Wintersong slowed her pace as they got into the forest, the frosted trees glittering, and the snowflakes falling lightly onto everything. She stopped next to Eagledance looking in awe at the beautiful forest. "It's so beautiful," she whispered to him, her voice soft and melodic. Her amber gaze came to him, drawing in his features--his friendly expression, his muscular body, his long legs. She awaited him to reply, wanting to hear his accent once again. "You know, some cats call leaf-bare Winter." Wintersong continued to gaze in wonder at the forest.

"Really?" he asked, shifting his brilliant golden eyes to her silky ivory coat, orange patches upon her body becoming flecked with flakes. "Oi, it's gettin' plenty cauld out, eh? Th' snaw's fallin' like there ain't no tomorraow!" Eagledance let out a light, dainty chuckle, closing his eyes breifly as his massive lungs puffed in and out fresh, Leaf-Bare air.
The golden tom corrected himself, smiling a crooked smile in embarassment. "Fit me ginger, I s'pose you con't understan' much of what I'm sayin'. Back in m' Hielan 'ome tha's our na'ive tongue y'know."

"Yeah, it is cold," she mewed, a slight shiver coming through her spine, her glossy coat rippling, sending sparkling flakes to the already white ground. "And don't worry about your accent. I love it," she said, true sencerity in her melodic voice. She looked into his golden eyes with her own glittering amber ones, her affection for Eagledance were showing into them. She blinked, not wanting him to see, and looked down quikly. She rested his gaze apuon him once again, a smile playing on her lips.

Eagledance blinked. "Really? Och." The golden tom curled his tail up into the air jubilantly, a crooked smile painting itself upon his ivory lips. He glanced back down to her, having to crane his neck downwards because of his immense height, and caught her sheepish looks as she flickered her deep eyes to him and back down to the earth. A sudden sense of affection crossed over him, however the reason was quite different than it appeared; the tawny feline of african descent remembered a silver she-cat that gave him the same look. Swallowing, he dropped his eyes, tipping his massive ebony ears backwards as a few snowflakes caught in the obsidian tufts that stood up on the tips of his ears. Silverpaw, that was her name.

"Well, I guess there's no point in hunting, now that it's snowing. But we could just enjoy the beauty of it, if you don't mind the cold. Or we could go back to camp, where it's warmer. I don't mind," Wintersong mewed to Eagledance, another little shiver coming down her spine. She longed to move closer to Eagledance, so their pelts were touching, but thought it to be too bold a move. I love you, the words that were in her head, but wouldn't come out of her mouth. She looked at him with glittering amber eyes, wondering if he felt at least the littles bit the same way.

"S'pose we shoul' start headin' back t' th' camp, eh?" he replied, a gentle thought prickling his soft ebony ears with pretentious question. Golden eyes flickered to a light drift of glittering ivory flakes that swept along a shivering bush just behind the she-cat, and he laid his pupils upon the spot for a fleeting moment, imagining the silver beauty to be dancing in it. His heart leaped, making his thin tail twitch with excitement.
Then, he realized his imagination was getting over him, warping him into false safety.
Swallowing, Eagledance turned back towards the orange and snow-white feline, blinking apologetically. "C'mon ginger, don't want yeh catchin' a might cough, now do we?" The long-limbed tom turned and picked up his small paws in a steady, easeful trot, his gait and exotic, lengthened stride suggesting he was in no hurry.

Anger flashed inside Wintersong, but she kept it down as she looked at Eagledance. She knew Eagledance was looking for Silverpaw. She pressed ever so slightly to his pelt, her silked ginger and ivory pelt shimmering and shining as she moved in the sunlight, her amber eyes glittering slightly for affection for Eagledance. "Yeah, I guess we should head to the camp," she replied to him, her heart pounding as her pelt mingled slightly with hers.

He had felt her muscles shift slightly with tension beneath her silken ivory and peach coat, and upon instinct analyzed this as slight irritation. As she pressed herself against him he had felt this, yet with the very same motion he felt comfort, a certain happiness calming him in the knowledge that he felt completely safe with her.
Long limbs carried him through to the border of the heart of camp, where he blinked easily, his piercing tawny eyes scanning the snow-covered ferns and mosses that usually blanketed the earth. But now it was all white, crystal-like flakes that set a serene scene he could not bear to describe, for the beauty was unimaginable in his eyes. The coolness of the snow against his small paws was welcomed, the moist, quiet airs kisses to his massive obsidian ears. Beautiful, beautiful; that was all he could think of.
Eagledance trotted further along with Wintersong, keeping his head tilted upwards into the graying skies, brilliant golden eyes watching the flakes fall as they padded beneath naked trees.

Creeping along silently as if he were a detective about to stumble upon a vital clue to his case, Smokeheart couldn't help but feel absolutely delighted at the fact that he had been the one to deliever the message of Eagledance's... betrayal to EarthClan to Maplestar and that he would be the one to tell Eagledance that Maplestar needed to speak with him. Oh, how enjoyable all of this was! No one could even blame him; it was all Eagledance's fault. Any normal warrior would have immediately told Maplestar -- it was the warrior code after all, wasn't it?
Suddenly, his mind flashed back to Lightbreeze and instantly a longing filled within him. Well, he would have to tell Eagledance quickly and then return back to his love. Padding along, he twitched his ears in a rather uncomfortable way; the forest was eerily quiet because of the fact that it was nearing the beginning of the icy chills of leaf-bare. Snow was already falling and Smokeheart paused every once in a while to shake the ivory colored frozen bits of liquid from his smoky-black pelt.
EarthClan cats scent neared him. Peering from behind a nearly dead bush, Smokeheart let out a joyful purr. He had found Eagledance at least and he was with... Wintersong. If Smokeheart had stumbled upon this scene and he hadn't even known about Silverpaw, then he would have just gone off back to EarthClan and would have fumed about how Eagledance managed to get a she-cat. Still, Smokeheart had witnessed the scene with Silverpaw of SkyClan and now it was time to tell Eagledance about Maplestar's messages.
Stepping out from behind the broken bracken and dried-up foliage, Smokeheart made his appearance. "Eagledance," he meowed, "and Wintersong; good day to both." Although his face looked utterly pleasant as if it were a good day today [which it was, for him at least], he was secretly bubbling with happiness inside. "Maplestar told me to find you and tell you that he would like to speak with you," he meowed, finally telling the message to Eagledance. He stood there, awaiting Eagledance's reacction. A flash of surprise flickered across his lean face, disappearing as soon as his jaws parted to reply to the testy warrior whom had appeared from what seemed nowhere. "Ah, guid morn', mon." Well, this had been quite unexpected. This warrior, whom he had learned the name to be Smokeheart, being polite to him? It wasn't a rarity, however Eagledance new well enough to be friendly back and ignore the nasty looks the warrior often gave him. But no matter, the leader wanted to see him. He stole a balking glance back to Wintersong, golden eyes calm with a certain blankness that he was taught to keep when confronted with a special experiment. "Well? I shou' be gettin' m'self to 'im then.. See you efter, ginger," he said to her as he stretched his immensely long legs in a series of large, lithe bounds towards camp.

Deciding not to say anything in response, Smokeheart quickly bounded off through the forest. He was going back to the EarthClan Camp, yes, but he was going to take a longer route. Perhaps he would be able to find a piece of prey and bring it back to the Clan and make a small meal for one of the younger cats or the elders. There were currently no queens in EarthClan, but Smokeheart did wish for Lightbreeze to fall in love with him.
That was why Smokeheart wasn't dashing off after Eagledance to witness the tomcat warrior's destruction; he figured that if he spotted a piece of prey that would easily be turned in to fresh-kill immediately, he would be able to make it back to the EarthClan Camp just in time to present the fresh-kill to Lighbreeze and impress her and he would be able to witness Eagledance's demise. Smokeheart, however, taking one glance at the baren EarthClan woods, decided to give up on his mini-hunting plan. He would just go back and sit with Lightbreeze and maybe she would fall in love with his charms.
