Mallory liked people better when they were able to laugh at themselves and point out their own flaws instead of waiting for others to point them out and then taking offense over it. She did have to admire the guy; she was a Slytherin, first of all, and she had only just met him -- and yet he was still acting relatively warm and friendly.
She couldn't help but smile at his remarks. "What do you happen to have in mind if I do chose to sing?" she asked cautiously.

Theo gave a small laugh, and replied, "Well, maybe...Check Yes Juliet By We The Kings? Or Love Song, By Sarah (can't spell the last name. xDDDDD). "Maybe...If you did sing, we...could do a duet on my guitar or piano?" Theo suggested, giving yet another shrug.

{ OoC-- Sara Bareilles? x3 }
Mallory tilted her head to the side as she considered the two song choices he gave to her for a few moments. The two were decent songs; she had them on her iPod, but she only used her iPod when she was in the Muggle world -- it would just be too... weird if she took it out and used it here during Hogwarts, even if it were during Hogsmeade trips.
"It's an idea," Mallory said with a shrug. "If I sing here by myself, however, do you promise to play me something on the guitar or on the piano some time if you get the chance?" she asked. In her own way, she was somewhat bargaining for her singing -- it was as if she was holding a price for it.

OoC--;; {Yessur}
Theo took a comical look of contemplation, though he really did want to play for Mallory; he loved performing. "You drive a hard bargain, ma'am," he said, obviously joking. "But sure, I'll play something for you in exchange for your singing." He looked intently at Mallory, waiting for her singing.

Even though Mallory still felt a little anxious and nervous about singing in front of Theo, he did seem kind and willing to listen to her sing. Anticipation fluttered around through her stomach as she gave a few swallows and moistened her dry mouth as her mind thought over the different assortment of songs that were possible for her to sing. She had to chose the right song -- if she chose a dorky song, he would probably be too polite to make snide comments and laugh, but she knew that he wouldn't be all too pleased. If she chose a song that was too forward... well, that was just something she herself was afraid of. Finally, Mallory decided on one, and with deliverance, began the chorus of "Love Song," a song written by Sara Bareilles.
"I'm not gonna write you a love song 'cause you asked for it, 'cause you need one, you see. I'm not gonna write you a love song 'cause you tell me it's make or break in this, if you're on your way. I'm not gonna write you to stay if all you have is leaving. I'm gonna need a better reason to write you a love song today," Mallory sang in a light and airy tone. Her voice faded as she finished the last word of the chorus; she wasn't quite sure how well she had sang, although she had tried.

Theo burst out in a comical movement of whooping and cheering. "And lets give it up for the lovely, talented, Miss Mallory!" he said loudly, clapping and smiling. This was Theo's regular personality, usually joking around like this. But he really thought Mallory was good. "That was pretty good," he said, giving a nod. "So, when do you wanna hear my piano?"

Mallory couldn't help it -- she give a slight laugh at Theo's enthusiastic reacction to her singing. Not liking the subject of her singing to be pondered upon for any longer than it had to be thought about, she welcomed the change in subject to Theo's piano playing. "I don't know. Anytime you want; anytime I can find a way to get out of my dormitory or something. Unless... what house are you in?" she asked, all of a sudden wondering of the fact. Surely he wasn't in Slytherin; she hadn't seen him anywhere in the Slytherin house. Then again, Mallory hadn't always been the most observant.

"Er, Gryffindor. You're in Slytherin, right?" Theo said akwardly, remembering that he had seem Mallory with some friends in Slytherin, and that Gryffindor and Slytherin have been enemies since...well, forever. He looked at her, his cheeks burning now.

Two Gryffindors in one day. Geez, Mal', you've been attracting enemy house members to talk to lately! Mallory thought to herself, giving a mental shrug. "Yeah, I'm in... er... Slytherin," she responded in a quiet tone of voice, all of a sudden becoming rather reserved and shy again now that she knew that Theo as a Gryffindor.
"I haven't had a good experience with Gryffindors lately," she muttered more to herself than to Theo, shaking her head.

Jonas gave Avery a curious look. "That's cool," he said slowly. Suddenly he grinned. "She single?" He had meant it as a joke, but he figured if she was single, he didn't lose, did he?
But why would Avery tell him about a girl if he said she was pretty? Maybe this Mallory girl was related to him or something and he wanted her to have a date. Whatever the reason, Jonas waited for Avery's answer.

Avery opened his mouth to answer, but was cut off by a familiar voice speaking behind him. "No, she's not single!" the voice exclaimed with a harsh tone in it. Avery rolled his eyes before turning around to face the angry face of his sister glaring up at him. Giving a shrug, he turned back to Jonas to introduce his sister to him.
"This is Serena. My sister. My little sister, to be exact," Avery muttered to Jonas, gesturing towards his sister with a slight nod. "Serena, meet Jonas. He's a Hufflepuff. You've always liked Hufflepuffs. You've always thought that the name of their house was cute, didn't you? Huffle-y puffle-y, hmm?" he said, adressing his sister with a placid and calm expression on his face. Being a sibling of Serena, Avery had already faced years of her when she got angry.
"You -- you horrible, horrible person, Avery! Don't try sweet talking me out of this! How could you do that to Mallory? She's off sobbing her heart out because of the fact that your... your... your idiotic mind and your idiot self decided to try to impress your little Gryffindor friends!" Serena threw at Avery, pure frustration against him passing through her pale violet eyes. "And you!" She whirled around to face Jonas, failing to note the fact that Avery had said that he was a Hufflepuff. "You're probably one of Avery's Gryffindor friends and you're probably just delighting over what Avery did to Mallory!"

Loria walked over to Avery and a Hufflepuff she recignized as Jonas. "Hey, Avery," she said cauciosly as she saw how Serena was yelling at him. "Serena, I think you can leave him alone for now, she seems to be getting along jus fine with some other Gryffindor," she whispered to her friend, hoping not to get yelled at as well.
Theo looked at the ground awkwardly scuffing his shoe in the dirt. "Um, it's okay with me that you're a Slytherin. You're really nice, and I bet not all Slytherins are as bad as everyone says," he said more calmly.

"So? It's probably just another one of Avery's friends who's a back up for him!" Serena hissed, not taking her eyes off of Avery or his little friend. She stood where she was, so that showed that her mood had mellowed -- slightly. Very slightly. She fought off the urge to kick Avery in the shins, a thing she had used to do when they were seated at the dinner table and he did something wrong.
"How could you, Avery. Just how on earth could you?" Serena murmured. Despite the soft tone of her voice, it was strained with the harsh amount of anger she still carried with her as she continued staring at her brother and his friend with a venemous glare. She knew that her wand was there and she could easily preform a hex on them. It was tempting...
No. She couldn't take drastic measures like that. Yes, she could resort to yelling at him, but hexing Avery and this person she didn't even know? Not exactly the best decision for her to make, and even through her anger, Serena managed to mantain a slight, clear section of her mind.
A cold gust of wind played with Serena's ebony black hair for a few moments before passing on towards the rest of Hogsmeade. Serena stood there, glaring at her brother and this person with him -- Jonas was his name, Avery had said, right?
After sending back a quick greeting and a slight flash of a smile to Loria, Avery's gaze shifted back to Jonas. "Don't mind her. 'Rena's got a fiery temper, you can see. I know this must be akward for you, sorry," he muttered as he gave a side glance to Serena. Seeing her calming down a bit but still extremely frustrated at him, he let out a low groan. This would take a while.
"Look, 'Rena, I'm sorry for everything that I did, but I did say that she could come and respond if she wanted to go with me or not. It's her decision; I have no control over what she says," Avery responded with a tone that hinted at common sense as he shrugged.

"Not everyone thinks like that," Mallory murmured quietly as she looked down at the ground, her platinum blond hair slipping forward and veiling her head in a sea of white-blonde. "There are a lot of those in your house who absolutely despise Slytherins."

"Er, right," Loria said disbelievingly as she rolled her eyes. "So, do you still want to see my new painting of Fawkes later when we get back?" she asked, wanting to make Serena more cheerful. "Hi," she said to the Hufflepuff, Jonas, as she gave a small wave.
"Yeah, I know, but some guys in Gryffindor can be rea jerks," Theo replied lightly. "I mean, I sometimes think that way when I see some of the Slytherins, but you're not like that, you're nice." Theo looked at Mallory, a truthful glint in his sky blue eyes.

"Sure, that's fine with me," Serena responded in a quiet tone, finally calming down, although she continued to glare at Avery. Giving a slight shrug and shaking her head yet again like an exassperated person, -- and Serena was exassperated -- Serena untied her hair from its loose ponytail, allowing the wind to play and toy around with it as it wished.
This was all confusing, so frustrating, and when things were like that... well, Serena wasn't exactly particularly happy at that fact.

"What do Gryffindors see bad in Slytherins?" Mallory murmured softly, looking up at the sky with a thoughtful expression. After a bit more of contemplating over the subject, she added another thought. "What do Slytherins see bad in Gryffindors?" It was strange, this business of rivalry between two different houses in the school of Hogwarts.
