"Thanks," Raytail returned, having nothing else to say. He remained staring up at the sky, wondering where Dewstripe was. She knew that she must be walking with StarClan, and this comforted him slightly. He knew that she was in good paws. He closed his eyes, and for a fleeting instant, he felt as if he had caught sight of Dewstripe and her pelt and her laughing and cheerful demeanor. This premonition took away his breathe; it caught in his throat.
Swallowing hard and forcing himself to let go of the image, he shook his head. "Are you going to become an apprentice soon?" he meowed, his voice coming out rather strained.

Dovekit was rather surprised at the sudden change of subject, and blinked a few times before answering.
"I guess so," she mewed, rather confident and hopeful. I turn six moons in newleaf. She smiled at him, her pale blue eyes warm and twinkling with admiration.

"New-leaf seems a long way off, doesn't it?" Raytail murmured quietly, his gaze drifting briefly to the sky again. It was a dark, pure color, showing off the twinkling stars that inhabited the expanse of its blanket that covered the world as far as the eye could see. When younger, Raytail had used to wonder about these things. He had even voiced his contemplations out loud to Dewstripe at times. He had been afraid each time that she would laugh, but she had taken each one seriously and with thought, even when he himself had believed the thoughts to be stupid.
"But it'll be here before you know it," he added in a kind tone so that the kit -- she had said Dovekit, hadn't she? -- knew that the statement before this one wasn't meant to be hurtful. "Have any thoughts of your warrior name?" he asked.

"Well, I've always fancied Dovefeather's name," Dovekit started. "But I guess thats taken, obviously..." she trailed off before emitting a soft laugh. She simply looked up at the sky before speaking again.
"Dewstripe has a beautiful name, doesn't she?" she asked in a dreamy tone. Once Raytail had told her about the she-cat, Dovekit had started to like her alot, and respect her. "She seems very nice. I wish I was like her..." Dovekit trailed off, wondering what Raytail would say.

"Doveflight is also a possibility of a name if you're interested in more of a bird-type of name," Raytail meowed thoughtfully. "But if you want something besides that, Doverain or maybe Dovewhisper or something like that could be nice... Then again, it's all Maplestar's deci--"
Raytail's words got caught in his throat when he contemplated fully what Dovekit had said. He winced slightly at the fact that he had brought the topic of Dewstripe back up, but he went along with what she said and switched to the topic that somewhat involved the gray tabby she-cat. "She does have a beautiful name," he murmured softly to himself, his eyes somewhat clouding with a mixture of affection and confusion as well as sadness.
"It might take a little longer to see who you truly are, but from the few moment I've spoken to you, I'd say you're somewhat like her," Raytail meowed in a truthful tone, giving a slight nod of his head.

Dovekit's eyes lit upas Raytail suggested names and told her she was a bit like Dewstripe.
"They're all pretty names," Dovekit replied. "I think I like Doveflight the best, but you're right, it is all Maplestar's choice." Dovekit sat silent for a while, her grey tabby fur swaying in the breeze.

He could feel something near him, but when he looked around, he only saw Dovekit, and he knew that it was a different presence that he also felt. Who was it? He struggled to understand, when all of a sudden a realization came to mind.
Dewstripe.
"It's her," he murmured softly to no one in particular.
Hope gleamed in his eyes as he said these words, a look of bliss and ectasy flickering across it. If he closed his eyes, he could hear the faint step of her paws, hear the sound of her soft and almost inaudible breathing.
ooc; hooooogawd; writer's block.

Dovekit's eyes flew wide at Raytail's words. She knew what he meant. Dewstripe was here.
Dovekit looked around, but obviously, she wouldn't be able to see Dewstripe. She closed her eyes, but still couldn't feel anything.
Maybe Dewstripe just came to see Raytail. Dovekit looked at her paws, rather disappointed.

Raytail's breath caught in his throat as the prescence neared him. A gust of wind blew by, but to him, it had the whisperings of words caught in the midst of it. Raytail. You've come home. A tingling sensation down his spine caused the tomcat to shiver slightly. He had never dealt with anything this close to StarClan, and this was all new to him.
Dewstripe appeared as a silvery figurine next to Raytail, although she was not visible to any of the cats here in the EarthClan Camp. "Raytail," she murmured softly again, looking at the tomcat in his state of confusion and pure delight. "You're back. Back to stay, I hope."
Her voice from the StarClan domain was translated into mere murmurings in the wind, but Dewstripe knew that Raytail understood the fact that she was here.
The gray tabby she-cat's azure gaze shifted from Raytail to the kit next to him. Padding over a few paces towards the kit, which she knew as Dovekit, she gently touched the tip of her tail against Dovekit's flank. "You continue taking care of him, all right?" she whispered quietly. She knew that her actions wouldn't exactly be all too recognizable to the kit -- just maybe a slight catch in the wind or a faint feeling of something brushing against you -- but it was all she could do.

Dovekit smiled as Dewstripe touched her flank with her tail.
"I will," she said as she nodded, and looked from the space where she assumed was where Dewstripe was, to Raytail, then to the starry indigo sky. She stifled a yawn, and blink slowly and sleepily. In a couple of minutes, she was leaning against Raytail, fast asleep.
{ Argh, writers block. }

"My love. Stay strong," Dewstripe whispered softly in the ear of Raytail, stroking his flank lightly with her tail for a few moments, her eyelids half lowered on her blue eyes, a look of pure tenderness and affection gleaming in them. She could sense a feeling of longing in his demeanor -- she herself had the emotion of longing tinting how she felt.
No. She wouldn't weep. Not now, anyway.
With a final gesture of her touching noses lightly with the tomcat, Dewstripe ascended back to the lands of StarClan where she would proceed to watch over Raytail. Later, she would walk in his dreams when he slept.
Raytail's gaze clouded, but he was grateful for the whispered words and ever so faint touch that he received from Dewstripe. Even though it wasn't much, it was like a blessing that she had gifted him. His ears twitched when he heard the breathing of Dovekit slow down and even out as she slept. He himself wasn't quite sure if he would be able to sleep.

Enough cryin', cryin', cryin'.
His breathing was hard and shaky, body trembling as his lean muscles struggled to keep him upright. The tawny tom knitted his brows together, swallowed hard, and turned to look out briefly from the entrance of the Warrior's Den. Brilliant tawny eyes misted with pensive, troublesome thoughts, Eagledance flexed his jaws, unsheathing and sheathing his claws numerous times before his vision cleared from the burning sensation lurking up his throat. With pupils small and dangerous, he shifted his sight around before finally resting on Wintersong's bowed head.
Eyes fixating on her, the tall warrior straightened with a stiffen, glancing down to the small, dark splotch of wet dust--a tear. His stomach churned. Lifting himself higher, Eagledance stood and padded out tensely to her. Standing in front of her, he gazed down at her creamy-orange-masked face, watching her closely for a moment. His brows were still contorted with the ugly emotion of frustration, but past the barrier of anger Eagledance looked to her with concern and compassion, willing her to look up.
"Is e'erthin' braw, ginger?" he asked stiffly, his voice hard as he tried to push his frustration back.

Wintersong slowly looked up to see who it was who was talking, even though she knew that exotic accent well enough to tell that it was Eagledance.
Through amber eyes, she looked at Eagledance blankly for a few moments before answering.
"Oh, don't worry, its...alright," Wintersong faltered, choking on her words, tears pricking at the backs of her eyes. She couldn't cry now, now in front of Eagledance... especially because she was crying over him. She looked at him, her amber eyes glittering. She shivered as a chilly wind whipped at her silken ginger and white fur.

"He does 'eem a lil' down. Ma'be e's a lil' too chivalrous." "Well, hon', he's a tomcat. What can you expect?" "I s'pose you're 'ight."
The two made an odd pair, just two ordinary, everyday friends seated next to each other in the simplicity and bliss of speaking to each other about Clan matters instead of all the complications that their life had been laid out to be. They traded words in a lethargic manner, since, after all, there wasn't exactly much to do right now.
Their current subject matter of speech was Hailwind, the black-and-white colored tomcat deputy of EarthClan. He did seem a little down, even after Mysticflight's reassurances that he was indeed fit for the position of deputy and that one little piece of prey shouldn't make a difference.
The two cats, Mysticflight and Lunarsky, were more alike than different. Both were robust and lively cats most of the times, and both had rather laid-back temperaments. Their pelts, one snow-white, the other a calico pattern fit for the eyes, were brushing against each other ever so lightly as they traded words. It was always a nice thing to have -- a friend's touch. Whether it was for comforting purposes or just because, it was something to look forward to.

Moonwind curled his tail around Amaryllis's, and gave her a gentle lick on the ear. He rippled his muscles under his sleek black coat once just to see the way Amaryllis reacted the way she had the first time he did it. was he in love with this she-cat? Well, he was starting to fall for her. But he didn't let himself get too attached, in case Amaryllis was just playing one of her little games with him.
