Love at first sight? Well, for Inkpaw it obviously was. The moment he had laid eyes on Dreampaw, he had instantly fallen in love with her. But from Dreampaw's point of view? She was still extremely confused and didn't know what to do. Might as well say love at first light instead.
The two cats padded along with Inkpaw attempting to continuously brush his black pelt against Dreampaw's glossy silver tabby coat. After a while of recoiling from his touch, Dreampaw got tired of doing so and she just kept ambling along whenever Inkpaw's pelt touched hers. After all, he did help keep her rather warm considering the chilly morning air that surrounded the ridge and held it incased. Inkpaw's clumsy paws fell in step with Dreampaw's dainty but tough paws. SkyClan cats were well adapted to the ridge -- having lived their all their lives was the most probable reason why.
The dawn light and the rising sun caused beautiful pastel colors of pink, blue, purple, and all the rest to blend together to form brilliant glowing-like hues within the sky. Inkpaw halted while Dreampaw sat down at the edge of the ridge, looking out in the distance to see the distant trees that were EarthClan territory. He sat down next to her, their pelts touching against each other every so briefly.
Dreampaw shivered slightly as a rather harsh wind blew across the ridge, ruffling both Inkpaw's and her pelt. Inkpaw scooted closer to her, causing warmth at her right side. A purr worked its way through her chest into her throat, sounding in the silence that surrounded them. Quickly, Dreampaw tried to let out a coughing sound to hide the purr, hoping with all her might that Inkpaw hadn't heard it. Hot embarrassment tingled through her pelt at the fact that she had /purred/ when Inkpaw's coat had touched hers.
What was wrong with the whole entire world today?

Lilypaws thoughts were inturrupted when she saw Inkpaw. Alone at last-- the hope in her eyes vanished as she saw Dreampaw. She walked over anyway, glancing at Dreampaw. Maybe she would go hunting and leave Inkpaw here, and he would feel how romantic the moment was, and give her a chance! Her steps like faint raindrops, she reached Inkpaw. "Hi, Inkpaw, want to go hunting? Just the two of us?" she asked, glancint unceartanly at Dreampaw.

"And what about Dreampaw?" Inkpaw asked, looking back at the silver tabby she-cat apprentice that he loved. His tail touched hers lightly, nearly entwining with Dreampaw's tail before she pulled her own tail away. Well, it was only fair since after all, she wouldn't fall in love with him in just a few hours -- although he had completely fallen in love with her in that short amount of time.
Northstar's punishment for tomorrow loomed overhead dangerously like a dark raincloud about to burst even though it was the dawning of the day before that. A shiver rippled through him although no one could see it or sense it -- it was just something inside him. He pressed even closer against Dreampaw, but she pulled away ever so slightly from him so that he didn't tip her over -- something that he was very close to doing currently if he had pressed against her even further. Silverpaw sighed softly, her eyes focused on the ridge ahead. Lonelyness clawed at her mind and thoughts as her slim legs brought her nearer. If only Inkpaw had come without having to ask if Dreampaw could come too. Then, perhaps, they could have raced or tried to catch the biggest prey piece. Instead, here she was, alone and hungry.
The silver apprentice stopped when she reached the deep ridge, her claws unsheathed in her instict as she touched the cool stones. The rock was not yet heated from the sun. Her icy-blue eyes began to find a path down and when she did so she had leaped in graceful movements. Once Silverpaw reached the other side she sat down.
Her eyes moved over her surroundings until it landed on Inkpaw and Dreampaw. A rather odd feeling enclosed her and she had to force herself to look away. Was it jealousy? Confused, uncertian thoughts tugged at her mind until she bowed her head and closed her eyes.

"But..." Lilypaw pause, then shot a pleading look for help from Dreampaw. "I wanted to just go with you, maybe train together a bit? Please?" Lilypaws ocean colored eyes were filled with hope, hope that maybe, just naybe, Inkpaw would realize that no one could ever love Inkpaw the way Lilypaw did.

"Go with Lilypaw," Dreampaw murmured quietly to Inkpaw, able to see that Lilypaw was feeling rather hurt inside. She flicked her tail over his ears. "I'll be fine, silly. I can easily take care of myself. You of all tomcats should know," she meowed to him, her viridian and azure eyes glinting slightly with a hint of amusement. Of course Inkpaw would know -- how many moons had she been giving him a piece of her mind whenever he tried to do something with her?
Remembering the orders Inkpaw had been given by Northstar, Dreampaw meowed, "Why don't you hunt for me?" Inkpaw had to catch prey for any Clan member that asked, curtisy of one of Northstar's punishments. True, this single punishment didn't really start until tomorrow, but Inkpaw's eagerness at managing to impress Dreampaw got the best of him and he responded to Lilypaw, "Why don't we go hunting?" "Okay", Lilypaw answered more cheerfully.
She padded on, hoping Inkpaw would catch up. She really wanted him to at least, amybe start to like her, not exactly love, but like her as more then a friend.

Silverpaw's ear caught the faint words of Inkpaw. He really didn't care about her did he? When she asked him there was a whole different conversation. Feeling a little hurt inside she stood up and trotted over to the black apprentice.
Her eyes glimmered as they looked into his own. With a soft voice - which was normal for her- she meowed, "I'm sorry about earlier, Inkpaw" she paused for a moment then continued "may I come with you this time?" she asked then gave his ear an affectionate lick in her apology.

"I'm with Lilypaw, although I'm hunting for Dreampaw," Inkpaw meowed in response to Silverpaw.
Eagerly, Inkpaw rushed forward and across the heather clumped ridge. His tail was flicking back and forth with anticipation of catching something that would easily win Dreampaw's heart. Looking around, he spotted a crow perched on clump of heather, cawing loudly to goodness knows what. Inkpaw tilted his head, instantly shifting inside a heather bush that was near the one that the crow was on. It was highly unusual that a crow would come here, but it was a big one and Inkpaw wanted Dreampaw to praise him about what a big and eccentric piece of prey he had caught.
With his hazelnut eyes, Inkpaw watched the black colored bird carefully, waiting for the quick movement that determined when the crow would fly. Watching intently, he waited until the bird raised its wings to flap. Instantly, he leaped up into the air and claws at the crow's side, bringing it down from its flight with his weight. Together, they crashed onto the ground, although Inkpaw ended up in much better shape than the crow was. With a swift bite to the neck, the creature was dead. Purring with delight, he felt sure that Dreampaw would be impressed with him.

Silverpaw nodded to Inkpaw then watched him stalk away eagerly. Her frosty eyes fallowed him until he disappeared. The silver she-cat let out a quiet sigh then bounced off in search of prey.
Her eyes narrowed against the gleaming sun then she saw it. The biggest rabbit she had ever laid eyes on. Its home in the ground was right next to it though. With a soft hiss of annoyance she decided to try her luck. Maybe impress one of the other apprentices.
Her claws slid out smoothly as she slithered quietly through the heather, her paws swift. Without letting her eyes draw away she slowly began to rock her haunches, claws flexing in her anticipation. With a twitch of her whisker she shot foward with excellent speed. The rabbit looked up in surprise and tried to get down its hole though its plump body moved to slow. The apprentice leapt high into the air, causing a deadly shadow to fall upon her prey. Her teeth met its fur and for a moment the two wrestled until the she-cat bit down hard. The animal made a small squeak, his eyes dimmening until it was no more but a meaty, plump, piece of fresh-kill.

Inkpaw buried the corpse of the crow and looked around for more prey that he could catch, but alas, since it was late leaf-fall, there was almost no more prey to catch. He thought he had spotted a mouse, but it simply turned out to be a twig underneath a bunch of leaves. He had hissed with frustration as his paws he clasped over a simple stick instead of at least the scrawny body of a mouse.
Another time, he was chasing a vole that was pattering about quickly, but he didn't see the hole that lurked at the base of a tree. The vole had scrambled down into it, and sadly, Inkpaw couldn't fit in -- and ran straight into the tree. Shaking his head at his own foolishness, he rubbed his nose against the ground, attempting to let the layer of frost cool the throbbing down a bit. He thanked StarClan that Dreampaw hadn't been there to see his moment of when his dignity had crashed.

Lilypaw watched Inkpaw catch the crow. "Nice catch." She said softly to him, not to scare away the prey.
Soon, she smelled rabbit. In a few heartbeats, she was chasing the rabbit, her long legs giving her an advantage compared to its short chubby legs. She trotted back to Inkpaw with a rather plump dusky brown lump. "Hey, Inkpaw", she said, putting her rabbit dow. "Umm, I was wondering if we could just take a walk for a while, while we hunt?"

After Silverpaw had buried her catch she went on looking but couldn't seem to find any more prey. Quite fustrated she set off to see what Inkpaw managed to salvage together. She lifted her nose up to draw in the scents of the forest and caught his a little ways off. With a little swish of her tail she bounded after the tomcat.
Her eyes and nose detected him, she slipped through some heather and quietly made her way over. "Inkpaw, did you manage to get anything good?" she asked then sighed "all I got was this rabbit. Huge really but nothing else. What about you Lilypaw?" she asked then sat down, watching the sunrise slowly come up. "Gosh...its so cold" she murmured to herself, trying to use her fur to warm up. Her ears pricked as Lilypaw's suggestion, "a walk sounds great, as long as we're out of this wind" she meowed, amusement glittering in her eyes.

Lilypaw gave a mental frustrated sigh that Silverpaw was cutting in. "Well, I kind of wanted to go, just with Inkpaw..." She bagan, hoping the look in her azure eyes told Silverpaw everything, from how much she loved Inkpaw to her hope that this walk would fufill her dream that Inkpaw would finaly fall in love with her-- or at least start to like her as more than a friend.

Silverpaw blinked, confused and slightly hurt. "Why can't I come too?" she asked innocently, her icy-blue eyes showed some of her hurt in not being able to come with them. Her eyes moved from Lilypaw to Inkpaw and she sighed, unsure what to do. She decided to study her paws, why couldn't she walk with them? Did they think something was off about her?
Silverpaw's tail curled around her body, trying to hid the tremble from the cold wind and the thoughts popping inside her head.
