Taylor looked at Drew, thinking him to be quite handsome, but she knew he was falling for Rory. She wondered if a boy would ever care for her that way. She sighed, her usual thoughtful and dreamy expression coming onto her features as she stared off.
Skye turned her elegant neck and gave Taylor a little nip, to bring her back form her daydreaming. Taylor jumped a bit, but relaxed as it was only Skye. "Sorry, I have to go, but maybe we can ride together sometime?" Taylor didn't comfort Drew, because she thought it would be a bit awkward because she didn't really know him that well. "And, sorry, Drew. Drew Anderson." Taylor had a habit of saying people's last names when she first met them. And she didn't want to ask Drew what was wrong, because it would only make things worse. She gave a truly sympathetic look to Drew and walked on with Skye, letting her turn whichever way.
She soon came to a boy who looked a bit like Drew. "Um, hi. I'm Taylor. What's your name?" She looked at him, wondering if both the horses in the pasture were his. "Are both of those horses yours?"

"Drew?" Rory murmured softly after Taylor had left. He had been looking in a different direction and it was getting a little akward now. Her hand remained atop of his as she continued to look at Drew. Her head remained tilted at an angle slightly as she awaited Drew's return from looking over to goodness knows where.
Where was he looking? Peeking over his shoulder, she saw nothing but an empty pasture with a white, wooden picket fence closing up the grassy enclosure. "I didn't know that pastures were so interesting," Rory said with a faintly amused tone in her voice, laughter sparkling in her pale lilaceous colored eyes as she saw Drew give a start as her voice cut in with a lilting tone. The half-smile she had had on her lips before had increased in size, now becoming a full smile.
Hoping that Drew was out of his state of sadness for one of his family members dying in the equestrian event known as racing, Rory continued to smile at the back of Drew's head, waiting for him to turn around so that she could see his face for a change instead of his copper curls that were in need of a good brushing.
--x
Drew turned around, summoning up his courage as he did so. He saw that Rory's smile had widened when he refused to meet her gaze with his eyes out of shyness and simply studied the rest of her face except her exotically colored eyes. Looking down at his hand, he saw that her hand, smaller and more gentle-looking, remained on top of his. His hand tingled slightly at her touch; he never wanted to wash that hand ever again.
"Do you want to go on a trail with me?" he blurted out suddenly in question form. He was surprised at his boldness; he couldn't even look at the girl yet he had just asked her to go on a trail ride with her? Goodness; how would he be able to survive the whole trail without causing Layke to run into a tree as he was trying to avert having to meet Rory's gaze?
His heart warmed even more towards Rory as she gave him an even more brilliant smile. As soon as he had heard the word "sure" uttered from her lips, he immediately nudged Layke into a slow paced walk. Looking down to his left, he saw that Sariae was moving along as well. Interesting; the Lipizzaner mare hadn't even been given any directions from Rory and the mare had walked. It was almost as if the equine understood what he was saying.
--x
"It's Taye. It's ain't a girl's name, so no laughin'," Taye responded, his tone not unkind. He turned his head for a moment to survey the other various pastures and meadows that were owned by the stable. In one of the lush meadows dotted with splashes of colorful flowers, he saw a female with a full head of hair that gleamed a honey-brown color in the sunlight listening to her iPod. His gaze lingered on her for a brief moment, interest passing through them, before he returned his attention back to Taylor.
"No, both of them ain't mine," Taye responded to her latter question. He paused for a moment as Terra trotted up to him, a nicker in greeting to Taylor since she had already greeted Taye earlier. "Only Terra -- this palomino mare right here -- is mine. I don't exactly have 'nough money to be buyin' another 'orse," he added.

"Mmm," Taylor responded, following Taye's gaze to the girl sitting in the field. "You play any instrumenst? I play guitar," she said. She got an amused look in her chocolate brown eyes as Taye looked at the girl with interest. Maybe he liked her. "I wish I had a horse. I'm going to buy Skye, right here, but I still need 300 dollars to buy her. [Blackie, can you not really close off Drew and Rory to another world and not have Drew obsess over her please?]

Supposed to be brown eyes. ;3i1.tinypic.com/85wohms.pngi15.tinypic.com/6kgb5oz.pngi18.tinypic.com/81yx07t.png“They’re marvelous. Father? Are we going to get one?” a soft, feminine voice spoke; two brown eyes glittered with longing as she watched the horses at the stable. Alicia didn’t know anything on what to exactly call them or their owners but she felt this glow in her chest as she watched them interact with one another. She blinked warmly, her delicate finger twirling her light brown hair in a slow manner. After a moment, she glanced back at her father. He was watching the horses too, a thoughtful look in his own eyes and continence. Suddenly a spark of hope twinkled in her heart, was he considering? She knew that since her mother died that he had been even more protective over his daughter. The young teenager turned her glittering eyes turned the place before her, two other teenage girls and a boy was riding away on their horses. She longed to ride along with them, even if she was too shy to actually submit her words to their conversation.
Finally her father murmured, “yes, my dearest.” Alicia hugged him in her thank you then after a small dip of her head walked gracefully over to the stable. She glanced at the three others, curiosity roused within her as she took in their facial appearances and clothing. She herself was wearing a small pink and white dress [in picture three], she had butterflies for bows and jewel placed on her chest that was connected to a necklace. She stopped, watching them, she was quiet most of the time which led her to think deeply on certain subjects or objects that caught her attention, such as the horses and the three people in front of her. A gentle breeze drew toward her, caressing her hair in an airy behavior, her eyes flowed to the horses and the glow started once again.
She was touching her necklace but when they began to trot away, at once her hand clutched it tightly and she took a step forward. Her brown eyes flickering from one to another, a tight feeling gripped her heart, should she just walk to the meadows or call out to one of them? She blinked then quickly decided- of course she was nervous and shy. “Wait!” she called, her melodic voice carried by the breeze that had flowed through her hair. She walked gracefully over to them, blushing as she came forward, what would she say now? She got their attention for sure, at last she managed to salvage enough courage to actually speak, “are these really your horses?” she asked, some admiration entering her soothing voice. She walked between them all, bringing her soft hand over each fuzzy face. She got to the last horse, which was Layke, a gentle smile played on her lips as she brushed her hand over the creature. Her brown eyes looked into it’s own before she backed away.
Blinking she look up at the owners again, her voice soft “they’re coats and manes are absolutely beautiful” she commented quietly, her small dress fluttering. It was so hard to imagine that she would be trotting along a path, perhaps these people would be her friends and tell her about them. “I’m getting a horse of my own soon,” she murmured to them for an explanation to her appearance, her eyes filled with wonder as she gazed at Lyke once again. What would her graceful beauty look like? Images flashed through her mind for a few heartbeats before she looked back up at Drew since he was the one who was riding Lyke. She smiled toward him, showing him she liked his horse then glanced at the others with the same smile. Her nervousness and shyness drifted away, “I’m Alicia.”

"I quit piano a while back; my teacher was a--" Taye cut himself off so as to not slip too much into his informal language that he oftentimes used with his friends. "She wasn't exactly nice, so I jus' quit. I don't play anythin' else since I don't exactly have 'nough time... School, work here, work there -- it's 'nough to make my mind 'plode without any type of instrument to learn," he said simply in response.
To Taylor's latter statement, he didn't know what to respond. "Well," he began, "eventually you'll probably get her." There. That was his response; it was rather short and cheesy, but that was all Taye had to offer since he didn't know what the female wanted to hear from him.
--x
Carrie looked up from the position in the meadow, just in time to see the male's -- what was his name? Taye's -- gaze leaving her. As she studied him from a distance, a giggle or two overcame her as well as a slight blush. She wanted so much to get Rory interested in to the topic of boys, but her best friend never really did seem interested...
...Wait, if Rory wasn't interested, then why was she riding off with... who was that with her? Drew? Anderson? Drew Anderson? Quickly scrambling to her feet and nearly tripping over a few pebbles, she quickly took her iPod earphones out of her ears. Wrapping the cord around the iPod, she went over to Calyndar, her black Egyptian Arabian stallion. Placing the electronic device into the leather saddlebag that was attatched to Calyndar's saddle, she put the saddle on Calyndar's broad back and quickly saddled him. After, she easily slipped the bit of Calyndar's bridle into the stallion's mouth. Buckling everything and making sure that nothing had come undone, Carrie stuck her left foot into the left stirrup and mounted.
Riding at a trot, she quickly caught up to Rory and Drew, who were moving at a walk. "Hey!" she said when she caught up to them, "can I come with you?"
--x
Drew didn't exactly want Carrie to come with him and Rory on the trail ride, but he was too polite to say 'no.' Besides, Carrie was Rory's best friend. "Sure," he responded at the same time that Rory did, their voices -- his lower, baritone one and her higher, soprano one -- speaking in unison as they responded. When Rory gave a smile of amusement in his direction, Drew turned his eyes down at Layke's mane. "Anyone else you want to bring?" he added politely, although he didn't exactly want anyone else coming.

"I see," Taylor responded, gazing at the brown-haired girl, and Drew's crestfallen face. He probably wanted to be alone with Rory. "Well, I'm going on a trail with Skye, if you want to come," she said, in a bit of a teasing tone, letting Skye start walking away.
Taylor caught up with Drew, rory, and Carrie. "Uh, could I come?" she asked, wondering if they would be mad at her for asking, and thinking she was annoying.

"That's fine," Rory responded in a nonchalant and breezy tone, unaware of Drew being a little frustrated. Nudging Sariae into a slow and even walk again, the gentle movement of Sariae underneath her nearly lulled her to sleep, but she remained determined to stay awake. She felt Carrie's gaze staring at her and she turned to ask her friend what was wrong. When Carrie gestured for her to fall back in their ranks, Rory paused Sariae for a moment to let Carrie on Calyndar catch up.
"What?" Rory asked, looking at her best friend and wondering what Carrie wanted. It was odd; the two were near polar opposites when it came to the topic of boys and many other things, yet they were still inseperable as friends. They had played together since the diaper and they had continued to hang out until now, even.
--x
A smile played on Carrie's lips. "You said that you weren't interested in boys," she said simply, the smile widening as amusement played in her amber colored eyes. "Interesting how you were about to go riding with Drew. With only you and him. Just you and him. Drew Anderson and you, Rory Leigh." A look of mischief flashed through her eyes. "Looks like you're going to have someone to go with to the next dance the stable throws," she said, mock envy in her voice.

Taylor walked Skye into the group, Skye prancing with excitement. Taylor's shoulder length hair blew in the warm breeze, her pink bows coming out of her hair. She let them wave out of her hair and blow in the wind, her hair flowing more freely now. "You want to go for a trot?" Taylor asked Drew, seeing that Rory was talking to her friend. She wished she had a best friend, but who knew, maybe this whole group would get to be all best friends.

"One moment," Drew said in response to Taylor, looking back at Rory and Carrie. "Carrie," he said easily, then added after a moment's hesitation, "and Rory." He lost his ability to speak for a few moments; the shyness overpowered him. In the end, however, he managed to mumble out something that was a bit hard to understand, but if you paid attention, you would understand what he said. "Let's speed up; a trot."
Not knowing why Carrie all of a sudden sent a side glance at Rory and was giggling, Drew turned his gaze back forward, a rather bemused and still timid look written across his face as he gently nudged Layke into a trot. The stallion immediately agreed and lengthened into even strides, although it was still a little bumpy. Drew, however, was relatively good at sitting trot and managed to stay seated.
--x
Once Drew looked away from her and Carrie, Rory sent a venemous glare in her best friend's direction. "You idiot," she hissed, but it was all in indignation that was only half real. Rory gently nudged Sariae into a trot. Again, like always, she was surprised by the smoothness of her mare's trot. Rory even managed to do a sitting trot every now and then, despite the fact that she had never really mastered the seated trot. Rory saw Carrie do the same thing, although Calyndar's trot wasn't exactly smooth, forcing Carrie to have to post.
"You're not on the right diagonal," Rory teased her friend, a glimmer of amusement passing through her eyes as she watched when Carrie stood up in the saddle. "But then again, none of us exactly know where the 'outside' is," Rory added when Carrie rolled her eyes.

From the corner of her eye, Rory noticed that Layke tossed his head up with impatience. Amusement flickered in her eyes; Layke didn't exactly like to be cooed and petted upon by a person he didn't even know. Sariae underneath her, however, gave a soft nicker as she slowed her pace down automatically, not even having to wait for Rory's signal for her to halt.
"The name's Rory; Rory Leigh. Pleased to meet you, Alicia," Rory greeted smoothly and warmly, sending the female a smile. "And I'm currently the owner of Sariae, this Lipizzaner mare," she added, stroking Sariae's glossy ivory colored neck a few times and then finishing with a gentle pat.
Rory turned to look at Carrie, an expectant look on her face. Then her gaze shifted briefly to Drew, observing him for a few, quiet moments. He didn't exactly seem to happy; she wondered why. Curiousity passed through her eyes, but she decided not to ask Drew anything about it in case he was still in his rather depressed state about the accident that had caused his family member -- perhaps an extremely close one -- to get injured and then eventually die.
--x
It was Carrie that spoke up before Drew. "Carrie. Carrie Lafevre," she said, trying to pronounce her last name as carefully as she could. She herself could easily pronounce it, but others sometimes had great difficulty in trying to sound out her last name and she could get rather impatient after a while of the person saying it wrong.
"It's an odd last name; blame the French origin," Carrie added in a good-natured tone. She gave a gntle pat to Calyndar on his neck. "Calyndar's a good stallion; he's a real gentleman. I've been thinking about opening him up for stud," she explained with a shrug as she slowed her stallion down. A grin spread across Carrie's face as she realized that Rory was riding Sariae -- a mare. "Well, what d'you think, Rory-yyy?" the female asked her best friend, dragging out the 'y' in Rory's name.
--x
"But what about Layke? He's a gentleman too, and he's been flirting with mares. Just earlier today he played around with a mare; Sariae," Drew said in mock indignation, laughter glimmering in his eyes as he saw Layke eye Calyndar with a reaproachful glance as if Layke had actually understood what he had said. Although Drew was completely lost for words when he was around Rory, he was easy with Carrie; she and him had been best friends since the diaper. Drew, however, wasn't exactly... affectionate of her as he was of Rory, but Carrie had no problem with it. Anyway, as they had both put it, it would just be way to weird.
As he mentioned Rory's mare's name, however, Drew couldn't help but feel his gaze being drawn towards Rory yet again. He gave a smile in her direction, a warmness and kindness gleaming in his eyes as he did so. Drew was aware of Carrie's giggles and had half mind to smack her in the head, but simply kept the position he was in.
--x
Carrie was humored; there was no doubt about that. She watched with a look of laughter in her eyes as she saw Drew sent a smile at Rory. And wait... Rory had saw it and was smiling back. Carrie felt the need to start blackmailing her friend about whether or not she had a crush on Drew or not, but that would all have to wait until later.
Pausing Calyndar for a moment, Carrie leaned down until she was almost level with Alicia's ear. "Drew's crazy over Rory and I'm not sure how it's playing out... yet. I'll understand when I force out Rory's thoughts being on her side of this situation," she whispered to the female, informing her of why she was giggling.

The petite figure of a female sat in a feild, stroking her mare's forehead with a delicate hand Her emerald green eyes stared at nothing, but were focused on her white lippizaner mare. She was blind, but didn't really mind. She was the shy type of person, usually waiting until people greeted her to introduce herself. She did love to ride horses though, but only her mare, Starlight. She had gotten the mare at a horse adoption center, and her brother had told her all about her, since she was blind, and Raya had loved her ever since.
Her personality was pretty shy, and was usually off in another world, pretty much like her brother. Her wardrobe consisted of mostly jeans and some soft shirts, pretty much ike any normal teenager. Currently, her long blonde hair was tied into a braid, with two pink hairclips holding her side-bangs back. [pretty much in the first photo.]
She was about 15 years old, and had ridden since she had got Starlight, with was about three years ago. She was blind, but Starlight always seemed to know what to do. Raya got up as she heard her brother call her from his horse, and mouted Starlight, who was currenylt wearing a black english saddle and bridle.

Her coat, which was thinning out and shedding due to the warmer and more alive spring weather that encased the land in its warm embrace currently, was white enough to match the color of a delicate and suave swan's feather. Her coat was almost enough to rival the silky touch of the ivory colored feather, but only almost. Her mane was the same way, having had countless groomings. Currently, however, the mare belonged to nobody.
The mare had an odd story, yet it also wasn't so odd. She had been weaned from her mother at an extremely early age. At first, she had been taken care of by the rough hands of some stable hand. Later on, however, the mare remembered the sweet voice and gentle, calm hands of another human -- a female. In the end, it turned out that the female's father had bought his daughter a foal when his daughter was seventeen -- her. The two had only spent little time together, but they had developed a special bond. Now, however, the bond had loosened in its ties -- the girl had gone off to some place that the mare nor any other equine would understand. Truth be told, the girl was in college. The girl's parents had felt that the mare was no use to their daughter anymore and simply decided to sell her.
And now here she was. Ambling about the pasture, defiance and hope still gleaming in her bright, russet colored eyes that maybe one day the girl would return and she would hear the soft and kind words whispered into her ear and feel the gentle touch of the girl. Even though it was hopeless, the mare didn't know that and simply still looked out of the pasture she was in everyday, still waiting for her former owner's return to her.
The mare was normally a calm soul, but she was also a fiery-tempered one sometimes. She wasn't exactly all that patient, either, although she tried to remain as patient as she good no matter what. Being an Arabian, her pedigree allowed her speed and grace through her movements, each action she made flowing like liquid, having a dignified air surrounding her. Still, there were moments when she wasn't like that -- like moments when she was acting playful.
She had been named Koraline by the girl when she had been a foal. Standing at around sixteen hands tall, around the typical height for an Arabian, Koraline was now three years old.
Even though many, many days had passed, Koraline still looked around each morning, still waiting for the girl to come back home. To come back to her.

Alicia dipped her head to them all in acknowledgment but blinked in surprise when Carrie whispered to her, since the young boy hadn’t introduced himself yet she turned to him, her brown eyes glittering with mild happiness. “Then, you must be, Drew?” she inquired softly, her voice honey-rich though quiet. Her eyes searched his face intently, drawing in every detail so that she could try to fully understand him. She had already done that with the others and was curious to how he was. She smiled once she took in enough of his appearance.
Her silky brown hair flowed in the breeze as she gazed up at him. He seemed to be an interesting person for some reason, she glanced at Rory, and she took a fancy to him? She focused on the thought briefly as she waited patiently for an answer, it seemed slightly strange but she let it flow away from her grasp anyhow. Her delicate hand reached for one brown pigtail, her fingers moving slowly over it.

A boy sat atop his stallion, waiting for his blind sister, Raya to get on her mare, Starlight. He called her name, asking if she was ever going to get on, and now she was slowly getting on. Tyler couldn't blame her, for she was blind, but...whatever. Tyler patted his horses mane as he pranced around underneath him. His stallion was a dun lustitano stallion, one of the Spanish breeds of horse, like his sister's mare. Tyler was pretty much the opposite of the stallion, who's name was Tao, and who was also very flirtatious, and outgoing, and who was the one who usually got him to meet people around the stables. Tyler, on the other hand, was very shy, but a good rider, as was his sister. Both him and his sister were good at Dressage, both their horses having skills at that, though his sister was better, because dressage was the only competition sport she did, but Tyler and Tao did jumping also.
Tyler was a fairly handsome teenager. He had light brown hair that came sometimes over his eyes in the front, with clear blue eyes, which sometimes attracted girls. He wasn't the most flirtatious one, having being shy and all, but maybe one day he would meet a nice girl. Most girls took interest in him for his eyes, but he hoped one would like him not just for his looks, but for his personality. He wasn't extremely tall, pretty much average height, and had tanned cream-colored skin. He didn't play any instruments, but his sister was exceptionally well at playing the piano, though it was beyond Tyler how she could manage. He looked at the group of riders, seeing a pretty girl standing next to the horses. He let Tao walk over. "Hi, he said, looking from rider to rider, his gaze finally resting in the girl not riding the horse. He looked up to see his sister trotting to keep up with him before looking back down at the girl again.

The young teenage girl felt the eyes of the newcomer on her, immediately Alicia felt embarrassed and her cheeks burned for a few heartbeats a light pink until it cleared away, she had always felt uneasy when someone she didn’t know as well look at her for a long while. Her sparkling brown eyes flowed over the features of the young man and his horse, she blinked warmly at the creature and placed her soft, delicate hand onto its head then ran it down a few times. At once the glow in her chest revived once more, she felt a sudden rush of excitement, joy, and love all at the same time. She would have a horse one day too, she would be riding along with it, her eyes filled with happiness.
Finally she stepped back, noticing horses and their owners surrounded her entirely. She felt small and somewhat vulnerable yet at the same time relaxed. Alicia gazed at each horse, by doing this she noticed their diversity around the others horses. Some were mellow others feisty.
