"Here, have some water," Moonsilver said gently, , though her voice was a bit strained. She placed the moss she had been carrying in front of Rosepetal, sighing as warmth washed over her in the nursery. It was a nice sight: Rosepetal and Twilightleaf sharing a look with such passion, the black she-cat's heart started to ache. She wondered what it would be like to be loved like that, to have someone to care for you no matter what. Moonsilver shook her head. Her duty to her Clan was more important than anything else.
She shook her head, and focused on Rosepetal. "Now, just relax. You're going to be fine, and you're doing great," Moonsilver mewed to the ivory and ginger she-cat, flashing a quick smile at her before returning to her thoughts. "Now, if you feel alot of pain, chew on one of these poppy seed. I don't want you eating alot, so only when the pain is really bad can you have one; I don't want you getting drowsy," she said lightly as to not frighten or upset Rosepetal.

Rosepetal looked up gratefully at Moonsilver, a small purl trembling in her throat. "Thank you," she meowed in a quiet voice, leaning down to take a few drops of the moisture on to her tongue. It wasn't exactly thirst quenching, but it did help considerably. Once she had somewhat swallowed her fill of the cool liquid, she lowered her head on to her paws once again, exhaling deeply all of a sudden as if trying to let the pain escape from her, although, of course, there wasn't really much to do to ease the pain besides endure.
The she-cat's eyes gently sweeped over the poppy seeds sitting in their small pile near her. She was somewhat tempted to take one to maybe help the pain ease its iron grip on her, but she resisted, as she wanted to try without becoming drowsy. After all, history was in the making, and she wanted to be fully at her senses when the kits bearing Twilightleaf's blood entwined with her own came in to the world. Names were already beginning to swirl about in her mind, mixing in along with the haze in her mind.
A bead of sweat trickled down her flank, lightly swiped away by the gentle touch of Twilightleaf's tail. Discomfort encircled itself around her, increasing the pain even more. Jabs of pain were now continuously hurting her, and the sudden jab all of a sudden caused her eyes to snap open once again.
"Twilightleaf!" she gasped, eyes trailing over to her mate as he suddenly became alarmed. "It's... time..." she meowed, her voice trailing off.

Moonsilver looked at Rosepetal's discomfort, feeling sadness for her, but also feeling joyous that the she-cat, herself, and Twilightleaf would be bringing new lives into the Clan and into the world. Smiling, she reassured the white and ginger she-cat. "You'll be just fine, Rosepetal. Just think, you are bringing new life into the world. You and Twilightleaf. Think about how beautiful your kits will be!" And with that, she began to help Rosepetal and her mate through the miracle of life.
ooc;; I thought maybe we should skip all the lovely graphic details of the birth and skip to when Rosepetal's had her kits. c:

swan ll feather
Swanfeather stood in the background of the kitting scene, only a white blur and nothing else, the only thing giving her way was her bright green eyes. "Rosepetal..." The she-cat murmured before backing farther away as to leave the mates together for this special moment, she felt a stab of pain in her stomach as she transitioned to a sitting position. Wincing, she took in a deep breath and felt the area relief itself. Thinking it was over, she fidgeted a little in her nest and there was another flash of hurt. Swanfeather wrinkled her nose and closed her eyes, forcing herself to relax the tension from within her body. No wonder the kits inside were causing this, with her muscles all hard it must be difficult for them. The pain subsided and the ivory she-cat sighed quietly before easing her way into a ball. C'mon, Rosepelt! You can do it! She silently chanted, her tail flicking back and fourth.
The feathery nest made it really tempting to fall asleep but she forced herself awake, her eyes straining slightly with the effort. She need to congratulate the queen when her kits were born! What kind of friend would she be if she didn't? A bad one at that! Her vision began fuzzy as she focused intently on the kitting session just a few nests away. After a few she heard Rosepetal's gasp that they were coming. All tiredness vanished as she uncurled herself slightly and gazed at the queen in excitement. Kits! Swanfeather's building purr bubbled over and gave the scene a softer tone, she was smiling and kneading the moss in happiness as she watched. She didn't want to intrude by randomly coming in.
Then questions poured into her mind.
What would be their names? What will they look like? How will Rosepetal react? What about Twilightleaf's reaction? Swanfeather's purr grew in sound and she continued to watch.

The expression that danced across Rosepetal's face when the pain had dulled down was one of gratefulness. She sent a quick prayer up to StarClan, one of thanks as well as one that hoped her kits were all alive, and none of them had been a stillborn. Looking down at the small bundles, she couldn't quite believe her eyes. For certain, it took a few moments for her to get used to the sight of them. After a few moments of staring at them strangely, her gaze softened, and she curled them in to her grasp with her tail. It was true that her strength had ebbed away somewhat, but she still had enough to feed the motherly instinct of taking care of her kits.
Lowering her head, she rasped her tongue over each and every one of them, blanketing them momentarily with an even greater warmth than the one inhabiting the nursery. Pushing all worries out of her mind that it was leaf-bare and the fact that there was a freezing cold outside that could easily kill the newborn kits, the ivory and hazel colored she-cat's chest rumbled with numerous purrs, each one with their own special touch of tenderness that would hopefully reach the soft, downy ears of the kits.
"Twilightleaf," the she-cat breathed, tearing her eyes away from the kits momentarily to glance at her mate. His eyes met hers once again, and the two, in unison, looked down at the kits. The she-cat was thoroughly exhausted and wanted nothing more than to sleep for a day or three, but she fought to keep herself awake, as she didn't want to miss any of the first few moments of her kits.
The twilight colored tomcat moved closer to his mate, curling his tail around the kits as well, so that they were all surrounded by a black-and-white border. Lowering his head, he added after Rosepetal's licks a few welcoming licks of his own. Looking at them, he blinked thoughtfully, and once again gazed toward Rosepetal, all the while having a purr tremble in his chest and throat. He truly did love the she-cat, and had no doubts whatsoever that she didn't return his emotions. The kits had just made it seem all the more realistic, and now there was no going back. Still, this prospect wasn't scary -- actually, Twilightleaf embraced it warmly, and was sure that Rose petal was thinking about something along the same lines currently. Despite the fear of birth, a new confidence had been installed amongst the two, and they were ready to tackle whatever challenges that their fate had set before them with their kits.
Before all of that history making stuff, however, there was another matter to discuss. This wasn't exactly a life-or-death matter, but it was something that was crucial for the kits. Each and every single one of them needed a name, and sometimes dubbances for each small cat could take a while, as they had to be absolutely perfect. After all, these kits would have to live with the same prefixes in their names forever, and they probably sure as heck didn't really want something that was way out there and extremely odd.
"They're beautiful," the tomcat murmured softly, his words stating clearly by themselves that he was stating the truth of what he thought. As if to confirm this, he gave a slight nod.
ooc; whoa there. bad ending for that post. x.x;

"Rosepetal," Moonsilver whispered, her warm sapphire gaze resting on the beautiful kits that the ivory cat had just given birth to, before fixing them on the two love-struck mates. "You did it. You brought these beautiful kits into the world. What will you name them?" she asked, before being silent, as to not ruin the moment Rosepetal and Twlightleaf were sharing.
How wonderful birth was. Bringing kits into the world. Moonsilver thought about what it would be like to have a loving mate, one that would look at her the was Twilightleaf looked at Rosepetal. She had thought about it often, but always shook the thuoghts away, knowing that her duty to the Clan was the most important thing in her life.

The she-cat looked back up at her mate, the question of wonderment dancing through her eyes as he met her gaze. It was, indeed, a difficult situation: what would they dub their kits? After all, these would be the names that their kits would hold, the names that the kits would forever be addressed by. It was certainly a difficult decision to make, and both parents weren't exactly sure if they were quite ready to dive in to making all these choices quite yet. Still, if they just continued to bask in the warmth of the Nursery and stare lovingly at their kits, the kits would be nameless, and would simply just adapt to probably the first thing they were called.
Twilightleaf and Rosepetal hadn't let this topic gone unspoken -- they had already managed to brainstorm a few ideas up between them. As a young kit, Twilightleaf had had somewhat of a liking to frolic around in different herbs, despite the fact that he would probably never really be certified for the position of medicine cat. That was another point, however -- the biggest influence of this kithood was the fact that he knew the names of just a few herbs, and some of them had a nice ring to them when lined up with the suffixes that a cat in a Clan was required to have.
Sagekit. Thymekit. Juniperkit. Tansykit. And many more.
They were all interesting sorts of names, but he and Rosepetal had narrowed it down to Sagekit and Thymekit. Sweeping his gaze across the row of kits, the dark colored tomcat's eyes finally rested on one. Instead of squirming around and being all curious and everything else that you expected a newborn kit to be, this kit simply sat there, looking relatively content, even though she couldn't exactly see through her eyes quite yet. This kit -- a she-kit -- had somewhat of a calm demeanor surrounding her, the type of demeanor you find surrounding someone of a placid and tranquil air.
Twilightleaf gave a slight nod as he turned to gaze at Rosepetal, seeing that her eyes had followed where his had drifted. After observing the same kit as her mate, she recognized the signs of the kit keeping a composed and peaceful expression. Knowing for a fact that Twilightleaf preferred for one of the kits to be named after an herb or plant, her mind instantly flitted to the ones that she and him had narrowed it down to. Fleetingly, she remembered an instance where he had explained some of the uses of the herbs, although he hadn't been quite sure. Still, she would hold his words as liable, and she trusted him to be correct. In that case, then, the best name suited for this kit would be...
Thymekit.
"Thymekit," the pair murmured, more or less in unison.
The newly named Thymekit was of a smoky color, much like her father. Her eyes, from what could be told from them, were slightly tinting toward deepening in to possibly a darker color on the color scale, but then again, it was rather a little too early to tell.
ooc; 'kay, so, uhhh. i kinda just lost my muse here. so. uh. if people could remind me what their kits names are for rose & twilight, and what their kits look like... that would be helpful.
