it. Most would take advantage of her if she knew how scared she was and so she simply decided on not showing them at all how frightened she was.
They just kept coming, didn't they? Nervously, Kayani looked around, hoping that no more equines would come to ask her for her dubbance. Her tail brushed briefly over her hindquarters as she attempted to surpress the feeling inside her that made her want to just dash away from the scene.

Dance nodded looking into Kayani's pale azure eyes, Dance's eyes just a shade darker than Kayani's. She saw that Kayani was a bit scared, but Dance guessed that others couldn't see it, that Kayani was hiding the fact that she was scared. "Alright then", Dance could tell Kayani was uncomfortable around all equines, exept Dartanian. "I guess I'll go", she said, then gave Re a look that maybe he should go if Kayani was uncomortable.

"Where d'ya come from, Dart?" Revolution asked the blood bay stallion, oblivious to the fact that Dance sent him a glance. He was interested in getting to know the stallion to see if they could be friends perhaps. He tilted his head as he waited for the stallion's answer and looked at the mare, wondering why she appeared so anxious.
Dartanian again winced at the sound of his new nickname that Revolution gave him but all the same responded politely, "I cannot pinpoint the exact location of where I was born into this world, but I do know that I was born underneath free skies and in a meadow filled with lush grass that soon succumbed to the lake that brushed up against the meadow."
Revolution blinked, staring back at the stallion, mystified at the vast vocabulary that he spoke in. Deciding not to say anything about it, Revolution replied quickly, "I'm from Oka-la-homa as my mother told me." He dipped his head politely towards Kayani. "And may I ask where are you from?"
"I'm from... to tell the truth, I'm not sure," Kayani responded to the stallion's question, confidence growing within her. If the stallion showed any sign of harming her, she would be ready. She also felt that she could completely trust Dartanian, even though she had only known him for a while. Something in him -- in his eyes, maybe? -- made her just trust him. "Underneath the stars and the freedom of the land," Kayani added.

Adrianna dipped her head in greeting and said, "Adrianna." She looked the stallion over for a moment. "Who're you?" She didn't mean it if it came out blunt or rude, but that was just how it sounded. She watched as both Rev and Dance left, her eyes still sparkling at the beauty of her naming. Those were words to live by, Adrianna thought, and she figured if she hadn't done so now, it was never too late to start. She focused back on the stallion, her ears flicking back as a fly landed on one.

Dance flicked her ears toward a sound in the distance. She lifted her finely shaped head, and flared her nostrils, to find the scent of a stallion. She trotted in the direction and soon found a stallion. He was quite handsome, considering his height, with nice white socks and blaze, and a good bay color. "Hello", she whinnied to the stallion. "Whats your name? Mine is Dance", she said, politely dipping her head, letting long wavy tresses of silver-white mane and forelock fall over her light azure eyes. her white stockings on her two front legs shone in the sunlight.

Icefires eyes glowed with happieness as Adrianna told him her name. "What a beautiful name", he complimented, not just because he liked the mare, but he thought it was a rather pretty name. "I am Icefire, and Dance is my sister. I know, we look nothing alike, only our manes." He said, looking fondly at his sister for a moment. They did look almost nothing alike, because Icefire had a muscular build, and a dazzling snow white pelt, and Dance had a smaller, more elegant frame, but the same long wavy silvery white mane. He wondered if the beautiful chestnut mare felt the same way about him as he felt about her. No, she couldn't. This was love at first sight to him, surely she couldn't have fallen in love with him also, or could she?

"Thanks for the compliment. Your sister, eh?" Adrianna whinnied. She glanced back at the mare she had just met, watching as she approached another stallion. "I can't really see that." Her shoulder shivered as the fly that had attacked her ears went for her again. "But if you say you're siblings, I'll believe you." She stayed silent for a moment, just long enough to flick her head around and nip at the fly on her shoulder. "Dance said her mom named her so she'd keep dancing. What about you Icefire? Anything special with your naming?"

"Well", he began, narrowing his eyes slightly to try to remember. "I guess I'm not really sure" Icefire liked his name, but he wasn't sure what it meant. "So, does your name have a special meaning?" He asked.

Adrianna thought for a moment. "Nope, I don't think so..." she said after a second or two more of thought. "I think my dam said something about a human that she used to see hanging out nearby, but that might've just been a story." Adrianna grinned. "Yep, that was just a story. My name's just my name. So, are you from around here?"

I always wondered what I was. Who I was. What my purpose in life was. Was I just some wandering soul, always living in the darkness in which no sun or light could penetrate? Was that how it was? I didn’t understand.
The small, elegant frame of an equine sauntered about, her mind deep in wonder. Leaves rustled gently on the trees, shielding her from the worst effects of the sunshine. The light that managed to infiltrate the shield of leaves shone on her coat in splotches like broken glass. She brushed her long tail over her hindquarters briefly to relieve herself momentarily from the bugs tormenting her.
No, I'm not one of those equines that have sob stories. Frankly, I'm a bit sick and tired of those types of tales to tell. It gets annoying having to always pity them and give them sympathy.
The mare was sweet tempered and good-natured although certain circumstances could make her quite frustrated and agitated. She was a quiet sort of equine -- not relishing in learning the pains and weaknesses of other equines. The equine was light at heart and lithe in build. Mustang blood ran through her veins, causing her looks to become reality. She wasn't of royal blood, but you couldn't quite tell at just a glance. She carried her finely shaped head high and her posture was always in a position that suggested a high level of self-esteem. The equine wasn't vain for matters that she didn't like to discuss, but she was rather proud of herself -- a trick she had learned a long time ago.
I admit, I can get agitated easily. That's because I hate it when other equines take pity on me just because darkness will shroud me forever. I don't need their pity to remind me of my position. There are times when I've pictured almost all of my surroundings in my mind and they come and surround me and coo at me, trying to supposedly "soothe" me. Well, I tell you what. I don't need cooing. I'm an independent and free soul just like all of you are.
Moving past the shade and into the sunlight, the mare paused for a moment. She flared her nostrils for a few moments, trying to determine the sent she felt currently. As she stood there, her raven colored coat soaked up the rays of the sunshine, causing her to become warm. Finally, she moved out of discomfort to go follow the source of the scent.
Unseeing brown colored eyes remained fixed in a single gaze, never to move again. They were clouded slightly, but other than that, you would've thought that her eyesight was perfectly fine. Well, it wasn't. She had been, in truth, blind since birth and she didn't see how she could ever get her sight back.
Yeah, well... Don't try to take advantage of me. I can still find love on my own. I can still live on my own. I can still be myself... ...On my own.

"Yes", Icefire whinnied to the mare. "I was born under that cherry tree", he said, gesturing to a cherry tree with his long plume of a tail. "My mother said I should carry out the tradition of being born here, or Dance. Have foals here, under that cherry tree..." He trailed off, thinking of what it would be like to start a family with Adrianna. If she ever fell in love with him. with the sun right above them, his coat shone more than it had earlier, and he seemed to almost glow, like the first snow in winter on a sunny day.

Adrianna gazed at the cherry tree. "That's beautiful," she said quietly. Her eyes misted over for a moment before she ruined the moment by saying, "My dam just birthed me. There were no nice places like that tree where I'm from. Just plains of grass and rocks." The chesnut looked around. "Are you as thirsty as I am?" she asked.

"Mmhm", Icefire realized how thirsty he was. "Here, I know a beautiful spring nearby. I'll show you if you want." He suggested, thinking it would be pretty romantic, and I was his favorite place to drink.

Adrianna thought for a moment. "Alright," she decided aloud. "S'long as we come back here afterwards. I want to get to know some of these other guys before they pass on through." She tossed her head as the fly from before landed on her forehead. "That darned thing!" she muttered crossly before grinning at Icefire. "Lead the way!" she said pleasantly.
