"Wha--, uh, just wondering." Moonwind was surprised by her question. "So, what do you think?" He asked the she-cat as they approached the lake.
It was shining, now with the sun at it's highest point, and seemed golden now, and everything around it was glittering with frost. It seemed as though they had entered a new world. He purred as he felt Amaryllis's pelt against his, and if a cat saw them, they would think they were mates, the way their tails twined together.

"It's beautiful," Amaryllis murmured softly, forgetting all about the earlier question she had asked Moonwind. Although she had seen this view many times before when she had traveled from EarthClan to SkyClan, now that she was with this tomcat, this... tomcat that made her feel the way she did, it seemed absolutely gorgeous now with the sparkling dew and frost lit surfaces surrounding her with the sun glinting off of them. "The way everything gleams in the sunlight... The way the lake seems so calm with just a thin layer of ice covering it..." she meowed, trailing off at the end with a look of deep wonder.

"Yeah." Moonwind looked at the view. "I guess you wouldn't be affected if I said it was beautiful like you", he mewed, laghter in his voice. He pressed a bit closer to Amaryllis as a gust of wind came by.

Amaryllis purred at the slight joke that Moonwind made, although she did allow herself to enjoy his flattery again for a few moments. She flicked her ears as he pressed closer against her as a relatively harsh wind pulled through. Having no shield of foliage besides a few measly clumps of heather nearby, Amaryllis willingly welcomed the warmth that Moonwind gave her side. "Well, you can always try, can't you?" she purred.

"Of course", Moonwind replied, his golden-copper eyes dancing. "So...I guess this is the time when we fall head over paws for each other?" He joked again, but this time, a tiny bit more serious. ut of course, /he/ wasn't falling for Amaryllis.

"You mean it?" Amaryllis purred, pressing even closer against Moonwind. Something inside her changed -- it was as if her heart's icy casing [not literally, of course] had melted and was beginning to feel proper emotions again. Even though she got the hint that he was actually joking slightly, she truly believed him and was gazing up at him with an enraptured expression dancing through her blue eyes. Of course, she was oblivious to the fact that Moonwind wasn't looking for love.

"Of course", he mewed, although, he wasn't serious.

Or was he?
Would StarClan be angry at him for seeking revenge in another cat?
He rippled his muscles, what he usually did to get she cats to fall for him, and looked back at Amaryllis with gentle golden eyes, and wrapped their tails tighter.

Amaryllis purred, admiring with interest again as Moonwind flexed his muscles underneath his sleek pelt. "Do you love me?" she meowed, purring yet again as Moonwind's tail entwined with hers even tighter. Although she had changed slightly, Amaryllis still felt as if she had a bit of devilish emotion within her.

"In time, maybe", he answered, still looking at her, his gaze unwavering. He purred as she purrred at his rippling muscles.

In time? Well, that certainly wasn't what Amaryllis wanted to hear -- it didn't help her current position of loving him and it didn't help her with her probably almost deserted plans of trying to break his heart. She met his gaze steadily, trying to discern from them the truth from the other emotions that flitted through them. It was difficult, but she was determined to figure it out. "Do you at least /like/ me?" she pressed.

"Definetley", Moonwind mewed, looking at Amaryllis, but not acting shy or love-struck, like normal toms.

"Now, do you love me?" He asked, looking into the she-cats blue gaze, his expression unreadable.

Although it was an improvement, Amaryllis still longed for the tomcat to actually cross the fine line between liking and love. She just had to tell him anything he wanted to hear and perhaps he would get it... "Yes, yes, yes!" she responded, attempting to force as much feeling as she could into her words.

"Oh, really?" He asked, not believing the she-cat. "Look, I know you don't mean it, so you don't have to say it. Or at least you don't love me /that/ much", he said, his voice smooth and charming. Moonwind let out a mrrow of laughter.

Amaryllis blinked as she stared at the tomcat, suddenly captivated by his deep voice that seemed to always catch her attention immediately. "I /do/ love you," she meowed softly, looking up at him yet again with her sapphire blue eyes as she awaited his response -- probably more of ridiculing her. Emotions flitted around nevously in her mind and she couldn't quite determine which one she felt currently.

"I know", Moonwind mewed, serious now. "I do too" He mewed more softly. Moonwind looked into Amaryllis's blue eyes, finding that she /had/ fallen into his trap! But what will I do with her now? /Should/ I break her heart? And if I do fall in love with her, would she ever forgive me if I broke her heart?
