Flamefoot's ears flickered backwards in surprise as she heard his question. "I think I'll be becoming Dreampaw's mentor," she meowed, "As to the crush thing... Well, sorta. He's handsome and not like me at all, but I still like him." She purred softly, hoping to confuse the handsome tom, but she doubted that he would get confused about something like that. He was too thoughtful and careful. He was probably the only cat who could calm her down, besides her brother of course. As many cats knew, calming Flamefoot down was a difficult thing to accomplish.

"Dreampaw, eh?" Icefoot remarked with amusement passing throug his eyes, "Inkpaw's love." His ears twitched at Flamefoot's words at one of his latter inquiries. Someone handsome and not like her, yet she still likes him... Who? Icefoot blinked with not understanding, but looked away from Flamefoot a while to contemplate the ginger she-cat warrior's words. Handsome? Well, would he qualify himself as handsome? Not like her; he certainly was pretty much /nothing/ like Flamefoot. Icefoot blinked in surprise. Was it him? Could it even /possibly/ be him? "I wonder if it's me..." Icefoot meowed, although he had intended to think the words in his head. Why had he said them aloud? Stupid, stupid, stupid Icefoot.

Flamefoot laughed. "I wonder if you're right," she teased gently. She gave his ear a final lick and settled back on her haunches. "You're calm- I'm basically not. And I think you're pretty good-looking. But don't go getting a big head about it." She purred and wound herself around him, stopping to touch noses with him.
Flamefoot had secretly liked the tom for what had seemed like ages to her. She had told no one about these feelings, not even Mistheart. She was suddenly reduced to an Inkpaw/Dreampaw-esque kit, acting lovey-dovey to the cat she had just professed her feelings for. Of course, she didn't know what his response would be, but acting angry and tempermental all the time got a litle taxing sometimes. A little bit of flirting wouldn't hurt, right?

Icefoot was rather surprised at the ginger pelted she-cat's warrior's boldness to wrap her frame around his, but decided not to argue with what she was doing. Besides, she was warm, if nothing else. He gave a few purrs as his ears took in the sound of her praise, delight shining in his eyes as Flamefoot touched her nose lightly to his. The spot felt rather tingly, but he thought that wasn't anything deranged.
"And you've got a fiery temper and are rather... slow to forgive," Icefoot meowed in response in a good-natured tone, trying to say Flamefoot's minor flaws as quickly as he could so that she would know he wasn't a tomcat that simply told a she-cat all her brilliant features in attempt to flatter her, but he knew that he wouldn't get to carried away; he didn't exactly wish to anger Flamefoot.
"But you're pretty," he added for good measure, but didn't proceed to explain more about how her eyes sparkled or how her pelt seemed to glow with a fiery tinge in it; he was simply content to think about it in his mind and believe for certain that was true instead of telling Flamefoot so. Jadefeather, a she-cat of the ivory shade, the top of her head froested with silver, and fading down her back. She looked around with rich light blue eyes, each with a very think line of black around each eye, and saw two cats, a black tom apprentice and a silver she-cat apprentice. She sighed, for she had always daydreamed about the tom who would sweep her off her paws, and coo to her like Inkpaw was currently doing to Dreampaw.
"Bonjour--I mean, hello, you two. How are you lovebirds?" She asked, her light, airy voice tinted with her french accent. After she spoke, her eyes wandered around the camp, looking for her brother. Seeing as he wasn't near, she focused her gaze on Dreampaw and Inkpaw, admiration and longing in her gaze. Her tail waved around, swishing gracefully in the air.

As the she-cat warrior padded up to them, Dreampaw immediately sat straight, feeling rather embarrassed as she heard Jadefeather's words -- especially the single word known as lovebird. It wasn't exactly a possibility for cats to blush -- thank goodness -- but Dreampaw felt her face tingle slightly with embarrassment. She loved Inkpaw, though, and he loved her; what was so wrong if a cat knew that they favored each other? "I'm fine, thank you," Dreampaw responded cautiously, then in order to be polite, added, "and you?"
Inkpaw, not being one to pay attention to the surroundings about him, continued on purring as he rasped his tongue over Dreampaw's ear in long and soothing strokes, excitement sparking within him as he replayed Northstar's words over in his mind -- he and Dreampaw would both be getting mentors soon! Perhaps they'd let them train together; he would surely think that was a favorable decision. His head jerked up as Dreampaw flicked his side with her tail lightly, making him snap to attention. "Y-y-yes, oh, hi, Jadefeather!" he managed to get out quickly as he looked up to see the warrior standing in front of him and Dreampaw.

Flamefoot laughed softly. He pretty much nailed it with his description of her temper. And she didn't mind the compliment either.
The ginger-pelted she-cat settled down next to the tom, leaning against him. "Thank you," she meowed. She closed her eyes briefly, wondering if this was what Onespot had meant when he said he got a warm tingly feeling all over him when he had been with Owlpaw- and she was sure he would start saying that about Honeypaw.
She glanced up sharply as an all too familiar scent caught her attention. Her fur bristled slightly. Mistheart stood just before her. "What is it?" she demanded, her voice nearly a hiss. She remembered Icefoot's wish that she be "civil" to Mistheart and tried again in a nicer tone. "What do you need Mistheart?"
The silvery-gray female shuffled her paws. "Flamefoot," she meowed, "I know how you feel about kittypets and rouges and stuff like that, but I just thought maybe you ought to give Mai a chance. Cloudpuff's smitten with her, and I kinda like her myself. She seems good and loyal." She met Flamefoot's amber gaze with her own.
The ginger she-cat slowly nodded. "I'll give her a chance," she meowed, refusing to say anything more. "And Mistheart," she added, "You're a good friend. I might not like everything you do, but you're a good friend." She blinked appreciatively at her best friend and the gray she-cat's eyes flooded with relief. The two touched noses and Mistheart trotted away.
Flamefoot watched her friend go, then turned to Icefoot. "Thanks for keeping me level," she meowed. "I've only met a few cats who can succesfully do that." She purred softly, glad that her short fued with her friend was over. She normally held grudges much longer, so either Icefoot had a huge effect on her, Mistheart was too good of a friend to let go, or a combination of both.

"I'm fine, thanks. And hi again, Inkpaw", Jadefeather mewed, laughter in her smooth voice. "I wish a tom loved me like you two love each other", Jadefeather said, wistfulness showing in her light azure-colored eyes as she looked at the two apprentices.
Ravenfeather licked Azelealeaf's ear, purring with tenderness and love. "Good", he purred at Oceanwing's statement. "I love you, Azelealeaf", he mewed into her ear softly, then looking back at his mother, pride in having Azelealeaf for his love.

Icefoot watched as Flamefoot and Mistheart rather... made up their friendship, restoring it back to its rightful place. Any cat would've been surprised at Flamefoot managing to keep her temper, but Icefoot simply nodded. "I haven't done anything; I've just told you something. /You/ were the one to keep your temper in this situation," he responded simply and truthfully, truly believing so, since after all, only one single cat could control Flamefoot's temper in the long run: Flamefoot herself.

"Awww, don't worry, Jadefeather!" Inkpaw meowed, spirit dancing in his hazelnut eyes as he looked at the rather crestfallen looking she-cat wrarior. "Eventually you'll find a tomcat for you! Maybe Twilight-" He was immediately cut off by a sharp jab in his side from Dreampaw's paw. "Ouch! What was that for?" he asked, trying to withstand the quick flash of pain that she had given him.
"Twilightleaf's her brother, mouse-brain!" Dreampaw hissed in Inkpaw's ear. Looking up at Jadefeather, she quickly meowed to cover up for Inkpaw's stupidity, "I'm sure you'll find the correct tomcat warrior for your affections one day, Jadefeather!"
--x
Azalealeaf relaxed and let Ravenfeather run his tongue lightly over her ear, a purr sounding lightly in the air as he murmured softly in her ear that he loved her. Although she hadn't doubted it from the start, actually hearing the words strung together in a sentence made it all the better in her mind.
Oceanwing purred, seeing the term "young love" at work. Her gaze flickered briefly to where Inkpaw and Dreampaw were seated, and laughter entered her features. "Looks like both my sons are doing well in this love area," she meowed, settling down in front of Ravenfeather and Azalealeaf, tilting her head to the side to regard the two cats and their pelts for a few moments, and to perhaps draw some entertainment from them. Twilightleaf made his way into Camp, looking rather flustered with his pelt having been whipped mercilessly by the harsh wind that whistled throughout the SkyClan territory. Looking around, he instantly recognized his fellow Clanmates. Seeing his sister speaking with Inkpaw and Dreampaw -- the two little lovey-dovey birds of the Clan -- he flicked his ears in acknowledgement of her. Looking around some more, he spotted Aspenwind speaking with Rosepetal.
Making his way to Aspenwind and Rosepetal, he boldly settled down beside them, his tail brushing lightly against Rosepetal's own tail. "Bonjour madmoiselle Aspenwind et madmoiselle Rosepetal," he meowed, his thick French accent weaving in and out of his voice as he spoke to the two she-cats. He sent a nod in Aspenwind's direction while he sent a purr to Rosepetal.
Aspenwind, being used to Twilightleaf's speaking in French, gave a purr of amusement. "Hello, Twilightleaf," she meowed as a simple greeting, not bothering to start with other languages that were extremely complicated. She did have to admit, however, that the speech Twilightleaf used was rather pretty. Indeed, the way Twilightleaf spoke it to Rosepetal... Well, you could say it was rather... romantic sounding.
Rosepetal blinked in surprise as Twilightleaf boldly made his way to her and Aspenwind. She decided to match his French with her own Spanish, although she pretty much had no clue what he was telling her. "Hola, Twilightleaf," she meowed, deciding to keep it simple.

Flamefoot purred, delighted as she realized that what he said was rather true. She had been able to control herself for what seemed like the first time. "Good point," she meowed. "I never thought of it that way." She wondered briefly if Icefoot had had different training than she had, or a totally different type of mentor. He was her polar opposite, and yet they seemed nearly meant for each other. Flamefoot shrugged and purred softly to herself, pressing herself against the tom.

"Well, now you have thought of it in that way," Icefoot responded simply, delight rippling through him as Flamefoot pressed against him. "Anything new?" he asked again, trying to make some more conversation. Icefoot wasn't exactly the type of tomcat to sit with the she-cat he liked and just praise her; to him that was rather pointless.

The uniquely-coated leader blinked her deep mossy eyes, pupils dilating as she began coming back to the reality side of the cursed life that destiny ran. Peach-tipped ears flicked forwards limply, her dulled eyes glinting with the slightest bit of thought, locked upon the kittypet's pampered, beautiful creme coat. "Well, Mai, we'll hold your naming ceremony at moonhigh tonight. Cloudpuff, stay with her until then."
Northstar turned with a solemn movement, and with a flick of her long tail, dismissed them as she walked slowly to highrock, leaping up with a few elegantly-awkward bounds to the back of the head of the massive boulder. Swallowing, she closed her eyes, kneading her lithe paws against its cool surface as the winds of the ending of Leaf-Fall caressed her skinny body; a body that was too skinny.
---x
He followed her with haste, annoyance and malice prickling his thick obsidian coat as the invisible feline sprinted up beside the she-cat. "Mai? Who is this Mai?! How long has it been since I came? Has there been another outsider?" he shouted to her in blind fury.
The deceased tom still new that his actions were futile, yet by a bottled-up rage he spat out his hateful words. Anger fueled Moonrun to the uttermost point of numbness, his long tail bristled out as his lean muscles bulged from beneath his black skin, claws unsheathed and flexing irritably.
In a mad succession of shaking breaths, he calmed himself down, blinking open his multi-coloured eyes and setting them upon Northstar as he walked beside her, settling himself down and wrapping his tail around her emaciated body. Moonrun winced. "Don't do this to yourself, Northstar," he whispered to her sorrowfully.

Cloudpuff nodded in a serious manner to Northstar's direction, but inside he was practically dancing with delight at having to obey Northstar's orders. "Mai," he meowed, adressing the she-cat that he was rather... smitten with, you could say. "What would you like to do?" he asked, his golden gaze warm and filled with pride as he looked at the cream-colored she-cat that he was the temporary mentor of.
"I don't know," Mai meowed softly, her Japanese accent sounding in her voice despite the level of it. She looked up and shyly met Cloudpuff's gaze with her even sapphire blue one, feeling a warm sensation run through her as she did so.

A soft-furred white she-cat walked into the SkyClan camp towards Moonrun, and looked sympathetically at him. "What's wrong?" Gentlepaw asked the handsome warrior. In her violet eye, he was a bit handsome... Had she just thought another cat besides Ravenfeather was /handsome/? and...he was pretty nice...
But he loved /Northstar/, not her. Gentlepaw just continued to watch Moonrun and await his answer.
