Onespot watched as a ginger she-cat walked right into camp and right over to Ravenflight. Figuring from the look in his eyes that they knew each other, he let them be. Ravenflight wouldn't let a cat come into the SkyClan camp and walk right over to him without her having a good reason, right? He looked back at Mai. "Looks like you're not the newest one," he meowed gently. "I hope you stay here," he continued. "A Clan is always open for more able bodied warriors." He turned away from the siamese she-cat, glancing back at the ginger. He decided against interveining and instead walked over to Lilypaw. After seeing the tears, he figured going over to at least try comfort her would be the best thing to do. "Lilypaw," he meowed. "What's wrong?" His tone was gentle and kind, totally unlike him. He normally wasn't as gentle as he was being all of a sudden. What had happened to the distant and quiet warrior he had been just a little while ago?

What a dumb question. Amaryllis thought to herself smugly. Of course she would come. She would come and win his heart and then... break it. Picking up her paws, she moved quickly, following the tomcat to the ridge she had just climbed.

"Inkpaw", Llypaw managed to speak through her tears. "And Dreapw. I love Inkpaw so much, but he loves Dreampaw, and she is starting to ovehim back." Lilypaw looked up at Onespot, her turquise gaze meeting his. Hopefully he woud understand her, and not yell at her for being "selfish" as every cat called her.

Onespot's eyes filled with something like pity, but also with knowledge. "Lilypaw, have you ever heard of a she-cat called Owlpaw?" he asked. That had been a while ago, so she probably hadn't. The ginger-headed tom settled down and continued. "She was my apprentice seasons ago, when I was a young warrior. We had always been close, because I had always loved kits. Since I loved kits, I helped out the nursury queens, and got to be near their youngsters. Me and Owlpaw had bonded quite easily, so it was only natural that I became her mentor when she was old enough. After a while, and after we had trained for a while, I realized that I was in love with her. But she was snatched away. She was killed in a fight with a badger. Me and Flamefoot were assesing her huunting skills and it snuck up on her, and was hungry." His eyes filled with loss and a horrible sorrow. "Not a day goes by when I don't think of her. She was my first love, and I'll never forget her. But after she had been killed, me and Flamefoot found the strength in our anger to drive the badger off. If she had never died, we might not have been as angry, and that badger may have killed all three of us and moved on to the Clan."
He paused for a long moment. "I know it sounds strange, but I'm rather glad that I had to go through that," he finally meowed. "Loosing her taught me a few things. The first thing it taught me is live in today. Don't spend your time moping. Move on. The second thing it taught me is sacrifice. Sacrifices are a part of life. Sacrifices like sacrificing becoming a parent and becoming medicine cat, or deputy, or leader. Sacrifices like giving up a loved one for the good of the Clan. A final thing it taught me is about love. Even if you loose it, it's still love. Just remember it. That's all you need to do."
He got to his feet. "I hope that taught you something," he meowed. "And if it didn't I hope you enjoyed the story." He moved towards the warriors den to hlep Mistheart try and pacify his sister.

'So does that mean he wants me to give up Inkpaw?' She asked herself. 'No! I can't give him up! He /will/ love me! I'll do whatever it takes.' Lilypaw wanted Inkpawto love her so much. To be the one sitting next to him, instead of Dreampaw. The one he just told he loved, /not/ Dreampaw. But she meant nothing to him. Tears started coming down her face again, and she watched the two apprentices through blurred eyes.

"Wait here, sweetheart."
Glancing back with her fiery sapphire eyes to the apparently irritated kittypet, the bold she-cat shouldered her way through the crowd, picking up her small paws in elegant motion as she moved towards the leader's den. She had not thought to groom herself from the scent of Mai, and after all, guessed that the strong leader already knew of the scent lingering and floating around the camp. With these thoughts a slight dim of her confidence swept through her, a specifically troubling thought overwhelming her. Foxflower paused in her steps, brows pulling together. Her eyes halted upon thin air, breathing becoming shallow and steady.
"Foxflower?"
Smokesoul's voice startled her, and the thickly-coated silver warrior turned around with a start, the nape of her neck prickling as her pupils dilated. He arched his neck at her reaction, ears flipping backwards at once as Smokesoul swallowed uneasily. "You all right?"
She nodded and smiled. "Yeah, of course I am Smokesoul. Don' worry 'bout a girl like me," she replied with a beam.
This obviously did not satisfy the grey warrior, and as she continued towards the leader's den, he released a sigh that shook his lungs horribly. His gray coat sank back to his skin as the large-pawed warrior shut his eyes, dipping his head low. "This is too hard," he whispered.

Bravepaw buried his face into Silverpaw's fur, wondering what was troubling his love. He himself didn't feel tired though the silver she-cat was asleep, her breath quiet and soft. He breathed in her heavenly scent and smiled to himself. Again the reason why Silverpaw had left so abrutely he didn't know. What he did know was that she was staring at Inkpaw when it happened. The the clumsy tomcat hurt his beloved perhaps? Anger surged through his veins and with a gentle lick on Silverpaw's head he slipped out of the apprentices' den to confront the black apprentice.
Once out his eyes scanned the camp to find Inkpaw sitting next to Dreampaw. Stalking up to him he let out a hiss of fury, "What did you do to Silverpaw?" he growled with a lash of his grey tail. His dark blue eyes burned into Inkpaw and were filled with his hostility.

Dreampaw, having more wit than Inkpaw, answered faster than Inkpaw was able to. "He didn't do anything," she hissed, not enjoying to be confronted while she was sitting with another cat and conversing quietly. "What makes you think Inkpaw's to blame?" she added, viridian and azure gaze glaring at Bravepaw.
She wasn't sure what had gotten into the other tomcat apprentice; he had seemed so calm and placid when she had been with him on the ridge before. She awaited his answer, but twitched her ears slightly when she heard Inkpaw reply.
"I didn't do /anything/," he meowed, repeating Dreampaw's words as he looked at Bravepaw with hazelnut eyes more filled with confusion than anger. His eyes filled slightly with affection as he heard Dreampaw's sharp reply to Bravepaw's words and hope swelled within him that he would finally succeed in getting the silver tabby she-cat to love him as much as he did her. Bravepaw shot a scorching glare at Dreampaw then hissed quietly, "I wasn't talking to /you/. You have /nothing/ to do with this." His blazing eyes returned to Inkpaw. "You know exactly what you did" he paused to tower over the black apprentice "You hurt Silverpaw." His mind whirled with his hostility and affection.
He was the calm tom cat, not the one to rip off another cat's fur! Yet he just felt his blood pound, the stupid black cat must be blind to not be able to see that he hurt the silver she-cat's feelings. Grey pelt bristling he bared his teeth and flexed his claws. He wouldn't pounce but he wished so badly that StarClan would let him.

Lilypaw watched as the two toms, one of wich she loved more than anything hissing at each other. She walked lightly, feeling lighter than usual from so much crying. "/What/ is going on?" She asked, little wet marks ran down her eyes from crying, and her sea- colored eyes were still wet.

"How did he hurt her?" Dreampaw shot back in response, not caring that Bravepaw wasn't speaking to her. Her silver tabby fur bristled as she added on to her statement, "You don't see her injured and limping with blood trailing after her, do you?"
Dreampaw was about to go on when Inkpaw touched his tail lightly to her mouth. "Dreampaw, this is one of the times when you don't speak. I can answer for myself," he meowed, affection filling his eyes as he relished the words that Dreampaw had said in his defense. Turning to Bravepaw, he looked calmly at the other tomcat apprentice. "What did I ever do to her?" he asked nonchalantly.

Honeypaw watched as the apprentices quarreled. 'Better stay out of it', she thought to herself. Instead, she walked over to Onespot. He was helping Mistheart with something. "Hi guys", she mewed, her spirited voice like honey. She felt a bit of affection for Onespot, but wondered if he felt the same way back, or at least a little. The sun was high now, and it glinted off her golden tabby pelt, making it shine like fresh honey, shining in the sun.

Mai stared after Foxflower as the she-cat padded away momentarily. She didn't really want to be left alone in the middle of the Camp clearing with just this white pelted cat with a penetrating golden gaze that made her feel rather... shy and timid -- although she was oftentimes like that. "What do they call you here?" she asked softly as she looked at him.
What do they call you here? The voice of Mai woke Cloudpuff from his trance-like state of staring at her. He blinked his golden copper eyes a few times and gave his chest fur a few licks to cover up for his spacing out. "Oh-Well-I'm Cloudpuff," he stammered out. For the millionth time, he wished he had had a different name besides Cloudpuff. The she-cat would probably laugh and never speak to him again.
"That's an interesting name," Mai meowed, much to Cloudpuff's surprise. He had been certain that she would have been absolutely humored by the name and would've been purring with laughter by now. He looked at her, his golden colored eyes sweeping over everything about her and found that she was quite attractive.
"T-t-thanks," he managed to respond. Cloudpuff didn't really like the anxious feeling he felt right now -- why was his voice quivering so? Had he groomed himself enough? Did he look handsome in the she-cat's eyes? All of a sudden, things that he had never thought about when he had spoken to Dreampaw now came tumbling into his mind.

"That mouse-brain Foxflower thinks she can bring a kittypet into a warriors camp?"
Flamefoot angry meow could be heard from inside the warriors den. Onespot sat in the entrance, waiting for a place to jump in as Mistheart tried to keep Flamefoot quiet. The ginger-headed tom turned around when he heard Honeypaw. "Oh hello," he meowed, turning his body to face her. "How are you today, Honeypaw? Me and Mistheart are just trying to get Flamefoot to shut up about Mai." He glanced over his shoulder at his sister again, who was standing in her nest with her fur bristling furiously, before the tom turned back to the apprentice.
