Songbreeze moved easily through the EarthClan woods, glad for the serene peace and quiet the hung around. Since most creatures had migrated to some place warmer once the colder weather had been approaching, the forest was as quiet and eerily silent as ever. This, however, didn't seem to bother Songbreeze. In fact, she rather liked the placid surroundings, although that certainly meant that there wasn't much prey around, sadly.
A carefree and breezy expression was written across Songbreeze's face as she moved along through the woods, although she was determined to remain at least the slightest bit alert so that she could attempt to snatch and kill a few mouthfuls of prey for the many hungry mouths back at Camp that needed food. Oakheart strode along side the she-cat Songbreeze. His eyes lids half closed over his eyes lazily as his gaze flowed slowly over the forest around him. He stretched then continued to walk, "if only there was enough prey" he murmured with a flick of his tail then flexed his claws as though he was imgining sinking them into fresh-kill--which he was. The tabby tom blinked slowly, his amber eys gleaming in the sunshine.
His ears pricked as he caught the faintest scuffle in the undergrowth, he glanced at Songbreeze then leapt into a bush. His tail disappearing for a moment. After a brief pause he stepped out, hanging limply from his muzzle was a scrawny rabbit. The tomcat stalked over to a sandy spot of earth and dug a hole then placed the fresh-kill inside. When he finished he returned to his love with a glint of pride in his amber eyes.

"Nice catch," Songbreeze meowed to Oakheart, watching him intently as he disappeared momentarily and then reappeared holding a rabbit. Indeed, the rabbit didn't have much to eat on it, but it, at least, was something to feed some of the EarthClan cats with. "Now don't get too big-headed over it," she added in a teasing tone, flicking the tomcat warrior's ears with her tail, a thing that she did to many cats when she was amused.
Well, at least he hasn't fallen asleep on his paws... yet. Songbreeze thought to herself, a purr rising in her chest with a slight bit of laughter. He must know what he has in store for him if he does! she added to her thoughts. She could barely contain numerous purrs as she continued padding through the forest, her eyes darting side to side in order to see if there was any hint of prey anywhere.

Oakheart nudged her playfully then padded on. His ears twitched when he noticed Songbreeze's continous purrs, he gave her ear a swipe with his tongue. "Calm down now you might choke on all them purrs, next thing ya know is that Ivorywing is trying to save ya!" he returned the teasing with a mrrow of laughter. "And what would I do with no song in my heart and no cat to love?" he asked, affection gleaming in his flaming amber eyes. He touched his muzzle gently to her own to emphasize.
As a rough wind blew past he pressed himself against her, and used his muscular figure to block her from th merciless cold. Oakheart purred as he padded alonge side the she warrior.

Songbreeze gave another purr at Oakheart's words, but she had to admit, they actually made sense. "For once, Oakheart, you do have a point," she meowed, although the purrs just kept on coming out of pure amusement. When she had finally ceased to purring, she took in the rest of Oakheart's words. Prodding his side with her paw, she meowed, "flattery'll get you know where in this world."
As she watched the tomcat warrior block her from the pure bite of the harsh cold, her eyes laced with amusement. "I'm not a little helpless kit, you know," she meowed in a good-natured tone, although she had to admit -- she did enjoy the warmth that Oakheart gave her side.

Oakheart dipped his head in understanding to her second comment, "I can try, can't I?" he mused as he turned his eyes to look at her face. He returned the jab, "I noticed you like to poke, hm?" he let out another purr of laughter then look forward, his eyes narrowing against the cold. "Maybe ahead, we could find somewhere that isn't raging with wind" he meowed to her and half to himself. Having a short pelt the cold could get to him easily though he didn't show it by even a twitch of a whisker on the outside. Then added after a heartbeat, "so that m'lady doesn't jab anyone else!" he purred with happiness.
The warmth from her body felt nice agaist his side.

"It's fuuu-unn!" Songbreeze meowed, referring to his first statement -- or rather, question. She dragged out the word 'fun,' causing it to have two syllables instead of just a single one. She had no objection as he jabbed her side; after all, she deserved it, didn't she? "Indeed, if it pleases you," she meowed, entertainment at the current situation dancing through her eyes, although she felt as if she was going to soon turn numb from the cold that seemed to surround the EarthClan Forest and shroud and suspend it in an everlasting coldness that would never cease until the sun's rays shone warm again during new-leaf. "Where do you suggest?" she asked, deciding to let him chose instead of her.

"I think there is a cave up ahead, we can shelter inside it" he meowed as his eyes locked onto the stone. He entwined his tail with Songbreeze's and padded somewhat faster so that they could reach their destination. He glanced back at her encouragingly and purred. Alone in a warm cave with Songbreeze, what more could their be?
Affection burned in his eyes as they rested on the features of her face.

A cave? Songbreeze blinked in surprise. Why did the /tomcats/ always know the secret places while the she-cats were left to just find them with another tomcat? Strange. Perhaps Oakheart's mentor had shown him different places within EarthClan, different hidden nooks and crannies, each good for their own special purpose. "A cave?" she meowed quietly, "when did you learn of /that/?"

The tomcat smirked, "I have my ways" he meowed as they slowed near its entrance. "Here we are" he murmured as he slipped inside, the air was warm and cozy. The floor had soft moss, he remembered finding this place as an apprentice. Well he tripped into it but he didn't tell anyone but once he found it he made everything nice like a secret hideout. The tomcat padded all the way inside and seated himself.
"Nice, eh?" he asked with a grin.

Songbreeze tilted her head to the side, regarding the place that Oakheart had brought her to. It was warm and cozy, she had to admit that, and it sheltered her from the worst of the cold outside. "Well, it's not the most gorgeous place I've been to, but it helps to fend off the wind and cold," she meowed, amusement making her eyes warm as she said the words. "It's strange that this cave would be here in the middle of the forest," Songbreeze murmured more to herself then to Oakheart, contemplating how the cave had gotten to where it was currently standing. Oakheart pondered to her second comment, his tail twitching as he thought. How did this cave get here? It was half in the ground so you had to walk into a bramble tunnel to get inside. But how did it get here in the first place? "I'm not really sure how it got here either" he paused then added after a heartbeat, "as long as I'm out of the wind I'll be okay with wherever it came from." His eyes gleamed with amusement as he gazed at Songbreeze.
The tabby tom would be happy as long as she was with him.

"All right, whatever you say," Songbreeze responded in a good-natured tone, flicking Oakheart's ears lightly with her tail. Not knowing what else to say, silence fell for a few moments while Songbreeze decided on her next words. "Anything new?" she asked in a nonchalant tone, looking at Oakheart as she awaited his answer. The tabby tom curled his tail over his paws once the silence took place but returned his attention back to Songbreeze one she asked the question. He blinked, his mind working up a good answer that would restart the conversation between them. "Not much, I hunted on the first rays of dawn and caught-" he stopped abruptly, his amber gaze flicking over to the entrance of the cave where small ivory specks dotted the foliage of the forest floor. He stood up recently and padded forward to investigate, “snow” he murmured to her and half to himself. Since when had he last seen the frozen liquid?
He glanced at Songbreeze with his gaze fill of gentle affection then twined his tail with hers, “look” he meowed softly. He took a step forward, his pink pad touching the freezing, ivory sea in a slow manner. “When has EarthClan last seen snow?” he asked the question though it was not meant to be answered, he took another few pawsteps so that they could see the sky above them. His breath stirred the air, showing a misty cloud that quickly vanished. The wind wasn’t as harsh now either.

Soft white colored bits and pieces descended from the sky, falling on their special place upon the ground, compacting on one another until they formed a thin, icy layer upon the ground. Songbreeze looked up at the falling snowflakes that were currently dusting the EarthClan forest in a layer of the sparkling frozen stuff. She forgot about Oakheart's answer to her question and kept on gazing up at the sky, wonder lighting up her pale green eyes as she tried to watch the paths of each and every snowflake that fell. Soon, however, she got rather cross-eyed from doing so and halted her attempts to do so. Instead, she just looked at all the wonder and beauty around her as the snowflakes kept on drifting down in their own different patterns.
"It's beautiful, this snow," she murmured softly, a truthful look in her eyes to show that she truly meant what she said. The light of playfulness in her had dispersed for these moments, showing that she was truly in awe of snow. It was a rather odd fact that Songbreeze was so captivated by the snow, and this fact nearly made her purr out of amusement, yet she kept her vocal chords still so as not to disturb the serenity that the forest contained as it snowed.
