"Well, we're here" Lilypaw said rememberign again that Virdianpaw had told her he oved her. She looked at him with affection gleaing in her azure colored eyes, still not being able to get those three words out. 'I love you. I love you. I love you', she said over and over in her head, but coldn't force the words out of her mouth. Maybe she didn't exactly /love/ him yet, but she did feel affection for him.

Viridianpaw nodded and quickly dashed off in search of prey. Too much of his disappointment, the beginning of his hunt didn't turn out to well. He ended up empty-pawed everytime except for when he had caught a pawful of dead and moist leaves that had stucked to his paws, making it hard to walk. Eventually, they came off, but only after having to trudge around with wet leaves stuck to his pads.
His green colored gaze continued searching around him as he turned his head this way and that in a vain attempt to spot any prey that could be found hiding nearby. He found none, but that still didn't discourage him from giving up. Late leaf-fall and early leaf-bare were difficult times to find fresh-kill, but there just still /had/ to be perhaps a vole or a mouse left around on the ridge, there just /had/ to be.

Lilypaw looked around and caught the scent of mouse, but found that it was pretty much bones. She pounced on it, for maybe ot would feed some older kits. She walked over to Virdianpaw, and touched his shoulder gently with her long white tail. "It's alright", she mewed, seeing how dicouraged he was. "Hey, lets take a walk" She mewed. "It's a beautiful day." She moved a bit closer to Virdianpaw, so that thier pelts touched. She hadn't got tpuched another cats pelt since she stood next to Inkpaw.

"S-s-sure," Viridianpaw replied hesitatantly. He pulled away from Lilypaw's touch and was too scared to go and touch her pelt again with his own pelt. He padded a few tail-lengths away from her as he looked out from the ridge. Looking down, he saw the lake, placid for it had almost nearly turned to ice from the cold weather that hung around both Camps like a mist or a fog that wouldn't lift without a strong wind to push it out of the way. It was as if this cold draped over SkyClan cats especially, making them slightly irritable at times.

Lilypaw's eyes filled with confusion and she looked crestallen as Virdianpaw pulled away from her touch.
"Virdianpaw?" She said softly. "I...I love you". she looked at him wth affection and uncertanty in her ocean colored eyes.

Viridianpaw purred as the she-cat apprentice told him that she loved him. Suddenly, all timidness and shyness retreated from his emotions, leaving only a pure confidence that everything would be all right. Secretly, he thanked Aspenwind for making him go out with Lilypaw onto the ridge.
"I already said I loved you, didn't I?" Viridianpaw purred in response to Lilypaw, viridian colored eyes -- the source of his name, obviously -- glinting in the sunlight with pure delight and happiness.

"Yeah", Lilypaw replied, suddenly feeling more comfortable around Virdianpaw than she ever did with Inkpaw. She sat down next to him, letting her soft white pelt touch his own gray onw hoping that he wouldn't pull away. "You know", she mewed. "After you told me you loved me, I just forgt abou Inkpaw." 'Maybe it was /Virdianpaw/ and I who were meant to be together, not Inkpaw and I' She thought to herself as she remembered the night at the gathering. Suddenly she remembered she still didn't go to Northstar for her punishment. "Virdianpaw", she mewed softly to him. "I have to go to Northstar to get my punishment for leaving the Gathering. Maybe we should head back to camp". She intertwined her tail with his.

Viridianpaw nodded in agreement, although he didn't quite want to leave the ridge just yet. He, too, had heard the story from a primary source -- Inkpaw himself. "I'm sure Northstar won't give you that bad of a punishment," he meowed, trying to assure Lilypaw as well as himself. "After all, now everything's okay. Dreampaw's falling head over paws for Inkpaw, so I don't see why she still has to have punishments for any cat anymore now that everything's been resolved properly and truly."
Although Viridianpaw wasn't one to take the credit for many things, he did feel rather delighted that he had told Lilypaw that he loved her. If he hadn't, who knew what could be happening right now? Lilypaw could be having another screaming match with Inkpaw if she weren't hear on the ridge with him.

"I guess so", Lilypaw replied. "So, what would you have done if you never told me you loved me?" She asked, her tail still intertwined with his.

"I would've talked to Inkpaw," Viridianpaw responded simply to the she-cat apprentice's question. In truth, he actually would. Even though Inkpaw was conceited and annoying at times, he could also give extremely good and helpful advice if you just caught him at the correct time. Viridianpaw, being Inkpaw's friends since they were both kits, knew the best times to try to weasel things out from Inkpaw that he wanted sometimes such as secrets and the rest of the lore.

"Oh" Lilypaw replied simply to Virdianpaw, almost wincing at Inkpaw's name, but didn't know why. She loved /Virdianpaw/, right? "Well, we best be getting back to camp. Maybe we can go on a patrol later", She mewed hopefuly, not wanting to go to Nrthstar for her punishment, bt she did want to ask her when she and the other apprentices would become warriors.

Viridianpaw nodded in response, standing up. Although he was reluctant to go, he began padding away, flicking his tail in a beckoning gesture so that Lilypaw knew to follow him -- not that she wouldn't, but he felt that it was a necessary measure he wanted to take. He soon picked up his pace and made his way across the ridge quickly, stepping carefully to make sure he didn't tumble down the side of the ridge and into the almost frozen lake down below.
