"Would you like to ride Tao?" Tyler asked the young girl, almost dismounting Tao. Tao was a pretty big horse, probably big enough for both of them to be on. "And by the way, I'm Tyler, and that's my sister, Raya," he said, dipping his head ever so slightly, Tao, bobbing his head up and down to the girl before turning his head to Sarie and bowing it low, extending his hoof, then standing back up straight. Tyler almost rolled his eyes, but just sat there, looking aruond, not wanting to make Alicia feel pressured to ride with him.
"Yes, I'm Raya," Raya greeted the young teenager warmly, her eyes as usual not staring at anything, but focused in Alicia. "And, yes I'm blind," she added nonchalantly, not really wanting Alicia to embarrass herself by asking if she was blind and then thinking she had said the wrong thing. "And this is Starlight" she added again, gently patting her Lippizzaner mare's glossy ivory neck.

"Yes, my name's Drew. It's not short for Andrew or anything; just Drew. Drew Anderson, as a matter of fact," Drew responded with a carefree shrug. Looking around for the voice that had spoken the greeting, he gave a nod and a greeting of "hey" straight back.
Drumming his fingers lightly against the right side of Layke's well-groomed neck, he did this small action out of slight frustration. How many more people were going to show up until he and Rory would be allowed to have a peaceful trail ride together, just the two of them? He didn't even really want to talk with Rory; just riding beside her would be good enough for him.
Although Drew longed to speak his mind, he reprimanded himself silently in his head. After all, Rory hadn't known that he had wanted to just go with her on the trail ride. Still, he had to fight in his mind to control his spiteful and frustrated thoughts towards the others who had joined.
--x
The rays of sunshine were beginning to come from overhead now, shadows being thrown into distortion from the sun being up in the sky instead of to the east or west. Currently, the temperature was at its climax, and hopefully soon it would cool down. It was a nice spring day, but the temperature was a bit warmer than Rory would have liked it to be. Still, she did like the weather in the present time.
"Hello," she greeted in a soft tone of voice, a light, breezy expression etched into the features on her face as she said a greeting to the newcomer. She turned her head again to observe what Drew was doing and saw that her was drumming his fingers against Layke's neck. After studying the action for a while, she realized that Drew was rather impatient. He probably wants to get going on the ride. Rory thought to herself simply.
She, too, wanted to start on the trail ride, although she would wait until everyone had finally decided whether to come or not. Relaxing in her position upon Sariae since it was evident that they wouldn't be departing soon, she rested her chin in the palm of her hand.
--x
Taye looked up, seeing that a group of riders had crowded somewhere nearby. Tilting his head to get a better look, he studied who was in the group. His eye caught and lingered on one person, however. Rory Leigh. Her friend was next to her, the same girl he had seen in the meadow earlier. Interesting.
Deciding that he would start his charm and toy around with the girls, Taye hopped over the wooden fence he was perched upon. Calling Terra to him and greeting her with gentle words, he took her saddle and briddle, both of which were laying on top of the fence. Saddling and putting the bridle on her, he mounted onto her back. Ready to go out, he realized that he hadn't opened the gate to get out. Taye rolled his eyes in frustration; he didn't want to have to get down to unlock the gate.
Suddenly, an idea came to him. "Shall we, girl?" he asked, a grin slowly spreading across his face. As if Terra knew what he were talking about, she gave a nicker which almost seemed to be of eagerness and delight. Nudging Terra into a walk, Taye walked her away from the fence. He halted and turned Terra. Quickly, he instantly began speeding her up to nothing less than a canter. With agile movements, Terra made her way up to the fence. Expecting, Taye got into the jumping position -- the two-point position. With his eyes fixed on the fence, he waited...
...Terra cleared the obstacle with a few inches to spare. Slowing down Terra to a walk, he turned her in the direction of the humans and their horses. Along the way, he managed to reach down far enough to snatch up a few wildflowers that were growing alongside a birch tree.
"Hey, everyone," Taye greeted them all easily as he neared them. Holding the flowers in plain view, he made a large show of presenting the flowers to Rory. "For you, m'lady," he said in a joking tone.
--x
My god. Carrie couldn't help but burst into giggles as Rory was given flowers by the male whom had looked at her in the field earlier. From behind, she poked Rory in the back, wondering if her friend would accept the flowers from the teenager.
Taking a quick side glance at Drew, she saw that the teenage male was clenching his fists in an unpleasant manner. Inside, Carrie gave a sigh. Why couldn't Drew take a joke? These flowers probably weren't meant in a sign of love; it was a jest.

Her gaze flowed over the horse; it was rather large so she could definitely fit. She remembered asking her father when she was little why people used saddles, so that the horse doesn’t give you burns was the reply. There was only one for Tao, she couldn’t take the chance to get hurt like that, besides, Tyler should understand shouldn’t he? The young teenage girl smiled, “if you had a mat I would,” she replied softly. Hopefully he wouldn’t get offended or anything of the sort.
She looked back at Drew once he said his name, “Nice to meet you Drew” she murmured, watching him. Once she saw how he was drumming his fingers on Layke’s neck, her smile faded and she finally said, “I suppose you don’t want me to hold you up here” there was some hurt in her brown eyes as she backed away. Alicia glanced at them all, dipped her head slightly then walked away, her hair and dress blowing gently in the breeze. There was no point in that effort, she thought but felt a little regretful that she had walked away. Then reminded herself that they were bound to tell her bye and trot off into the distance with their horses anyway. Though, it would have been nicer if Drew hadn’t been so blunt on his actions, Rory too since she had her head in her hand. Alicia sighed softly, quite unsure what to do.

"Here, hold the reins, one second," Tyler said to Alicia, and got off of Tao, taking off his saddle and putting it on a nearby fence. Her walked back, and got back on Tao, his saddle blanket still on him. "Now you can come with us, miss Alicia," he said, not even meaning to say the word "miss" in front if Alicia's name. This wasn't even like him at all. Why was he so keen to get Alicia on the trail?

The young teenager turned back to watch as Tyler fixed his horse, after a moment of thought, she decided to go with him. At first she felt utterly bewildered on how to get onto the huge horse but managed to ease herself onto Tao, at last she was settled down. Her hand brushed some of her brown hair out of her face, she blinked once she realized how high up she was. She sighed silently, wondering how this was going to turn out.
Hopefully her father wouldn't want her anytime soon, she didn't want him to delay getting her horse, then she would just be miserable. Alicia pushed the feeling of dread out of her mind.

"Hold on, Tao likes to go a bit fast, but it seems he likes you," Tyler said to Alicia with a warm smile in her direction. "Come one guys, you ready to go?" he asked, urging Tao into a slow walk, smiling at how smooth his Lusitano stallion's gait was. He couldn't wait to get into a trot, and maybe a canter, if Alicia wanted to.

Before Rory had heard Tyler's words of allowing their departure, she had been studying the scenery of the stable. It was true that the spring weather had certainly brought some colorful splashes of of flowers lining everywhere, but Rory was a little more eager to start going on the trail ride rather than sitting around and trying to admire the surroundings here. After all, it was much nicer on the trail.
Hearing Taye's melodramatic words, she turned and saw the relatively handsome young man giving her a brilliant smile. She couldn't help it; her own smile came to her lips as she saw the look on his face as if he wre madly in love with her. "Why, thank you," she responded, laughter in her voice as well as hinting in her eyes as she accepted the floral gift from him.
Raising them to her nose, Rory breathed in the sweet auroma that came from the flowers. She gave a smile as she recognized the flowers as an assortment of Birds of Paradise as well as numerous amounts of azaleas, the colors weaving in and out in beautiful formations. "They're beautiful; thank you," she said, thanking Taye again, this time in a more serious and formal manner.
Nudging Sariae gently, the Lipizzaner mare moved on at a slow and steady pace. The ivory colored mare had a placid and calm look on her face as if she hadn't a care in the world, but that intelligent look still remained slightly in her expression as she moved along, realizing that Layke wasn't beside her now, but Terra, the palomino mare owned by another male, was.
--x
Again, Drew clenched and unclenched his as he watched Rory accept the flowers from Taye. Although he remained perfectly easy-going and calm looking on the outside, he was secretly seething against the young man who had confronted their group and was now... flirting with Rory. A flare of protectiveness sparked in Drew's eyes as he looked at Rory.
A voice -- Carrie's -- whispered in his ear, "Drew, relax; it's probably just a joke." A joke? Yeah, right. Drew shook his head and leaned away from Carrie. It was a joke that she thought it was a joke! Cynically, he kicked Layke to make the Arabian horse go, although he did it a little harder then he meant to, causing Layke to give a rather irritated snort before moving onward.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Taye and Carrie moving onward as well. Giving a curt nod to both of them, he looked straight ahead at the upcoming trail, frustration still blazing within him furiously. How dare Taye. How dare he.

Raya walked Starlight over to Drew, her gaze focused on him. "Drew, are you alright?" she said, her tone soft and gentle. "I...I know I can't see, but I bet you're really handsome, and I bet Rory'll soon like you as more than a friend. But maybe you have to show her you like her as more than a friend first, or you'll lose her." Raya spoke with truth, because this had once happened to her brother. He had waited too long to tell a girl he liked her, and she had gone out with someone else.

Drew gave a sigh as he turned his head, watching Rory as she rode on top of Sariae, her normal expression on her face. He longed for another one of her smiles aimed towards him, but she was currently laughing and joking around with... him. That low, good for nothing male whom had just waltzed along and all but started flirting madly with Rory. He wouldn't stand for it. Frustration mounted within him, but like always, Drew fought for his temper to remain stable as it normally was. "If I lose Rory..." he murmured softly, trailing off, unable to finish his sentence at the thought of something like that actually happening. He gripped Layke's reins even tighter then he already had, earning himself another irritated noise from the gray colored Arabian stallion.
"Sorry, Layke," he whispered softly to his stallion, loosening his grip on the leather reins which were attatched -- rather indirectly -- to the metal bit inside Layke's mouth. "But if I can't even work up the courage to speak to her without blushing like crazy, how am I ever supposed to tell her?" Drew asked quietly, not quite sure who the question was adressed to; he just felt a need to get it out in the air and perhaps someone had an answer to that.
--x
"You really do care for her, don't you, Drew?" Carrie asked softly as she slowed Calyndar just in time to hear of the subject of the topic. Glancing up from her concerned look at her friend, she saw Rory giving Taye a light punch on the shoulder, a teasing light in her pale violet eyes. "You'll just know when the time is correct, but remember who you like, Drew. Rory's sensitive; she gets confused easily and if you tell her at the wrong place and time... Well, chances are things might get a little messed up," she murmured quietly to Drew. Carrie rested her hand lightly atop Drew's shoulder before moving Calyndar up ahead with Taye and Rory.
--x
Rory did rather like Taye; he was charming and rather witty, able to put up a good arguement for whatever statement she had to say. He made her laugh. He made her truly passionate about things she cared about. Taking a look over her shoulder, she saw Carrie advancing towards her and Taye. She gave a half-circle of a wave to her friend, slowing Sariae down for a few paces to let Carrie and Calyndar catch up.
"What's up?" Rory asked in a cheerful tone of voice.

Fitting in.
It wasn't too hard for Camille, seeing as some people liked that she was from France, or her accent, and the boys usually liked her for her beauty. She didn't really care how pretty she was, but she liked that once in a while people gave her compliments.
She was moderately pretty. She had periwinkle colored eyes, and light brown thick wavy hair, cascading in curls and waves down her back. Her figure was slim, and her face was finely formed; with relatively high cheekbones.
Her wardrobe was pretty much normal, but sometimes she liked to cut her clothing or embroider or paint her clothing to make it more of her style. Currently, she was wearing a light blue short sleeved shirt, and faded blue jeans. On her feet were tall black leather riding boots, and her hair was in its usual position, billowing in the wind, her bangs hanging a bit over her eyes.
Her accent still hung on to her vocal chords a bit, but she didn't mind. She rather liked it. Her temper wasn't that short, and she was relatively easy going, but she did put up a good argument sometimes.
She rode over to the group of riders rather quickly as to not let them get away. Her mare, Papillon, which meant butterfly in French trotted over, her long wavy ivory mane billowing in the wind, her pearl and silver dappled coat shining in the sunlight,
"Bon--I mean, hi," she said. "I was wondering if I could come on your trail ride?" she asked, not wanting to stop them, so she just kept on trotting with them, Pappilon's smooth gait allowing her to sit while trotting.

All right, hold on a second. This was getting old. Wayyyy too old.
"I don't think I'm going to go," Drew muttered, giving a shrug after he had said the words. Looking up, he saw that Rory hadn't even acknowledged her words; she was too busy trading mock-serious comments about certain objects with Taye. Frustration glinted in his eyes as he gave an inward sigh.
"Have fun, Rory, Carrie and the rest of you," Drew finished before turning Layke and steering his stallion in the direction of a meadow. He knew that his stallion wasn't all too happy to leave Sariae behind, but Drew just wasn't exactly caring right now. Tears pricked at his eyes, yet he couldn't cry. How could he? Crying was for cowards and wimps.
Yet that was how Drew felt. He was a coward and a wimp. A coward because he couldn't tell Rory how he felt about her without stammering and blushing himself to death and he was a wimp because he was sitting around here, near tears that threatened to stream out like a torrent.
--x
Taye turned around in time to see -- what was his name? -- Drew leaving the group. Furrowing his eyebrows in thought of why the guy had left, Taye looked back towards Rory. "Hey, Ror', I'm going to go check on Drew over there. Y'all can go on your trail ride; I don't think I really want to go after all, 'nyways," he told the female. He nudged Terra and steered her to walk towards Drew, but not before he leaned over and gave Rory a quick peck on the cheek.
Jeez; why was he such a flirt? Taye couldn't help it; he guessed it was just in his bloodline and ancestry to flirt. Still, it was rather odd. Behind him, he could hear Rory's friend -- Carrie? -- giggling to death. Sheesh; that girl was going to choke on her giggles someday and her gravestone would say 'died from giggles when a handsome boy kissed her friend.' Psssh. Some funeral that would be, staring at a stone that had those words engraved within them.
Taye made his way over to Drew, cocking his head to the side. "Drew, is it?"
--x
Rory managed a slight blush when Taye leaned over and brushed his lips lightly against her cheek. Turning to Carrie, she saw her friend helpless with giggles. "Shut up, Carrie," Rory hissed to her friend, but she couldn't help but let a pleased look rush through her face. Shoot. She wasn't interested in boys. No, she wasn't. She, Rory Leigh, was not interested in boys and she never would be.
Then why was she feeling a little gloomy now that Taye wouldn't be going on the trail ride with them? No matter. "Let's go, then," Rory called out in a light, breezy tone, gesturing with her right hand which way to go, making sure that she included the newcomer in on the direction they were going to go.
--x
Carrie still couldn't help it; giggle after giggle came upon her as she replayed the scene of Rory and Taye over and over again in her mind. It was only after Rory had reached her hand over and gave her a smack on the face did Carrie return back to her normal state, riding Calyndar with a cheerful look written across her face.
Still, worry clawed at her. Would Drew be all right? Throwing a glance over her shoulder, concern flodded into her delighted expression. How was Drew? Was he angry? How would he reacct to Taye speaking to him?
