[ x ]Slytherin ~~ A soft breeze ruffled playfully with a sparkly green cloak, the sunshine thrusting its way through the lazy clouds, if felt warm on the young teenager girl. She blinked her brilliant blue eyes a few times; the day was fine, but of course a cloudy day could have been pleasant in her opinion too. Amelia brushed her silky black hair away from her face in a slow movement as she watched the Hogwart’s students crowd anxiously around Honeydukes, waving around their money. She sighed softly before taking a delicate sip from her smoothie, after a while she decided to use some of her own money and buy a few treats for later. She picked up her sequin green purse and got up. Amelia came from Hogwarts, a wizard school, where she was chosen to be a cunning Slytherin. Many asked why the Sorting Hat put her in that house but she never really replied, her two older brothers before her who had went to Hogwarts had been placed in Gryffindor. Strange as it seemed she didn’t exactly mind at all. She loved Defense Against Dark Arts classes, perhaps that was the reason she was a Slytherin? It was so very intriguing to learn about boggarts and werewolves; in her purse she had shrunk that class’s book into a small size so she could have it with her when she felt bored or wanted to have a quick read on her favorite subject. She was always so serene but on the inside she had a special secret. She spoke Parseltongue, the snake language, which was the reason she was in that certain house. No one no of course, not even her parents, knew about this, just the Sorting Hat. She was a very pretty young girl but indeed quiet unless she had something she wanted to say. She hadn’t any friends right now for they were all with their dance partners, she herself didn’t have anyone to go with and was feeling a little sad about it. Amelia’s glittering blue eyes flickered up to the Honeydukes sign as she wove her way through. She knew she had twenty galleons and fifteen Sickles, being rather wealthy for having her father and mother in such high positions at the Ministry Of Magic. They gave much of their pay to Amelia. “What to choose” she breathed as she gazed at the many treats; she glanced to her right to see a student from her school, he was wearing a lion on his cloak. Avery Chang, the young man was concentrating on the candy in front of him and had a slight look of frustration on his face. “Having a hard time choosing?” she asked, amusement lacing her melodic voice as she inquired. After a moment a smile played on her lips, “why don’t you try a chocolate frog?” she reached for one and showed it to him, “its fairly good.” She put it back into its pile and began to browse through the candy, trying to find some that would suit her tongue later when they would go back into Hogwarts. There was so much too choose from, no wonder Avery was having a hard time. i30.tinypic.com/2qdwhnq.pngi28.tinypic.com/opy8f6.pngi32.tinypic.com/255rz4j.png

Avery gave a shrug at the female's words, still deep in thought as he contemplated over which type of treat to get. Sure, the female's words were advice and a suggestion for him, but that just made it all the more harder for him to chose now that yet another choice had been added to the multiple ones he already had to attend to.
Still, as he raised his gaze from the shelves that all the candy was stored in, his eyes lingered briefly on the female who had spoken to him. Immediately, he recognized her -- Amelia -- as a Slytherin. A hardened look crossed his face; a Slytherin. Geez did he hate Slytherins. Being a Gryffindor was the most probable reason for this, but when it came to Slytherins and Avery... Well, things just didn't go right with them from the very beginning of it all.
He sure wasn't taking her suggestion; it was a Slytherin's suggestion and he wanted nothing to do with it. Grabbing a pack of licorice wands and another pack of Cockroach Clusters, Avery brought the two items to wait in line. The line went smoothly and quickly without any disruption, and soon he was at the head of the line. Dropping the two things he wished to purchase on the table, he reached his hand in to his pants pocket and grabbed a small handful of coins, bringing them up and opening his hand so that the coins lay in his palm. He looked up expectantly at the cashier to tell him the total. When she stated it, he gave a nod and drew out a combination of a few Sickles and Knuts and handed them over. In exchange, he received the two packs of candy in a bag. As he took the bag, he flashed a quick grin and gave a wink to the cashier, who responded with a roll of her eyes. With that, Avery was out of Honeydukes.
Avery looked around and began wandering around Hogsmeade, pausing frequently to stop and say a quick greeting to his friends, most of which already had a female clinging on to their arm. That was one thing that Avery was glad that he didn't have someone to go the dance with; he didn't want some girl always attatched to him and following him around everywhere he went. 'Flying solo' was one of the most cheesiest sayings you could use, but it was true for Avery. Usually. Most of the times. When he wasn't begging Serena for answers to certain homework problems.
Catching sight of Serena sitting nearby on bench in a more quiet part of the town, Avery also caught sight of someone sitting next to her. For a distinct moment, Avery's protective side flared in him and he was about to go over there and give Serena's companion a piece of his mind, but as he got closer, he saw that it was only Serena's friend, Loria. Relaxing and ridiculing himself in his mind at the fact that he had actually been protective over his sister for a few moments, Avery crossed through the icy pathway in a few long strides and slid in to a seat next to Serena.
"Hey, Loria," Avery said, flashing a quick grin and giving a nod in the direction of his sister's friend. Turning back to his sister, he cocked his head to the side for a moment. "You know, 'Rena, I think you're gettin' shorter by the day," he stated in a teasing tone. Avery prided himself in being a full head taller than Serena; one way of showing this was by resting his arm on her head.
--x
Serena had long since been over yelling at Avery and putting a... light hex on himm when he did something like this to taunt her. She had grown out of that stage; now she just simply humored Avery. "Yeah, whatever, Avery," she said, giving a shrug as she ducked her head out of the way to make Avery's arm fall.
It was a little bothersome that Avery's nickname for her was a name that dropped the 'se' of her name, but she had also dropped out of that habit of reminding him that her name had a full six letters in it instead of four. Even though Serena was normally a person who didn't like others looking at her art before it was finished, Avery was one exception to that rule since he always managed to look over her shoulder. Loria, of course, was another exception since she, too, was with the arts.
A chilly and icy wind ran through the rather deserted area of Honeydukes that they were all currently sitting in. Next to Serena, Avery shivered, but Serena remained perfectly fine, her expression calm and placid like she wasn't cold at all -- which she truly wasn't. Leaning down again, her hair, having been whipped out of her ponytail from the numerous large gusts of wind that blew on by, drapped over her neck and ran down to her waist.
Humming a quiet tune lightly, Serena continued to look over her drawing. She turned her pad this way and that, craning her neck to see if there was anything she could add. She knew that if she embellished the picture too much, it would look a little odd, but maybe just a little line over here... and one over there would make it just a hint more realistic. Amelia noticed, after he glanced up at her, that Avery immediately gave her the cold shoulder. “Gryffindors,” she muttered under her breath as she picked up some Chocolate Frogs and some Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans “they’re also so grumpy around me just because I’m a Slytherin,” she brought her items to the line and waited patiently. At last it was her turn, Amelia smiled and put her things on the counter, when the cashier said the total she reached into her purse and took out her money and handed it over. The teenage girl dipped her head and walked away with the candy, not wanting to be holding this small bag around she tucked it into her sequin green purse.
She gazed around, not sure what to do next, a sudden feeling of loneliness tugged at her when she saw her Slytherin friends hanging out with their dance partners. She stood in the middle of the busy street as she watched them then she realized she had to continue to walk. With a soft sigh she made her way across, her brilliant blue eyes were unfocused as she fallowed the dirt walkway, her gaze flickered up eventually and Amelia saw she was up next to the Shrieking Shack. She looked around to see that no one was even near where she was, there were down the hill and crowding around the other shops, her eyes flowed over to its blocked doors and windows.
The young girl reached forward a delicate finger and brought it slowly over the window, nothing happened, she brought it over the door, nothing happened. Suddenly it was very hard to believe that this was supposed to be a haunted shack, no matter, she felt a scaly sort of skin rub against her leg and she looked down to see a green serpent. Her eyes widened but she wasn’t afraid, “hello” she hissed softly. The snake stopped and slithered a little ways from her foot, a disappointed look crossings its eyes, it must have thought she was just an ordinary teenager that it could scare. It dipped its head in farewell before sliding into a little hole in the Shrieking Shack, her tongue felt odd for a moment before it wore off. The loneliness remained as she watched the people below.

"Hey, Avery," Loria said rather nonchalantly as she pulled out a notebook from a pocket she had sewn inside of her cloak for her notebook and drawing pad.
"Aria watched as the Thestrals ran around, one coming towards her. This was the first time she had seen one, and was amazed at how wonderful they are. As the small Thestral stepped cautiously to her, a wind whipped at her dark hair..." Loria mumbled as she wrote in her notebook. Currently. she was writing about a scared little girl who's mother had just dies, and always been babied over her whole life. She put the book away and looked up at Avery, wondering if he was looking over her shoulder at her writing. "Hey, do you two want to come with me to see a painting I did?" she asked to Serena and Avery. She knew Avery might not want to come, but Serena might. The painting she had just finished was of Dumbledor's Phoenix, and she had used watercolor paints in a rather good way, she thought. She was very good with colors, as well as the drawing itself, but she loved experimenting with paints, seeing what colors came out.

"Naw, I'm out of it, sorry. I'm just not in to all of this art-sy stuff," Avery responded, giving a shrug as he stood up. Patting Serena lightly on his head, he left his sister and her friend to whatever they had to do. "Bye!" he called over his shoulder, giving a slight circular motion with his hand to take the place of a wave.
With that, the male teenager made his way away from Hogmseade, each step taking him even deeper in to the barren land that surrounded the bustling and cheerful city. Outside in the outskirts of the village, everything was quiet and still. A few chattering voices could be heard nearby as a few couples stood holding hands or a bunch of friends were throwing snowballs at each other, but Avery soon left most of them behind.
Still, Avery detected sounds of human life nearby. Looking around, he saw another female sitting on a bench. She was obviously thinking; there was no doubt about that. Observing her from a distance, he notd the fact about her platinum blond hair. As he got slightly closer, he could see the emerald green eyes.
Well, well, well. Looks like this was a Slytherin. Nearing, Avery raised an eyebrow in interest. Perhaps he could do a little... taunting and teasing. As he walked even closer, he made the connection of who the girl was -- Mallory Skay. He didn't really know her all too well nor did she know him, but the fact that she was a Slytherin already made it a fact enough that he should go and make fun of her.
Maybe he should ask her out to the dance and just when she was about to accept, he would say 'nevermind' and then just walk away. Psssh, yeah; that would be hilarious. Still, he was still out of hearing range and he would half to get closer if he wanted to taunt her.
--x
Serena nodded as an acceptance to her friend's offer. "Sure," she responded in a soft voice, although her tone was bright. Flipping her drawing pad until it was closed, she stored it back in its rightful place. "Where is it?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, causing her hair to fall in the direction she cocked her head in, causing it to fall lightly over her right shoulder and down her back.
Lowering her upper body down to pick up her bag containing the dress she had believed to be absolutely perfect. It certainly was in her eyes; it had a perfect fit that clutched her small frame perfectly. The neck-line wasn't too low so that her parents would freak out when they learned that she had worn this dress, nor was it too high for a teenager's taste. After all, her parents were normally quite lenient.
For a moment, Serena's thoughts flitted to boys for a few seconds. It would be easy for Avery to acquire someone to go to the dance with; he simply just had to ask and everything would be already played and set out for him already. For her, however... Girls didn't ask boys, it was just way too weird. Still, Serena's self-consciousness level was rising as the ball neared and her self-esteem was slowly dispersing.

After a while, Amelia decided to head back, away from Hogsmead since there wasn't much to do now that she had finished her shopping. Inside a bag she was holding was a beautiful emerald green dress with the works that came with it, bows, shoes, etc. She hummed quietly to herself as she slipped out from the last bit of crowds and into the dull forest, her brilliant blue eyes glittered with interest as she heard the crackling of snow under-foot from something other than her feet. As she walked onward she saw Avery walking over to one of her Slytherin friends, her eyes narrowed slightly once she realized what he was going to do. She let out a faint hiss and blinked with surprise, she didn't normally do that, what if that happend in class? She would be dead, seriously.
Amelia turned her direction onto Mallory but stopped hidden behind a tree, she thought if she should just walk over once the taunting started or arrive over and stand ground next to her blond friend. She took a moment to decide what to do and eventually stepped out from behind the tree and made her way over to Mallory, though she quite a distance away from her. If only that Gryffindor could just put aside his ways of houses and just treat some of the Slytherins like he treats his Gryffindor friends. It took a minute to clear her head of these nasty thoughts because she didn't want to appear next to them and be scowling with hostility.
She brushed her silky black hair away from her face, a sudden burst of girly ways coming over her in a flash of horror. Avery may be a Gryffindor but he might still ask me to come to the dance! It would be so lovely and we would be unique because we are from totally different houses but we would be dancing together! Amelia's mind scrambled to get back in place, she'd be very giggly once she reached him if she couldn't stop this sudden blow of girly weirdness. At last she managed to control herself from this, erm, attack as she would probably say.

"It's in my room," Loria said as she stood up, a breeze picking up her blonde hair gently and putting it over her shoulders.. With a delicate hand she flipped it back onto her back, looking around to see even more couples walking around. She bent down and picked up a bag that held her perfect--or what she thought was perfect dress. It even fit her petite frame and rather curvy frame perfectly. It was rather hard to find dresses that fit her well, for she was rather slim, and a bit curvier than most girls, but she had found it today! Also, she had put the lemon drops in that bag also, and decided to take them out. "You want one?" she asked as she put one into her mouth, holding the brown paper bag out to her friend as she started walking towards Hogwartz.

Unaware of anyone else except him and Mallory, Avery moved forward to greet the female. "Good day, Miss Skay," Avery greeted her with an extra flourish of a rather odd bow. He flashed her one of his supposed "lady-killer" grins and gave her a large wink to emphasize that whatever he was trying to do wasn't a trick. He seated himself next to her and a delighted feeling bubbled within him when he saw her look up, completely surprised at the mention of her name by a Gryffindor.
Avery waited for Mallory to say something, but she just stared at him blankly, completely surprised at the fact that he, out of all the people in the world, was speaking to her. When she didn't say anything, he just decided to continue on with the little plot he had devised up in his mind in just a few seconds.
"Well, Mallory, my dear," Avery said in a smooth tone, leaning back and putting his arm around her shoulders and hugging her towards him. Inside, his insides wrenched at the fact that he was with a Slytherin, but it was all in good fun. If his friends saw him now, they'd think him absolutely deranged, but if this whole entire thing succeeded, he would have a delightful little tale to tell his roomates back in his dormitory.
Still no response as she just looked at him, her platinum blond hair brushing lightly across her face. She looked so innocent... Avery couldn't do it. She seemed so... non-Slytherin. But as he locked eyes with her own emerald green ones, the eye color immediately startled him back to the fact that she was in Slytherin.
"I was wondering if you'd like to accompany me to the dance that's going to be held for the choosing of the Tri-Wizard champions for each house," Avery asked, trying to be as gentlemanly as he could do get Mallory to somehow resopnd a 'yes' to his invitation. He didn't know how she would reacct.
--x
One of the most popular males of Gryffindor house. Probably one of the most handsome in the whole entire school of Hogwarts. Serena, a Ravenclaw's, brother. Thoughts flitted about through Mallory's head as she tried to process the words that Avery spoke to her with. He wanted to ask her, out of all people, to the dance?
Even though emotions were currently buzzing about nervously and anxiously through Mallory's mind, she didn't let them show on to her face as she looked at Avery, observing him for a few long moments before she opened her mouth to respond. When she did so, her mouth was dry and no sound was able to be uttered from it except the slight noise of something that sounded somewhat like a croak.
Embarrassed, a rich scarlet colored blush immediately spread through Mallory as she tore her eyes away from his gaze, standing out quite bluntly against her pale and almost snowy-white skin complexion. Mallory looked down to the ground and biting her lip firmly, almost drawing blood as her cheeks warmed with the bright crimson color.
"I-I-I... um..." Mallory stammered out, her mind completely blank for words to say. Accept, accept! Should she? Would her friends shun her if she did, saying that she was trying to be higher and acquire more social power by going with Avery to the dance? They had all managed to get another Slytherin for someone to go with. Sure, one or two of them had gotten someone to go with outside of Slytherin, but those were maybe a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw -- not a Gryffindor.
This was way too much for her; it felt like walls were closing in on her, trapping her of air and of every small, lingering freedom that she still had, being a Slytherin and all. "I-" Mallory cut herself off, standing up and turning, running away from Avery and through the barren and empty wild part of the scenery that surrounded Hogsmeade. She hadn't gone too far in to the place around Hogsmeade; just a little farther through the outskirts.
--x
"We're not supposed to go back without certain supervision," Serena stated, confusion entering her exotically colored pale violet eyes as she looked at her friend. Surely her friend knew that, being experienced with the ways of Hogwarts rules and the like. She tilted her head to the side, a single, delicate eyebrow arched as she looked at her friend.
"Sure," the Ravenclaw female responded with a nod to the question of if she wanted a lemon drop or not. Reaching her hand in the bag, she took out a single piece of the candy and stuck it in to her mouth. She sucked it lightly, letting the taste rise in her mouth. A content look washed over Serena's placid expression on her face as she awaited her friend's answer.
Meanwhile, Serena looked around, wondering where her brother had gone off to. She gave a mental shrug; Avery was always unpredictable in what he would do next. There were times when he would just randomly pop up here and there and surprise and scare the heck out of people. This didn't always cause the best starts to relationships with other people for Avery, but things usually worked out all right. Usually.

"How could you do that to her?" Amelia cried to him, her blue eyes were furious, and her fist clenched suddenly. "Not all Slytherins are bad, you good for nothing, idiotic boy!" she glanced to the area where Mallory disappeared. She herself wasn't bad at all-- or so she thought she wasn't. "Don't you know that you just left a scar? That she will remember in years beyond this time?" her voice was growing softer, into a sort of hateful way. Amelia's black hair blew behind her, kissing her face every so often, it looked like it was trying to calm her down. Instead her eyes narrowed dangerously.
"I can't believe it! You think that once you go to your snobby little friends telling them that you hurt a teenage girl that is no different than you, that you will be honored? Just because her house is Slytherin?" she paused to take a choking breath of air, "that you will be some sort of hero? No you aren't! You are far from it!" Amelia suddenly collasped onto the bench, her eyes shown a battle of anger and sadness. "Can't you understand how she must feel after what you've just done?" she asked quietly, almost too quietly to hear, "I know I do" she added softly.
Tears welled in her eyes from one of the two emotions cracking within, she herself didn't know which one but she blinked them away. Amelia'd gaze flickering to anything but Avery, her anger was charged from her sadness. "I thought you were supposed to be a nice guy...a person who knew what was right and wrong..." finally her glittering blue eyes rested on his own, there was nothing more she could say. She broke her gaze away from his and focused them on her green cloak.

Great. And now some girl was yelling at him, as if he weren't ashamed enough already. "It's not my fault; she herself chose to leave. If you think I'm just oh such a nice guy as you put it, then why do you think that maybe I just asked her because I wanted to ask her?" Avery retorted angrily. Standing up and shaking his head out of frustration, the Gryffindor began walking in the direction of Hogsmeade and towards his friends.
Why couldn't girls just leave him alone? Why was it that when he did something, a whole gang of them or at least one person that had a voice loud enough to act in place for a whole group had to just come and start screaming at him at the top of their lungs? Why couldn't people just leave him alone every once in a while?
Moving forward at an even brisker pace, Avery found himself back in to the joyful hustle and bustle that rumbled around Hogsmeade. He needed to find his friends; at least the ones that were of the male gender. His sister wasn't probably going to help him in this situation. Actually, no female would actually understand what he had done.
--x
What should she do? Fear clouded in to the female's large, brilliantly bright emerald green colored eyes as she peeked out from behind a tree she had run behind. She saw Avery stand up and shake his head in a rather annoyed form, walking away, each stride he made having some sense of indignation embedded within them.
This was too much; had he actually wanted to ask her out? Had she basically just given up the chance to have a boy ask her to the dance? Immediately, the blush that had spread across her face died out and her extremely pale skin complexion was restored. Still, the blush didn't go without putting another emotion on her face -- this was an emotion of absolute sadness and depression.
An icy and bitter wind blew by, whipping Mallory's almost white blond hair around in different directions. Still, her large amount of hair didn't cover up the expression written plainly across her face. Her face was a mixture of complete and utter cacophony as she struggled to remain her normal, uncaring composure and demeanor. It wasn't easy -- Mallory wasn't able to pull it off.
A single, crystalline tear slid down her cheek. Soon, more came to follow until they came out like a torrent, the equivalent of her crying.

"I know, I-" Loria cut off, her eyes darting in the direction of a...crying sound in the distance. Loria had good hearing, better than the average teenager. She walked quickly over to the sound, coming from behind a tree. It was...what was her name? Mallory, from the Slythering house. Loria didn't really care about what house a person was from. "Are you alright?" she asked softly, her eyes clouded with confusion of why the girl was crying, when the whole town was happy with the talk of the dance. Maybe she had asked someone and they had said no, or already had someone to go with. "By the way, I'm Loria Raden, from Ravenclaw. You're Mallory, right?" she told and asked the girl, her pale blonde hair waving around wildly as the wind whipped by.

Amelia got to her feet, running toward him, dodging through the busy street to get by his side. He was just going to run away? After what he did? How rude was that? Her sparkly black hair blew behind her as she finally reached him, "aren't you going to at least say sorry?" she growled angrily once she reached him. What was the first three letters of Slytherin? 'S' 'l' 'y' which spelled sly, and that was how she was going to be if he wasn't going to apologize. "Do you want me to tell everyone what you did?" she asked silkily, her gleaming blue eyes gazing into his brown ones, "all your buddies won't be laughing once they hear it from me. They'll think you're just plain horrible." As if breaking from a trance Amelia took in a sharp breath, almost hissing with surprise.
It took a few minutes to realize what she just said, would she really do that? Or would she just tell the Slytherins to add on to their loathing for the Gryffindors. She herself didn't think houses really mattered but then again, others did such as Avery. She wanted to speak some more of her mind to him but forced herself to hold it in, it took a lot but she thought it was best--for now that is. Amelia gave him a hard side-glance, forcing the girly side of her into the pit of darkness in her mind.

The female lifted her head from her rather moping position. Hurt crossed her face as she replayed the image of Avery walking away from the spot that she had run away from, but she tried to remain as if she hadn't a care in the world about what happened. Mallory wasn't the type to like others pitying her; that's why she didn't enjoy having her emotions show across her face and in her eyes, although it was a rather difficult thing to do.
"Yeah, it's Mallory," the female said with a nod in response to the Ravenclaw's words. She gave a slight shrug to answer the question if she was all right or not and added a vebal answer as well. "I'll be all right; I won't die. There's no need. I'll be fine, it really doesn't matter," she said, giving another shrug. As she did so, it felt as if a great weight had been put upon her shoulders, making it rather hard and causing her posture to fall from its normal relatively good posture to a slumped and hunched down position.
Blinking her eyes rapidly against the bitter cold winds that blew on through, Mallory watched as the first, few icy flakes of snow began drifting down from the sky, descending in their each and individual patterns, the slightest bit of a breeze causing them to flutter about elegantly for a while before they managed to fall on to the ground.
The teenager's tears dried slightly and they stopped coming down in a large flood. Shaking her head somewhat as if to try to rid herself of the large black cloud of doom that had figuratively come to gather over her head, she looked back up at the sky and pretended to be absolutely captivated by the pathways that the snow was taking to fall down so that she didn't have to answer any questions.
--x
"You know what?" Avery called over his shoulder, frustration and rage flashing through his eyes as he halted for a few moments in his walk back to the more commercial and busy part of Hogsmeade. "Why don't you go tell her that I'm waiting for her answer if she'll go to the dance with me -- I'll gladly go with her!"
The words were out. He had said that he'd just gladly go with a Slytherin to the dance. Oh, lord, a Slytherin. Still, Avery had too much pride and dignity to go back on any words that came out of his mouth. Continuing to walk away, he looked around. Should he tell his friends? No, they would ridicule him and maybe even shun him from their little group.
Without even taking a second glance back, Avery made his way into the Three Broomsticks, an extremely crowded place. Sitting at a table, soon being joined by a few of his friends, he ordered a Butterbeer and sat down, enjoying the warmth that flooded into him. Even though he was now trading jokes and words with his friends and was having a perfectly wonderful time, Avery still couldn't get rid of the slight akward feeling in the back of his mind about Mallory. A Slytherin.
--x
Serena looked up, watching as her friend went over to go speak with someone who was looking rather... down. No, not just down... Utterly depressed and displeased with herself. Concern flitted about in Serena's pale violet colored eyes. As she got closer, she noted the fact that the female had a full head of extremely blond hair -- so blond that it almost seemed white in the glare of the clouds overhead. As little drops of wetness landed on her long eyelashes, Serena looked up and immediately recognized the substance as snow. For a brief moment, her mind wandered and imagined about walking around these streets of Hogsmeade with some boy while the beginnings of snow were just fluttering down lightly. A slight blush came to her face, but when there was someone in need of comforting and soothing, Serena tried not to let her own thoughts and emotions disrupt her from whatever she had to do.
Walking over to Loria and the female, -- Mallory, wasn't it? -- Serena looked at the Slytherin with an extremely placid and docile look on her face as she looked at Mallory. She didn't say anything; she just slid her arm around Mallory's shoulders. She wasn't well acquainted with the female nor did she know what was wrong with her, but Serena's ways of comforting others in their state of grief didn't use words.

A petite figure sat perched on a bench, a wild wind whipping a tendrils of obsidian hair that came down to the middle Gryffindor female's back. Odd and exotic tawny colored eyes ringed with black eyeliner surveyed the Hogsmeade town, some people walking alone, some in large groups, and some in couples, cooing at each other. Some males were working up the courage to ask girls to the ball, walking a bit behind them, then stopping, then going up again.
The female was pretty much your average teenager. She always fought for herself, and was pretty strong, inside and out. She was rather pretty, with unusual tawny colored eyes and black hair that came down to the middle of her back, and bangs that were usually side swept, usually covering one of her exotically colored eyes. She had a pretty short temper, though, and wasn't exactly patient, but no one can be perfect, right?
Currently, she was wearing a pair of jeans and a white silk tank top, all under an indigo cloak, embroidered with swirly designs of a gold color at the edges
She also loved animals, such as Hypogriffs and Phoenix's, but since she couldn't have those as pets, she had a mouse named Moonstep. She wanted to get a cat also, but wasn't too sure.
The girls name was Rose. Not a name to match her stand-out-ness, but a pretty name indeed.

Amelia's brilliant blue eyes grew hard, "why would I tell her yes when you just did that?" she yelled after him. Usually she didn't get angry but now, well, she really was. The teenage girl stood in the busy street, watching as Avery slipped into The Three Broomsticks without another word. After a minute or or two Amelia walked away, her shoes putting delicate foot prints into the light snow. Avery could get so annoying! Yet at the same time he could be really sweet---sweet to anyone but Slytherins! Yes she admitted that her friends scratched and hissed at the Gryffindors. It wasn't her fault that she was placed in a house just because she spoke Parseltongue! Perhaps there was another reason she was supposed to be in Slytherin, her love for Denfense Againast Dark Arts classed and Potions? Okay, maybe that also hinted.
The beautiful teenage girl sat down on a bench, the soft, gentle breeze blowing her hair in an airy manner. Her azure eyes glittered with a sort of longing as she watched the students with dance partners trudge along, talking excitedly to one another. Amelia shook her head ever so slightly before looking at her purse, which she picked up and counted the last few coins she had left. It was a decent amount, she put them away before she reached for her Defense Against Dark Arts book. Amelia glanced at the place where Avery disappeared then began to read from her book.
