His voice was laced with weariness, but his eyes betrayed him with a bright, humored alertness. In the time that he'd known Ivorywing, Monkeypaw had begun to guess that she was not one to give into random wanderings, so he was a teensy bit curious to find her here. [/ul] (Blehh. *headdesk*)

Dove l x l feather for.the.greater.good A young white feline sat at the edge of the clearing, her fluffy fox-like tail wrapped neatly around her dainty paws, but her gleaming eyes focused on the grass under her. "I wish there was something I could help with," Dovefeather murmured to no one in particular so one could consider herself. "Maplestar seems so tense since that strange tomcat arrived... and poor Eagledance, I'm sure he didn't do anything that bad... the rest of the clan is just in a cloudy haze. Don't they realize their leader is undergoing trouble-some times...?" The ivory she-cat blinked, her voice was as soft as a breeze as she spoke, and even if no one was there to listen it felt rather pleasant to release some of these prickling thoughts.
Dovefeather's crystalline eyes flickered from the grass to the sky, "StarClan, I don't understand this. Is there a reason these things are happening?" the feline asked innocently, only to feel a gentle brush of the wind against her fur. "So you are listening..." Dovefeather murmured, confirming that StarClan was there. Sometimes it felt they had disappeared and other times... it was as though all of those starry cats were at ones' side helping them walk through life.
A sudden sense of loss occurred inside her, and Dovefeather tore her eyes away, and in that moment the wind blew a little harder. The she-cat had her eyes closed and once she felt the cooling breeze she revealed them once more, it felt as though StarClan were telling her not to grieve over the lost cats. After a hesitate heartbeat a smile flickered upon Dovefeather's face, she would continue believing.
A soft voice brought her back to reality, for a split-second she was very confused, she had forgotten she was in EarthClan camp. Dovefeather's azure eyes glittered with mild amusement, perhaps she was the type of cat who would drift away. The white she-cat looked up to see Maplestar sitting a little ways away, he was obviously in thought, the feline wondered what was going through his mind. Soon, Silverwing had come over to the leader on light paws. Her voice was the one that had gotten Dovefeather's attention since she had never exactly spoken to her very much, I suppose she is trying to comfort him. The warrior turned away unable to suppress a bit of annoyance but even so the two cats probably wouldn't be able to see her anyhow. What am I to do nowww?
Dovefeather made a soft hmph noise as she settled down on the green grass, she wasn't the one to get impatient. The warrior closed her eyes briefly before opening them again, with no real purpose for closing her azure orbs in the first place. Its not the right time to hunt, she thought rather irritably, which was unlike her. Suddenly, a bolt of realization rushed through her. Where are Oakheart and Songbreeze anyway? They've been gone for quite a while, what if... She returned to her old self, concern for her Clanmates pulsing through her veins. Once again she drifted away to a whole other world.

At the sight of her apprentice, the ivory colored she-cat's face lit up considerably with a light of a hint of pride and amusement all mixed into one. Careful to not let the emotions bleed on to her face too much, she padded forward to meet the tomcat apprentice, her head tilted at a slight angle to the side as she considered the possibilities of teachings she could explain to him. A medicine cat's education needed to be full and complete for a medicine cat apprentice to be fully appreciated as someone who is ready to become a full-fledged medicine cat. There were things that Monkeypaw still yet had to learn, and Ivorywing was relatively pleased to have a student that was eager to learn.
It was true that medicine cats had a deeper burden than a warrior. For example, there was the fact that they had to love each and every cat in the Clan as if they were their kin, meaning that they weren't allowed to develop and kindle any feelings of true passion. Also, the amount of herb names was enough to make your head spin, although the whole duty of being medicine cat in general was, you could say, somewhat rewarding. She had earned the respect of all the cats in the Clan, being known as the healer in the Clan, the cat that would help someone in need. She was like a safety net; even if you got hurt, you knew that you could turn to the medicine cat for assistance.
"You seem rather excited today," she meowed in a humored tone, flicking Monkeypaw's ears lightly with her tail. Ivorywing had always enjoyed working with younger cats, especially apprentices. So small, so eager to learn... and so rambunctious and conceited sometimes, too, yet that just made them even more lovable to her. If she had chosen a different path, say, a path to become a warrior, she would've longed for kits of her own to take care of. Even now, she sometimes found herself reminiscing and wondering what her life would be like if she had chosen to become a warrior.
No matter. Now, she was a medicine cat, and there would be no changing that. Technically, as her role in the Clan, all the kits were hers, due to the fact that she would probably have to treat every single one of them at least once in their life.
"I thought that maybe we'd do a little fighting, since I think you'd probably like that, and also since medicine cats should know how to fight," the she-cat remarked to her apprentice, wondering how Monkeypaw felt about it. Excited? Anxious? From her experience with tomcats, she knew that most of them would feel exhilarated at the prospect of going out for a fight or two, but who knew? Monkeypaw would be different, or he could be the same.
With her viridian colored gaze, Ivorywing studied Monkeypaw's face for signs of emotions tugging at his face. After all, not displaying your feelings for the world to see was a big characteristic of a medicine cat, was it not?
--x
The cream-colored she-cat sat at a distance, staring down at the ground, unsure of what to do. From underneath her lashes, she snuck a few glances in the direction of Maplestar, yet she wasn't quite sure how he was feeling, and she was feeling rather timid, not sure if she should get near him or not.
Drawing a line in the ground with her right forepaw, she raised her gaze and peered at the tawny colored tomcat straight on for a few moments before her eyes finally strayed to look around instead of training their line of focus on the tomcat leader.
Her tail curved around, subconsciously, and curled around at the base of her frame, resting on top of her paws.
ooc; Ick... I'm not feeling too good right now... x.x;

A rather small white she-cat lay in a sunny spot in the EarthClan camp near the warriors den, a serene look on her face as she bit daintily into a small vole. Her delicate frame and pale blue, violet tinted eyes gave away a look of innocence and femininity, but inside, under the glossy white pelt, the small frame, and pretty eyes, were well chiseled muscled, and her personality was rather laid back, sometimes fierce, and spirited. She wasn't the kind of she-cat to spend hours grooming herself and looking in puddles just too see how pretty she was. She didn't care about looks that much, even though she one of the words describing her could be good-looking. But another could be beautiful. Not just for her looks, but her personality: caring and kind.
She looked around, her violet tinted eyes roaming over the camp and cats. Her eyes caught on Maplestar, who looked sad. Cocking her head to the side slightly, Silverwing wondered what could be wrong. Maplestar had been acting rather odd since that new cat Bear had come to the camp, and he'd just given Eagledance a punishment for something. Slowly, Silverwing returned to eating her vole, her eyes lingering on her leader for a moment before returning then serenely to the camp.

Dove l x l feather for.the.greater.good
... Maybe a fox got them... or perhaps a badger... but what if they are just hanging out together... hmm, something found them...? Dovefeather gazed, unseeingly, at the viridian grass. The ivory warrior blinked suddenly, drawing her glittering orbs away from the ground with a sigh of amusement and half exasperation. Why must I always worry? The she-cat flicked her fluffy tail, drawing it lightly over the grass below. Its like I'm an elder fretting over the next rain fall, Dovefeather thought with a mental shake of her head before raising gracefully to her feline paws. I'm just wasting the day away with such nonsense... worrying over silly things. I might as well see if there is anything I can do.
The white warrior's eyes flickered over EarthClan camp; Silverwing was now eating a piece of fresh-kill, Crystalnose was still huddled alone, Maplestar was in thought, and everyone else was being plain bored. Where is Hailwind? A puzzled expression found its way into Dovefeather's azure eyes, shouldn't he be comforting Maplestar? The deputy should be supporting the great EarthClan leader as of now.
Dovefeather flexed her claws, gazing around some more, snow was everywhere. It blanked the camp like an large ivory sea, the she-cat herself blended into it all rather well, perhaps that was the reason no cat had come to chat with her? The she-cat let out a soft purr before taking a delicate step so that her paw sank into its depths, it seemed soft and fluffy. Soon enough it would harden, to become slippery and scratchy on the supple pads. One might as well enjoy it now instead of waiting.
The warrior took a few more steps forward so she reached the fresh-kill pile, and once there gazed down into it, there had to be something for her to do. Eh, its doing all right. Besides, there probably isn't anything out there to catch anyway... Dovefeather shifted her posture so that she was leaning down, the she-cat took a small vole and lifted it gingerly up before taking it away to where she was previously day-dreaming. As Dovefeather sat down, she finally noticed how sweet smelling the vole was, the warrior smiled slightly before taking a dainty bite. It was absolutely delicious, even if it was a little chilly.

the brown tabby asked softly, a swish of his tail indicating he thought this a good idea. Monkeypaw stretched his feet forward, working out the kinks in his back--and the effect wasn't overly pleasant, as it seemed like his ribs stuck out even further than they actually did. Straightening, the apprentice faced Ivorywing once more and blinked. "I'm ready to go to the training fields whenever you are."[/ul] (*kicks short post repeatedly*)

Maplestar seemed to snap to attention suddenly. He bent his head and sniffed at a small vole in the fresh-kill pile, then picked it out. He moved a tail-length away and settled down to eat.
As he ate, he looked around at the camp. Spotting a few she-cats, he nodded. "Hello Silverwing," he meowed, "Dovefeather. How are you both?" He took a bite out of the vole and chewed hurriedly in case he needed to say something. Rule number one in his mother's- well, foster mother, now, wasn't she?- mind was 'don't talk with a full mouth.' She had held that rule above the warrior code even.
He spotted Crystalrose nearby and let out a soft purr, before turning his attention to the other two cats. It would be unfair to abandon them in the middle of a conversation to go talk to another she-cat, no matter how much he fancied said other she-cat.

Dove l x l feather for.the.greater.good
The fluffy feline had been chewing her meal, savoring its delicious flavors, when a tomcat's voice took her attention. Dovefeather blinked her glittering azure eyes, lifting them away from the vole to rest of the handsome features of her leader, the she-cat smiled warmly at him. It was nice for someone to ask her how she was coming along, the she-cat dipped her head slightly in greeting, "I'm doing all right," she acknowledged lightly then added in an amused tone, "I'm just rather, well, as you say bored." Her English accent touched on her meow as she replied, the white she-cat took another dainty bite from her sienna vole, her fur blowing gently in the chilly breeze.
Her tail flicked as she chewed again, after she swallowed Dovefeather adverted her eyes once more to Maplestar, "How are you?" Dovefeather's tone was softly concern.
The she-cat had always seemed to care, Dovefeather guessed it was because of her kittypet roots, or perhaps it was a nice feature added to her characteristics. The warrior sighed softly as a cold wind brushed through the camp once more, she then used her fluffy fox-like tail to wrap neatly around her feline figure.
I wonder if there is less wind out in the forest, the hollow is too open... Dovefeather thought when a sudden memory slipped back into her mind, "Oh, Maplestar?" she meowed kindly, "Do you still think we can go out? We didn't get the chance before... I'm sure its more sheltered out there and Hailwind will probably make sure the camp is safe as he always has." Dovefeather flicked his ear gently with her tail in a playful manner before wrapping it around herself once more. She hoped very much that we would agree.

Well, he wasn't particularly jumping up and down with glee, yet he seemed enthusiastic enough -- the point in which he still remained calm. Ivorywing had to admit -- she was rather impressed at this. Giving a slight nod of her head to show that she was beginning to set off towards the exit of the EarthClan Camp and in the direction of a clearing that she had in mind that was somewhere in the EarthClan forest.
"I haven't been to this training area in a while, so keep careful track if where we are. We could get lost," the she-cat remarked with a playful and lighthearted tone inhabiting her tone of voice as theh sounds that formed her words issued from her vocal chords in a quiet way. Flicking her tail lightly in a gesture that would beckon for the tomcat apprentice to follow, she padded at a swift pace out of Camp, her head held high.
Ahh... The thrills of fighting. Well, she wasn't quite sure that they could be considered thrills, but a lot of cats seemed to enjoy tearing each other's fur out... well, that was probably in their genes or something. It was something that Ivorywing wouldn't quite comprehend anytime soon, meaning that she had to settle for the simple reason that cats were just who they were and there wasn't much anything could do to change it.
The placidness of the situation and the scenery that she could see outside of Camp from inside was rather nice and particularly soothing to the she-cat, and her pearly white fur blended in rather decently with the abundant amount of snow that had collected throughout the woods, icing everything in an interesting frost. She shivered slightly, but the shiver was mostly out of habit, not because of the fact that she was cold. If anything, she was probably exceedingly warm, since her pelt, like the pelts of other cats, had grown thicker since their were evident signs of cold weather coming in for a stay, the light snowfall that had already fallen was an easy example.
"Beware, though. If you fall on the ground when we're fighting, you're in for a cold, wet ground," Ivorywing remarked, not quite sure herself if the statement was intended as something that was a true warning, or a statement that was just meant for pulling his leg.
IVORYWING TO EARTHCLAN FOREST.

Deerpaw sat in front of the apprentices den, looking around with a placid expression on her face. Her tail sept around idly, making a small furrow in the ground. She was rather bored, with no mentor to teach her anything, so she started to sing. Her voice was light and she was rather good at singing.
"...There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can play but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.
All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need."
Deerpaw finished singing, feeling less bored than she had before, and walked to the fresh-kill pile, looking around for any cat she could talk to.

Near the camp entrance, the silhouette of a cat could be seen, quietly watching the camp. Now, you'd think this cat would be planning to attack, but really this cat had alot in common with the cats of EarthClan-- this cat was once part of a Clan.
The she-cat's long, glossy white fur flowed slightly in the breeze, carrying her sweet scent of wildflowers and honey with it. Her odd grey-black eyes eyes roamed over the camp carefully, hoping to find the leader. She didn't want to just burst into the camp, in case any cat thought she was an intruder.
She was somewhat soft spoken, but could become fierce if provoked. She wasn't vain either. And she had rather good hunting and fighting skills. Her powerful haunches were built for jumping high, because her old Clan lived in the mountains, and had to leap high to catch birds. She had a delicate frame, but was well muscled and a fierce fighter in battle.
What was this she-cat's name? Flightsong.

Maplestar nodded and finished eating quickly. He licked his lips and swiped a paw over his whiskers to clean his face, then stood and stretched. "Lead the way," he meowed. "You suggested it, you lead the hunt." He hoped it would seem like a polite thing, rather than a lazy thing. His Clan was smart, they wouldn't misinterpret something like that. Right?
He felt eyes on his back suddenly and his fur prickled uncomfortably. Without having to look, he knew it was Bear. It felt like the warm, calculating look that his... father (he supposed) had given him the past couple of times he had seen him. Maplestar was rather uncomfortable around his father. He almost didn't like him. If he had really cared, wouldn't he have kept Maplestar at his side?
Under the ruse of grooming the fur on his back for a moment, he craned his neck around. Sure enough, it was Bear, watching the tabby leader. Maplestar caught the older tomcat's eye and glared feircely. His glare was- to his anger- met with amusement, and Bear lifted a paw and spun it in a circle to indicate Maplestar should turn back around to the she-cats. Maplestar glared a moment longer, then turned away, determined to ignore the older cat.
"Shall we go?" he asked, his expression light and happy. The Clan would have to see his strong, happy side, not his angry side. Of course, Eagledance had just seen his angry side, but no other cat would. And Eagledance would have his punishment reduced. By a lot.

"Lead the way. You suggested it, you lead the hunt."
Dovefeather looked down at her unfinished meal before taking a few swift bites, "Okay then! Besides, it would be great to get some blood pumping. I thought I was going to turn to ice here!" She purred before kicking some dirt of the scraps and turning toward the camp entrance. "Is there anyone else you would like to invite, Maplestar?" She asked curiously, wondering if it was just going to be the two of them. "I'm not sure whether any cat would like to leave their warm nest but then again they could be like me, wanting to have a good run!" The feline flicked her tail, glancing around camp, her paws kneading the ground to get going. She was happy to get to go hunting she had to remember to wait for Maplestar.
It would be rude to run off without him.
As she waited patiently for him to decide, she was wondering what they might be able to catch... Perhaps a few brave mice and if lucky enough, a rabbit. Dovefeather refrained from licking her lips at the thought of warm kill, she may have just eaten but obviously her meal was scrawny like all the others on the fresh-kill pile. Getting another piece would be great. The Clan must be fed first, she told herself furiously, ashamed she had been thinking about eating on the hunt. How stupid could she get? "Stupid enough," she mumbled under her breath, quiet enough not be heard.

The ivory colored she-cat's eyes lit up in joy, for she had found the leader. He had a strong and leading air to him, and the white she-cat that was with him seemed to deeply respect him.
Flightsong took a few steps forward, her pelt glinting in the sunlight, hardly standing out with the glittering frost around her. She began to walk toward the leader, her mind racing. She hoped this would go well.
"Um, excuse me," she mewed softly, "I'm not an intruder, but I would like to join your Clan.
