Amaryllis blinked rapidly as she looked at the tomcat whom she had just admitted her affection for. Did she truly love him? Did he truly love her back? "Really?" she murmured softly, staring up at him with her eyes as she waited. Her heart began pounding furiously for some odd reason -- what was she currently feeling?

"Yes", Moonwind replied. He made affection spill slightly into his smooth voice, but not enough to say he was falling head over paws for her. Just enough to convince her.
Soon, her heart would be broken.

There was the affection. Even though Amaryllis was teetering on the edge of completely trusting him and slightly doubting him, she simply charged into his affection. He does love me! she thought to herself (wrongly, though, of course), exhilarated. "Why? We've been together for a few moments," she meowed, although she herself had to ask herself the same question. Why had she just all of a sudden fallen in love with this tomcat when dozens of other tomcats she had tricked before were just as handsome and good-natured as he was?

"I don't know", Moonwind replied. "I guess its just that you're so beautiful. Inside and out." He said, his voice deep with meaning (fake though). Because if it wasn't, any she-cat could've thought he was just saying that to get them to fall for her.

Although Amaryllis was good at tricking other cats into doing her bidding and believing her, she wasn't too good at realizing when other cats were trying to give her a taste of her own medicine by doing the same thing to her. She herself simply believed that he truly was in love with her and wasn't able to detect the fact that he didn't truly mean what he said. "Thank you, Moonwind," she responded with traces of true affection showing in her voice as she used the tomcat's name in her speech. "What brings you out here?" she asked.

"Not much. I guess I just didn't want to be in EarthClan." Moonwind replied smoothly, rippling his muscled slightly in anger of what she did to Shatterwind. Now he knew he had to break her heart. "So what brings you here?" He asked.

"EarthClan," Amaryllis repeated the name as if she had never heard of the Clan before. As Moonwind asked her question, she began thinking. Why was she here? She just couldn't quite remember -- a few hours ago, she would've known hear purpose quite clearly. But now? It was all fogged up. "I-I don't remember, honestly. I believe I was wandering around aimlessly," she meowed, trying to remember the real reason why.

"Ah. I guess you are a loner?" He asked, not using the harsh word, rouge. He looked at Amaryllis with gentle golden-copper eyes.

"If that's what you wish to call me, then yes," Amaryllis responded, her heart fluttering at the fact that he hadn't used the word 'rogue', as other cats had called her, "some have called me the name of 'rogue', though." She met his gentle gaze with her own blue one, trying to continue to hold his soft yet penetrating golden gaze.

"I think it is stupid to call other cats such harsh names, when they don't even know them." Moonwind answered to Amaryllis. "I mean, I wouldn't like to be called names like "rouge", any more than the cat who was calling me that." Moonwind spoke with truth, and his rich, smooth voice was like a stream flowing over smooth, silver pebbles.

Amaryllis purred as she heard Moonwind's voice ripple and sound out into the silence with a serene smoothness. He had an interesting voice -- a voice that always captivated her attention whenever he spoke. "Indeed," she meowed, agreeing with him completely. She tilted her head, considering what to say for a few moments. "Have you ever been called a name like that?" she asked, just trying to create small talk.

"No", Moonwind replied, truthfully. He was in a Clan, so no cat had ever called him names like "Rouge". He looked around at the beautiful scene of sparkling frost, and the glittering azure lake.

"Do you know Shatterwind?" Amaryllis asked. Suddenly, she jerked her head up as she asked the question. How could she ask him something like that? It had just... slipped out. But still, Amaryllis didn't want to take the question back just yet -- she was interested in knowing the answer to her question.

Moonwind's eyes filled with fake confusion. "No, I don't know a shatterwind, for I am a loner too", he mewed. "when I came to EarthClan as a loner, they gave me a new name, Moonwind, because I wanted to become a warrior at the time, but when I left, I couldn't remember my old name, so I just stick with this one". He chuckled inside his head. His fake story was perfect, and Amaryllis wouldn't suspect that he /did/ know Shatteriwnd.

Amaryllis tilted her head as she listened to Moonwind's story of how he didn't know a tomcat by the name of Shatterwind. Her eyes narrowed in thought, but in the end, she believed in what he said. After all, what did he have to gain if he lied to her? "It's an interesting name," she meowed. She knew what she said was off-topic, but she now didn't know what else to say. "Did you know a cat by the name of Ashbreeze, then, perhaps?" she suddenly blurted out.
