The gray-blue pelt of the she-cat apprentice snagged on thorns and underbrush. Impatient, however, Lilacpaw simply unhooked her fur from the grasp of the branches and thorns and simply darted off, eager to catch some fresh-kill for EarthClan. It was certainly needed, by the looks of the low pile in Camp.
With her ears pricked and her senses at ready, she looked around for any sign of prey, the things that Battooth had taught her earlier passing through her mind quickly. Perhaps she could try to catch a bird with the proper crouch this time, like he had showed her.
For a few moments, Lilacpaw's eyes turned in the direction of a faint rustle in the leaves, although it was nothing but the wind slightly moving them. She gave a mental sigh of frustration, but she continued to look around for something else that actually /was/ a piece of prey and would feed at least one or two hungry mouths back in Camp.

A burst of cream-colored tabby fur came out of the leaves and onto Lilacpaw, pinning her down. "Gotcha!" he mewed happily, his light green-amber eyes dancing as he looked at Lilacpaw.

Lilacpaw nearly unsheathed her claws in surprise, but when she found that it was just Wildpaw, she relaxed. She purred as she wriggled out from underneath Wildpaw's grasp. "Nice one," she purred, sending a delighted glance in the tomcat apprentice's direction. Looking around, she attempted to spot any sign of prey, her tail twitching with impatience as she awaited even the smallest mouse to make a mistake and step out of line, enough so that she could spot the movement. Wildpaw saw how irritated Lilacpaw was. "Don't worry", he whispered, not to scare the prey away. "We'll catch something!" He quickly scented mouse, and heard a muffled scurrying sound. He dropped into a soft crouch, his paws light and his steps quick. When he was close enough, he pounced, and killed the mouse with one blow.. Soon enough, he heard more mice, coming from a hollow in a tree. A family! How the camp would be grateful for the mice. "Hey, Lilacpaw!" He called softly. "Come and see whats in this tree" (no rhyme intended). He chose his words carefully, trying not to say: "Look what I found", because he didn't want to sound boastful and big-headed.

Lilacpaw's ears pricked as Wildpaw managed to catch a single mouse. Her ears picked up the sound of other mice moving about quietly within the tree. "Nice find," she meowed, swiping her tongue over her jaws, she crouched down, the knowledge of Battooth's lesson earlier flashing through her mind. Keeping her steps light so that the mouse wouldn't feel her movements in the ground, she proceeded to move forward quickly. Waiting at the edge of the tree, her eyes darted around to catch any sight of any of the mice. Suddenly, a single mouse darted out. Lilacpaw's paw flashed out and quickly knocked the mouse out. With a swift whack on the head, the mouse was dead. Satisfied that she had caught one piece of fresh-kill, she tossed a few dead leaves over it. Sending a glance in Wildpaw's direction, she continued to watch the hollow intently.

"Do you think we should go tell the Clan, or just hunt them all, then bring 'em back?" Wildpaw asked, using his usual slang. He looked at Lilacpaw, his green-amber eyes dancing with pleasure of being with her. It wasn't that he was in love with her, it was just that he liked being with someone like him, energetic and wild.

"Hunt them all first," Lilacpaw purred in response. She had been about to attempt to mimick the way he spoke, but had decided against it in case he took any offence of any sort. Crouching down with her ears twitching with excitement, she waitd until another mouse had darted out. Once one of them had, she streaked quickly forward to grasp it in her paws and take the small creature's life away quickly. "There should be more where this came from. Probably two or three more," she meowed cheerfully. At this rate, this amount of fresh-kill would be probably able to feed some of the warriors -- or at least half of them. Currently, in EarthClan, there were no queens or elders.

Wildpaw looked intently at the mouse den, stealing a couple glances at Lilacpaw, only to notice that she was...well...quite pretty. Wildpaw shook his head, trying to concentrate on the mice, and soon enought one popped out. He darted out his paw, and knocked the mouse out, killing it with one blow. He waited for the next one to come out, probably the last one, but left it to Lilacpaw to catch, although he still watched intently, incase she should miss the mouse.

As the next -- and probably last -- mouse dashed out of the den, Lilacpaw's paw flashed out and knocked the mouse on its side. With agile speed, Lilacpaw took the creature's life quickly, raising her fresh-kill up in the air proudly. Dropping it so that she could speak properly, she meowed to Wildpaw, "I think that's it." Lowering her head, she quickly picked up three of the mice that they had caught, ready to return back to Camp. Hopefully this would be enough to feed at least a few hungry mouths back at Camp. Wildpaw opened his mouth to protest that he should at least carry the mice that he caught , then closed it, thinking that it would be foolish and unnecessary to protest over such a small thing. He trtted up to Lilacpaw, picking up his own mouse, then drew away as thier fur touched. He kept a brisk pace, wanting to get back to camp and show everyone the mice they cought, and suddenly thought again of how he should be carrying the other mouse he caught.

Although Lilacpaw pricked her ears at the fact that Wildpaw drew away as their pelts had just come into brief contact, she didn't voice anything out loud -- partially because she was carrying the mice and partially because she didn't want to annoy Wildpaw by asking him so many questions. She followed him with a quick and lithe steps, her paws moving quickly to move her frame. Sooner or later, the scent of EarthClan cats became stronger and she knew that they were nearing the EarthClan Camp.
