Alicia had reached her hand forward, about to pet Koraline when Tyler whispered to her, she drew her soft hand back and turned to look at him. "Its sounds like a nice offer, Tyler, but I think I'll be riding my new horse today. Thank you very much, I'm sure it would have been fun" she said politely, hoping he would understand. Her brown gaze flickered back over to Koraline, it would be rude to just turn her back on Tyler and pet so she restrained herself.
Alicia reached into her purse, pulling out some pink lip-gloss, she put some on as she waited quietly for his reply. Yesterday he had admited he liked her more than just a friend, the teenage girl knew that he was going to be sad that she didn't accept. She put the lip-gloss back into her purse and zipped it close. Perhaps one day she would feel the same, but not so soon since she had only just met him the day before.

Koraline gave another nicker as if implying the fact that the teenager human should turn around and look at her. She stuck her velvety muzzle as far out as it would go, lightly brushing the female's arm. Breathing out a breath of warm air, Koraline looked up at the female, a calm and gentle look in her eyes as she looked at the teenager, observing and examining her even more to try to determine what type of person the girl was.
Koraline had never received a harsh word nor a hard blow from anyone in her life, and she certainly didn't want to start now when she was on sale here at the stables. She could hardly imagine this female raising her hand and smacking her as hard as she could or hitting her with an inanimate object, but one could never be quite sure.

Tyler sighed. Would he ever get this right? Why couldn't he just leave her alone for like 10 minutes? "Alright. I guess your dad with be here soon anyway. Then we can pick out your new horse," he added, excitement still bubbling faintly inside him. "So you like this one?" he asked, laughter in his smooth voice.

Koraline gave a few soft whinnies as if to say, "yes, yes, yes!" She didn't even understand the language of the humans, but she knew that the humans weren't hanging around near her pasture for just the sake of standing there. Sure, that was a possibility, but Koraline highly doubted that.
Giving a toss of her head and shaking her mane, Koraline flicked her tail lightly over her hindquarters to rid herself of a couple of flies that had been torturing her slightly. She waited for the humans to decide to buy her; after all, that was the reason why they were here, right?

Alicia smiled to his later comment; "I saw her behind me and thought she was beau-" she was cut off as Koraline nuzzled her arm. She turned to look at her, quite surprised at the sudden movement; she gazed into the horse's eyes and saw the gentle look. "I think I might get her" Alicia murmured quietly as she began to stroke Koraline's neck, hoping to see how she would react.
She heard boots hitting the gravel and turned to see her father, he was watching her with interest; she nodded to him in a way that said she this was the horse she wanted. He took the answer and disappeared in the small building next to the stable. "Well, Koraline" she spoke to the horse quite softly, "I'm your new friend." Knowing that her father was paying she opened the stall's gate, it swung open.
Alicia stood three feet from the opening, and then slowly slipped into the stall with the horse, praying that Koraline wouldn't harm her for stepping inside. She reached for the saddle and bridle and once it was in her hand, she flipped open Taylor's book and quickly read how to put it on. Soon enough everything was set, she grabbed the leather rope, looking into her horses eyes as she back up, waiting for her to fallow. With a sharp breath she spoke, "come on Koraline, lets go for a walk outside" deciding not to get on just yet she took a few tiny steps toward the opening of the stable, encouraging Koraline along the way. Quickly remembering she pulled out the apple she had in her purse, she had put it in there just for this moment. "Come on, girl" Alicia said nonchalantly while holding out the apple.

Koraline hadn't had tack on her for quite a while. It felt rather odd because she had to wear the saddle and bridle yet again, but she preferred having to be tacked then to have to stay by herself in the lonely pasture. Moving the metal bit around in her mouth, she found a spot where it could remain in her mouth without bothering her too much.
Even though the female was currently holding an apple to make her move along, it wasn't the treat that made Koraline come out of the meadow almost immediately -- it was the ability to finally have her freedom back again, even if she was going to get owned by someone. The mare was cautious in her steps. Even though the turf in the field had been soft and had made easy footing, she was even glad to be on this rocky surface, for the mere fact that it wasn't the same as what she had been in during her captivity.
As if she had been kept in a cage all her life and was now finally free, Koraline tossed her head up, but only slightly so that she didn't jerk her new owner's hand up. Flicking her tail side to said in a rhythmic movement, the mare followed the female teenager's path wherever she went. Breathing in the scents around her as if she hadn't been able to sniff them before, a delighted look entered Koraline's eyes.
From the careful and cautious way that the female had put on the saddle and bridle, Koraline had known at once that this wasn't a female who would turn on her and give her harsh blows and words all at once. Still, Koraline wasn't about to take advantage of this -- who knew what could happen if she acted up and disobeyed commands given to her? Koraline had a bit more of a spirit than other mares with the same breed bloodlines, but she knew when to remain calm.
With light steps that faintly embedded a single hoofprint each time she pressed down and moved forward, Koraline continued to follow the female... and the apple.

Tyler looked warmly at Alicia as she led Koraline out of her stall. "It looks like she likes you--" Tyler cut off as Alicia's father came. "Hello," he said politely. "I'm um, Tyler," he added, dipping his head slightly.
Camille looked at Drew, Rory, and Carrie. "So, Carrie, do you want to do some jumping?" she asked, hinting that maybe they should leave Drew with Rory. Drew seemed upset that everyone had barged in on his and Rory's trail ride yesterday. And besides, she wanted to get to know Carrie better. "Hey, Drew, I think Papillon's got a little crush on Layke," she finally said to him, a teasing tone in her voice as she watched Papillon give Layke yet another playful nudge before cantering gravefully across the field.

Drew gave a nod in response to Camille's words before turning back to look at the pasture. A slight hint of a smile played on his lips and in his eyes for the first time today as he watched Layke toss his head and give a loud whinny that seemed almost like a trumpeting to introduce royalty.
He looked back down at the ground, scuffing the hard dirt floor with his shoe. Some dust kicked up, but it soon quickly layed down. Suddenly, an arm was placed over his shoulders. He looked over to see who it was, but he knew already without looking that by the prescence, it was Rory.
Rather surprised, he didn't really answer her question of, "what's up, Drew?", very fully. No, his response was more of a... mumble and a surprised stare. Still, Rory humored him and began chatting on as if she hadn't a care in the world, perhaps hoping that she might bring up his spirits a little. Drew couldn't help but have his smile widen; Rory didn't even know what was troubling him and she was trying to make him feel better. Trust her to do that.

"Oui, oui," Carrie responded almost immediately as Camille asked her the question about jumping. She and Calyndar were trained in jumping; the two had been working on the numerous obstacles and the like for a long time. Carrie didn't really keep track at how long she had worked with Calyndar with jumps, but she knew that it was somewhat around eight years -- quite a long period of time.
She remembered how she felt the first time she jumped; scared, delighted, and exhilirated all at the same time. It was hard to imagine a group of emotions managing to fit in to Carrie's mind since she was, of course, a teenager, but they were able to sneak in and mix together.
Moving through the maze of stalls to find Calyndar, Carrie entered the tack room for a brief moment to get Calyndar's tack. Opening the stall and clipping a lead rope to his halter and then attatching the lead rope to a post so that he didn't walk away, Carrie tacked him up. She made sure that Calyndar didn't take a breath and suck his stomach in; she had done that all too many times when she was little and had paid for it with an assortment of bruises and cuts.
"C'mon, boy," she said, patting Calyndar as she untied the lead rope from the post and unclipped it from his halter. Grabbing hold of the reins, she led her obisidian colored stallion out of the stall, careful to shut the entrance to it behind her. Going back to Camille, Carrie decided to ignore the fact that Rory had her arm slung around Drew -- if she paid attention to that fact, she wouldn't stop giggling for a long time.
"Ready?" she asked, still trying not to listen to the conversation Drew and Rory were having.

Camille nodded, bangs now in her eyes. She tipped her head to the side, and her bangs now only covered one perewinkle eye.
Once Papillon was tacked up in polished black english tack, Camille led her into the jumping ring. Papillon pranced under Camille in excitemtn. It had been at least three days since they had last been jumping, and Papillon loved to do it. "You want to go first?" Camille asked to Carrie, and gently pulling Papillon's head away from the direction of Layke.

"Sure," Carrie responded, giving Carrie a smile as the female allowed her to go first with the jumping course. This was a jumping course she and Calyndar had often traveled on; they had practiced with this course many times. Each obstacle was marked with faintly marked box in front of it to show those who weren't well acquainted with the course where to start their jumping over the poles.
The female stuck her left foot in to the stirrup, swinging her right leg over smoothly and was seated on Calyndar. Nuding the obisidian colored stallion onwards lightly, Calyndar moved forward at an easy and languid pace as if he had just woken up and was tired -- which actually might've been the case. Still, the fresh spring air that had a slight, salty tang to it from the body of water nearby. You could almost even hear the faint rush of water as it burbled and moved about, causing a soothing sound to come from faraway and intertwin with the crystalline notes of birdsong that sounded in the air.
As Calyndar increased his speed, Carrie's hair gleaming a honey-brown color in the sunlight streamed out from behind her, whipping the air behind her as Calyndar continued to lengthen his strides. Underneath her, Calyndar's hooves seemed almost a blur as they left hoofprints embedded within the sandy ground.
As they neared the first jump, Carrie looked straight at it, sizing it up. It seemed to be around one foot tall; an easy jump for sure. "C'mon, boy," Carrie murmured when she leaned forward in to the two-point position a few moments before the jump. Calyndar moved forward, springing up in the air with a powerful leap.
Within seconds, Calyndar had cleared the jump with inches to spare and landed on the other side, all smoothly. On to the nxt jump. This one was a hedge, looking rather prickly. If Calyndar by accident grazed the prickly points, it wouldn't hurt to death, but it would give him somewhat of a light scratch that would remain for maybe one or two days. Even though Carrie knew it wouldn't kill Calyndar, she still didn't want any pain -- no matter what the quantity -- to befall her stallion.
Carrie had nothing to worry about; she was confident. As fluently as she spoke her foreign languages, the two made it over the second jump with ease and even with a slight touch of elegance and style. Proud of Calyndar, she let go of the reins for a few moments to pat him lightly before holding on to the strings of leather yet again.
Through the series of multiple jumps and even some jumps that were grouped together, Carrie and Calyndar cleared them. Some were cleared better than others, but they were still all finished. By the end when they had completed the course, Carrie was flushed in the face from the warmth that had spread across her from the spring day.
"Good job, Calyndar," she whispered softly as she leaned forward and on to his neck. He flicked an ear to show that he had heard her say something before moving out of the jumping arena at a slow walk.

"Good job," Camille called to Carrie. She got onto Papillon, swinging herright leg over to the stirrup, and sitting up straight.
She started at a trot, then a canter up to the first jump, about two feet tall. She and Papillon cleared it a both grace and elegance, both with mane and hair streaming out behind them. They went on to the next jump, this one about three and a half feet tall, and cleared it with ease. The next one, however, was a bittaller, and with Papillon's shorter height than the other horses, the hit a pole slightly, but luckily didn't knock it down. The other jumps were easy, and Camille and Papillon cleared then stylishly and elegantly. Once she was done, Cmaille walked Papillon over to Calynder, her cheecks now pink from the sunlight of the cloudless sky.

"Nice," Carrie responded smoothly, giving a nod and a smile to Camille to congratulate her for completing the course. Underneath her, Calyndar gave a slight prance of impatience to get moving. Indeed, her ebony colored stallion didn't enjoy standing around in one place for very long.
"Calyndar's eager to be getting on to do something," Carrie said with a shrug, patting the neck of the stallion lightly. He didn't seem to sweat very easily, despite the fact that the sun was raining its bright, golden rays down. Black was the color that always absorbed light and warmth, so even though Calyndar didn't sweat all too quickly, she knew that he must be feeling fairly uncomfortable in the midst of the spring weather. Alicia smiled lightly, then gave Koraline the apple, "lets go, my dearest." She stroked her horse, walked outside to the clearing, then waited for Koraline to follow, it felt good to have a horse. She glanced at the building where her father was walking out. He waved to her before he sat down on a bench to watch, gawsh he knew just how to make her feel nervous and uncomfortable.
She pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind and focused on her beautiful female horse-- a mare was it? Alicia watched as Koraline suddenly trotted out, looking around happily, she probably hated being stuck in her stall for so long.

Koraline gently took the apple from the female's hand, her velvet-feeling muzzle brushing ever so lightly against the female. Crunching on the fleshy and juicy fruit, she let the taste fill her mouth and satisfy her. If she had been a cat, she would've purred out of delight at receiving the treat. Still, she wasn't a cat -- she showed her appreciation and her elated feeling with a small nicker and a slight prance.
The ivory colored mare paused for a moment to observe her new owner again. From the way that her new human owner acted and did things, Koraline could easily tell that she wasn't the type of owner who would take out a whip and beat her senseless, but still: one could never be too sure no matter what. One had to experience something to be able to tell about it.

Tyler continued to walk beside Alicia, careful not to look at her too much in case her father saw. He stared shyly at the ground for amoment, then remembered that he should be helping Alicia know about the horse. "Looks like she's an Arabian, her dished head and delicate legs. She's beautiful," Tyler said. And being a rather sensitive person, he did mean it. Most boys like him would spend all their time working out and trying to flirt with girls, but he had a rather calm, sensitive personality, and he was naturally strong, from tacking and untacking horses, lifting hay bales, and using his leg muscles to ride. He had a rather soft look on his face most of the time, especially when he saw someone he cared for, like Alicia. He knew if she finally liked him, he would be rather protective of her, but he would also let her have space, not like those boys who always had to know what their girlfriends were doing.
