"Yes", Moonwind said suddenly. some cats told me about his death, after I left. They told me he got mauled by badgers when he was hunting. Moonwind knew he was lying through his pearl-colored teeth, but he needed to if he was going to get revenge.

Amaryllis blinked, startled at Moonwind's tale of Ashbreeze's death. It was rather strange, but she wasn't about to admit that she was the one who had forced Shatterwind to kill Ashbreeze -- his best friend -- out of pure rage and jealousy. "Really? That's interesting," she meowed, trying to act as nonchalant and carefree as possible, "which cats did you hear /that/ story from?"

"I heard it from a gray-ish tom. I don't remember his name--Oh! It /was/ Shatterwind. He seemed very upset, and angry. They were probably friends", Moonwind said, as fake anger passed through his eyes. "I would /hate/ it if my best friend died. I wouldn't be able to go on in life." Moonwind said, looking into Amaryllis's blue eyes.

Amaryllis's head jerked up suddenly as she heard Moonwind's comments. Although his story was far from what had happened, Moonwind's account of Ashbreeze and Shatterwind having been friends was true. How did he know? Did he know that she was the one who had caused Shatterwind to kill Ashbreeze? Did he know that Ashbreeze's death was not caused by badgers? Deciding to try to get off of the subject, for she was rather uneasy speaking about it, she asked as she met his gaze, "Would you hate it if I died?"

"Of course I would hate if you died." Moonwind spoke with much feeling, but honestly, he thought she deserved to die, after what she did to Ashbreeze and Shatterwind. "What would you do if I died?" He asked, wondering if she was really falling in love with him.

Amaryllis purred at Moonwind's earlier comment. To his question, Amaryllis responded rather hesitantly, "Oh... I don't know..." It wasn't that she wasn't nearly falling head over paws for him, it was just that she wan't sure she could ever picture him and his muscular build and everything about him dying. To make up for her pauses, though, she quickly meowed, "I'd probably die too out of loneliness." It might have been a cheesy answer, but Amaryllis couldn't think of much better to say.

"Yeah..." Moonwind trailed out at Amaryllis's answer. Any cat could've given him that answer. He drew his tail away from Amaryllis's, so that they weren't twined together anymore.

Amaryllis looked up at Moonwind as she felt his tail untangle from hers. Her blue eyes were filled with confusion. Now what was happening? Had he decided that he wouldn't like her anymore? What had she done? Well, what had she /not/ done, actually. "What's wrong?" she asked, looking up at him again, hoping that she hadn't done anything that he disliked.

"What wrong?" Moonwind repeated Amaryllis. "Well, it's just that your answer...Well, any she-cat could've said that to me if she didn't reallt love me. i thought we had a sppecial connection, us supposedly falling in love in just a few moments." Moonwind looked into her deep blue gaze, his own golde-copper one unreadable.

"What makes you think I don't love you?" Amaryllis meowed, a touch of desperateness embedded within her tone of voice, "what else do you want?" She held his golden gaze with her blue one, although it was becoming increasingly difficult to meet his gaze and hold it. It seemed to penetrate and see into what she truly was. But what was she? Thoughts flitted around nervously through her mind, making it nearly impossible for Amaryllis to think.

"Don't worry about it", Moonwind replied gently flicking his tail over her ears, then twining it with hers. He moved closer to the orange she-cat. "Do you really love me?" He asked after a few silent moments, to give her time to think.

Amaryllis returned to being at ease as his tone gentled back and he entwined his tail with hers yet again. "Of course I do!" she meowed softly, a look of indignation crossing over her features at the fact that he didn't truly believe her.

"It's not that I don't believe you love me, it's just that I would've never imagined that I would end up with such an amazing she-cat", Moonwind replied gently. He touched his muzzle to hers for a heartbeat, then just sat there, looking at the glittering world.

Amaryllis purred at Moonwind's flattery, this time leting herself free into his praise and not caring that sometimes flattery wasn't always reality. "And I would've never imagined that I would've ended up with such an amazing tomcat," she meowed. If Amaryllis had actually been her true self and not currently feeling this akward emotion, she would have never said these words, but now...

"Amaryllis", Moonwind mewed seriously to Amaryllis. "Theres another she-cat that I met befor I came here, and I truly love her. Sorry if this hurts you, but I love her alot." Moonwind spoke with a small amount of sympathy and guilt, but he didn't really mean it.
