it's so easy to get lost inside. a problem that seems so big at the time. it's like a river that's so wide. it swallows you whole.
Thoughts flitted about wildly in Lilacpaw's mind, wondering what she could say to Wildpaw. All of a sudden, her hyperness drained out of her system as she padded absent-mindedly throughout the EarthClan Forest. If you had seen her, her eyes were gazing about in a trance-like state as if she were daydreaming.
Suddenly, Lilacpaw looked up. To her surprise, she found that she had wandered to the spot that she and Wildpaw had been to earlier. Lilacs. Moving up to the fragrant flowers, she lowered her head and breathed in their sweet, comforting scents. Settling down next to a group of them, she placed her head on her paws, confusion still passing through her eyes as she attempted to sort out her feelings.
How did she truly feel about Wildpaw? For sure, he was a likeable cat, but was she really ready for this thing known as... love? Closing her eyes for a few moments and letting the scent of the lilacs wash over her, she tried to figure out her feelings.
"I mean, I like Wildpaw, but do I... do I... love him?" Lilacpaw murmured to herself.

Take my hand, take my whole life too.... Wildpaw walked into the haven, the scent of lilacs filling his nose. He froze as Lilacpaw's scent came over him also. He stared at her, trying to contemplate what she was thinking. Was she thinking about...him? Well, of course she was, she was going to go think about what he said, but did she like him as more than a friend? ...'Cause I can't help, falling in love with you.

She needed to figure out an answer for Wildpaw. Soon. Thoughts continued to pass through her mind, intertwined with numerous inquiries. Lilacpaw closed her eyes for a few moments, trying to sort out her feelings. Was she ready to truly love Wildpaw? If she didn't take a chance now, who knew when she would ever be able to tell something like this to Wildpaw?
But did she love him? That was the single question that had singled itself out in Lilacpaw's mind and was currently troubling her. It had just been so sudden when Wildpaw had murmured that string of words in her ear...
Breathing in the scents surrounding her and attempting to draw some peace from them, she opened her eyes, startled as she came across Wildpaw's scent. From behind a group of lilacs, she looked, seeing a patch of familiar orange fur. Wildpaw.
Did she have an answer for him yet? Confusion still remained in Lilacpaw's eyes as she attempted to determine the correct answer that would leave both of them happy. She could say that she was still thinking, but how would Wildpaw feel after she said those words? Was she ready, however, to say that she loved him?
After all, she /had/ had a rather nice time with him; he had padded around probably the whole EarthClan Forest with her and had even shown her this spot. She did like the tomcat apprentices whose energy matched hers -- or at least, equaled hers well enough.
"Wildpaw," she murmured softly, wondering if he had heard her say his name aloud in a quiet tone. She cast her eyes shyly to the ground, feeling rather akward in this situation as Wildpaw was just a few cat tail-lengths away from him.
while you're sittin' around thinking about what you can't change and worryin' about all the wrong things time's flying by, moving so fast you better make it count, 'cause you can't get it back

Wildpaw silenced Lilacpaw with a swish of his tail over her muzzle. "It's fine. I just came here to think. Mind if I sit with you?" He asked softly, pressing his body lightly against hers, his tail slowly starting to twirl around hers, the tips just twined. He put his head on his paws, staring at the small waterfall falling onto the moss covered rocks. Where he first fell in love with Lilacpaw...Only this morning...

"Oh... Sure," Lilacpaw meowed in response, rather taken aback at his question. Well, at least he wasn't angry with her. She scooted over slightly to make a little more room for Wildpaw, but made sure that their pelts were still brushing lightly. For a few moments, she followed Wildpaw's gaze to the waterfall that fell onto rocks lined with moss, spraying its surroundings with a gentle mist.
With that, Lilacpaw lowered her head into a similar position that Wildpaw's head was in. She closered her eyes again for a few moments, still thinking over what she could say to Wildpaw. Did she love him? She knew she liked him as a friend, that was for sure. But could she honestly and truly say that she loved him.
More thoughts flitted about nervously in her mind. Indeed, if she said it, she knew that she had to mean it. Did she mean it, though?

Wildpaw felt Lilacpaw tense up, and untwined his tail with hers to stroke her back softly with it, the retwined it right back to its earlier position. He didn't say anything, but just tried to reassure her that everything was alright. He was usually bouncy and unromantic, but he could be calm and sweet.

Lilacpaw twitched as Wildpaw's tail untwined with hers. She stiffened slightly. Was he angry at her now? As he began stroking her back lightly with his tail, however, she relaxed. She was fairly curious about the fact that he didn't use words and speak to her, but she decided against questioning him, in case it should spark up any traces of anger that Wildpaw might still have.
He was sweet, that was for sure. He was hyper, just like her. She liked him; that was for certain. But did she love him? In Lilacpaw's mind, once she said the phrase of 'I love you', she knew to not go back on her vow to Wildpaw. She went over it in her mind once again. Did she like him? Yes. Did she love him? She probably did. But was she sure? Second-guessing herself was one of Lilacpaw's faults in this current situation. She had to quit second-guessing her decision and to just spit it out.
But how could she? Well, she had to start somewhere, didn't she? "W-W-W-ildp-paw?" Lilacpaw stammered out, her voice quivering slightly as she meowed out the tomcat apprentice's name. Her current state was highly unusual; who knew that one day Lilacpaw, so famed for her hyperness and never ending energy, would be sitting next to a tomcat and just barely managing to say his name? Wildpaw was getting excited as Lilacpaw said his name, ready to talk to him. Maybe ready to tell him she loved him? But he stayed calm, just barely, and answered Lilacpaw, showing only tenderness in his amber eyes, but not intense, so she couldn't think straight. "Yes, Lilacpaw?" He mewed, using her name to address the she-cat.

She had to get it out or else she would never be able to tell him. But did she- no. She wouldn't second-guess herself. She knew what she had to say and she would say it without a trace or hint of a doubt. "Wildpaw..." she murmured softly, suddenly groping for words that she could say. For once, Lilacpaw couldn't think of anything to phrase her words properly. "I..." she began, then faltered. Suddenly, she looked up and looked at Wildpaw, trying to meet his gaze fully, seeing a slight tenderness in them. Instantly, her heart warmed when she saw the glimmer of emotion in Wildpaw's eyes.
"I love you," she meowed softly to Wildpaw, surprisingly not hesitating.

Wildpaw's eyes lit up, and he instantly twined his tail all the way with Lilacpaw's, and he licked her ear gently. "Thank you", he murmered. "I love you too," he repeated, grateful for the she-cat for saying she loved him. He twined his tail a bit tighter with Lilacpaw's, and continued to lick her ear, his body pressed against hers.

Lilacpaw couldn't help but let out a series of warm purrs as Wildpaw's tail entwined with hers tightly as he ran his tongue lightly over her ear in strokes that soothed her fluttering nerves. She took a mental sigh of relief; she was glad to have the hard part done with. Now she just had to live up to her words.
Could she do it? Yes, she could. She wouldn't second-guess herself; it was too bothersome. Looking up, Lilacpaw saw little bits of white falling to the ground. "Look, Wildpaw, it's snowing," she murmured softly to the tomcat apprentice.

"Beautiful", he mewed back to the she-cat. "Like your eyes", he added, attempting to be romantic, but probably annoying her with his flattery. He chuckled mentally, thinking he was gettig to be the slightest bit like Inkpaw of SkyClan, always trying to please Dreampaw.

"Don't tell me I'm going to lose your normal bubbly and hyper self to this lovey-dovey tomcat all the time," Lilacpaw meowed in a teasing tone to Wildpaw, although she couldn't help but let out a small purr at the tomcat's compliment. It was always a boost to her self-esteem when someone told her something good about her.
Even though she was still seated with Wildpaw in a placid state, energy still sparkled in Lilacpaw's eyes as she looked at Wildpaw for a few moments, then turned her gaze back up to the sky again. Snowflakes descended through the chilled air, making their own frosty paths down from the sky and onto the earth, resting delicately where they were until a gust of wind decided to push them onwards from their resting spot.
