"I didn't do anything," Inkpaw hissed to himself, stalking away from the position he was just in. He settled down as far away as he could from the fresh-kill pile so that he didn't tempt himself. Sooner or later he would have to start the next part of his vigil as Northstar's punishment -- not speaking or getting close to Dreampaw unless she spoke or got close to him.
"And because of that, I'm not allowed to love him?" Dreampaw hissed, her anger flaring up again as her tail smacked against the ground with an audible noise. Her frustration mounted as she looked at Lilypaw.

"No!" Lilypaw hissed at the she-cat. "I thought you would understand, Dreampaw. I guess no one does" Lilypaw was furious at Dreampaw for thinking so selfishly, only worried if she couldn't love Inkpaw.

"How am I supposed to understand? Am I supposed to just give up Inkpaw so you can come through and take him? Dreampaw meowed with agitation. "Sure, call me selfish, but you just want Inkpaw to yourself, don't you? I can't change how he feels, so I'm sorry that I can't do everything you want me to!" she hissed, her tail making contact with the ground in even harder blows as her frustration grew at a rapid pace.

"Well, thasts not what I meant!" Lilypaw cried with agitaion, her white ears pinned to her head. "I want Inkpaw to be happy, but...well... I loved him, and you hated him, and then you just came and starteed to love him!" Lilypaw didn't know what she was saying, she just knew that all she wanted was for Inkpaw to love /her/, not Dreampaw. "I don't care if you're going to call me selfish, because I'm not. It's called love!"

"What do you expect me to do about it?" Dreampaw hissed, her tail stopping its violent lashing against the ground as she regained her composure and her steady temprament. She looked at Lilypaw, her azure and verdigris colored gaze staring directly at the she-cat apprentice, wanting an answer.
How come Lilypaw just couldn't let her be? Inkpaw loved Dreampaw and Dreampaw loved him back -- why did Lilypaw have to interfere with everything Dreampaw did and still expected Dreampaw to understand all of the actions that were made by Lilypaw?
Inside, Dreampaw's anger burned like a coal that was just sparked by flame, but she kept it inside, not wishing to lash out at another Clanmate. She could easily see where doing that would get her -- her example was Inkpaw.

"Well, I hope you two are happy together, not giving a care about how I feel" Lilypaw sighed. Dreampaw just didn't care, did she? She didn't understand, and she didn't care. -xx- "Azelealeaf! Azelealeaf!" Ravenfeather called as he dashed into camp, looking for his beloved she-cat. His silver-blue eyes were wide, looking frantically for Azelealeaf.

Starkit padded up to Inkpaw. "Are you okay?" She asked him gently. " "You know, Lilypaw really, really, really loves you", Starkit added out of no where, for she and Lilypaw were like sisters. "You should really consider giving her a chance. Shes really upset. I know this isn't your problem"

"I try, but you go on having to try to make me understand something as complex as /this/?" Dreampaw asked, frustration glinting in her eyes as she looked at the she-cat apprentice. "What do you want me to do about it?" she repeated, "Because you love him, does that mean that I'm not allowed to love him? I ask that question and you say that that's not what I meant, so, pray tell me, what /are/ you trying to ask me? If you want Inkpaw to be happy, you won't try to change how his heart feels and I certainly can't do that for you!"
Dreampaw shook her head to herself mentally. What was she supposed to do? Just back off and let Lilypaw have Inkpaw? Dreampaw herself wasn't quite yet sure about her emotions -- was she truly falling in love with Inkpaw or did she actually just like having a warmth at her side, or even perhaps both?
--x
"So? Does that mean I just /have/ to really really really love her?" Inkpaw shot back, frustration passing through his eyes. "Why can't the whole Clan just leave me be with who I want to love? No one can change how I feel -- that's the purpose of having a mind of your own so that you can make your /own/ decisions. It's my decision if I want to love Dreampaw and it's /her/ decision if she wants to love me!"

Azalealeaf's ears pricked slightly as she heard a familiar voice call her name. She raised her head, wanting to figure out who it was. Sooner or later, she recognized the voice to be Ravenfeather's. She was hurt that he had left the Camp with some orange tabby she-cat /rogue/, but she was secretly glad beyond belief that he was back.
To her delight, she saw that the she-cat wasn't with Ravenfeather when she padded out of the warrior's den. "Ravenfeather," she meowed lightly, her face expressionless to hide all her emotions -- something she was good at, despite the fact that she could get quite hot-headed.

"I just wish things were different, that Inkpaw loved me, and you like him as a friend, and I loved him, and everyone would be happy", Lilypaw wanted Dreampaw to understand, she truly did, and that was how she felt about the situation. She met Dreampaw's green and blue gaze with her own ocean-colored one. --xx-- "I know", Starkit looked down at her paws. She hated to make Inkpaw mad, because she admired him so much. "I know how you feel about her, but just, please consider how Lilypaw has felt ever since Dreampaw started to like you. I mean, how would you feel if Dreampaw fell in love with another tom?" --xx-- "Azelealeaf!" Ravenfeather exclaimed as he approached the white she cat. "Ever since I went out with that orange she cat, I could only think about you. I-I think...I'm falling in love with you.", He confessed to the white she cat.

Silverpaw's frosty colored eyes flickered open. With a soft sigh she stood and groomed herself. At first she felt as normal as ever until her old emotion came rushing back. Silverpaw took it out on her fur making it look glossy from the furious licking she was giving it. Then the beautiful she-cat stood and delicately trotted out into the opened putting placid features on her face.
As soon as she was out Bravepaw came dashing over to her and nudged her over to Inkpaw until her nose touched his in a soft contact. Feeling embarressement toward Inkpaw and fustration toward Bravepaw she took a step back so that her small nose didn't touch the back apprentice's own. Flashing a look a look at Bravepaw she sat down and looked at him.
"May I have an explanation?" she asked her soft, sweet voice.

"It would be," Dreampaw responded truthfully, "but it isn't, and I will take the blame for it if you put it on me. Hearts can change but only by the creature weilding it. Time is the only way to get through this situation -- whatever happens, happens." Dreampaw's multi-colored gaze continued to meet Lilypaw's straight on, unafraid to back down and look away to show that she had true confidence in what she was saying.

"What am I supposed to do about it?" Inkpaw meowed, an expression crossing across his face that made him appear almost like he was frowning, "are you suggesting that I'm supposed to /not/ love Dreampaw?" He blinked, tilting his head to the side as he watched the kit. To her latter comment, he meowed in response, "But she doesn't love another tomcat, so it's fine. Cloudpuff's now busy with a new cat, apparantely."
Turning to Silverpaw, he tilted his head, wondering why she needed an explanation. Who knew what Bravepaw did? "I don't know," he meowed, "ask /him/." With his words, Inkpaw sent a hazelnut glare in Bravepaw's direction, expecting the tomcat apprentice to open his mouth and tell Silverpaw what he thought was wrong.

It had crossed Azalealeaf's mind that she wanted to shove the same hurt Ravenfeather had given her back to him as karma, but now she didn't want to. She blinked at him as he heard his words, disbelieving them and yet wanting to believe in them. All frustration directed towards Ravenfeather vanished as he said his statements. She purred as she responded, "That's not a bad thing, now is it? To tell the truth, you're not half bad yourself." Amusement danced through her eyes before she opened her mouth to answer fully. "All right, all right. I do admit, I've been fond of you lately... Fond enough to maybe... love you?" she meowed.

Ravenfeather's eyes glowed with happiness as Azelealeaf spoke her words, her melodic voice ringing in his head. "You do?" He asked her. Suddenly, a dark thought came into his head. the happiness drained from him as he thought about when they both joined StarClan, what would he do if two cats loved him? -xx- "I know", Lilypaw answered, her voice heavy with unceartanty and sadness. "So, what are you going to do?" She asked Dreampaw. 'What an I going to do?' She asked herself.

"Of course I do," Azalealeaf purred, looking at Ravenfeather and sensing his happiness. After a few moments of waiting for another response, she tilted her head and looked at him. Something in his demeanor had changed; something as if he were confused about what to do for something. What was wrong? Did he not want to love her? "What's wrong?" she meowed softly, looking at Ravenfeather, trying to meet his gaze so he would know that she truly cared about him and what was wrong with him.
--x
"Go for Viridianpaw," Dreampaw suggested. She didn't exactly know what her response was for -- was it supposed to be with humor or for actual seriousness? Would Lilypaw actually take her seriously and think about Viridianpaw? "He's not that bad of a tomcat apprentice," she added thoughtfully.

Ho hum. What ever shall I do today? Viridianpaw thought, amusement passing through his eyes at his own simple, silly thoughts. Of course, he would never say these things aloud because he was more sophisticated when speaking out loud, but in his mind where no one could hear him, he would often make up jokes and laugh over them by himself.
He did have friends -- Inkpaw and Dreampaw were just two to name. Viridianpaw oftentimes laughed at Inkpaw's attempts to get Dreampaw, but now that more complications had been added to the situation, Viridanpaw now acted as the main advisor to Inkpaw. Viridanpaw was actually quite good at giving advice. The mere fact that Viridianpaw didn't talk as much as other cats gave him the advantage of being able to think to himself quite clearly, even when there wa a large amount of noise nearby that would have ordinarily distracted another cat.
Looking around Camp, he spotted Inkpaw quite easily, for Inkpaw's pelt was black -- a contrast to Viridianpaw's light gray pelt. Observing Viridianpaw with a rather queer expression on his face, Viridanpaw easily deduced that Inkpaw was talking on the subject of Dreampaw. After being Inkpaw's friend for so long, Viridanpaw knew the habits and expressions that Inkpaw had when he talked about a certain subject. The two were close enough to be brothers, although they just weren't.
Well, that's Inkpaw for you. Viridanpaw thought in his mind as he looked at Inkpaw with a humored look flickering across his face as he looked at his best friend. Looking around even further around Camp, Viridanpaw spotted Dreampaw's silver tabby coat gleaming in the sunlight. He purred as he saw her; she was another one of his closest friends although Viridianpaw was sure that Dreampaw was made more for the likes of Inkpaw, not him. Speaking to Dreampaw, looking quite serious was Lilypaw. Viridanpaw tilted his head to the side as a glimmer of affection passed through his emerald green gaze as he looked at the white she-cat apprentice. He was rather fond of her, although he didn't quite know how to put it in words. How would he ever tell it to her? She was probably still hooked on trying to get Inkpaw, wasn't she?

"I guess so", Lilypaw mewed, anger growing in her azure eyes. "But you can't change /my/ heart, Dreampaw. I know you just want Inkpaw for yourself", she hissed at Dreampaw, before walking away. -xx- "Its just that...Well, I was thinking about if we loved each other, would Gentlepaw be angry? And when we joined StarClan, what would happen with you, me and Gentlepaw?"Ravenfeather felt guilty about putting those problems on her shoulders. "Don't worry about it." Ravenfeather said gently, intertwining his tail with hers, moving close to her.
