Amaryllis blinked, taking in Moonwind's words for a minute. At first, she hesitated in responding. What was she supposed to say? "But... what about me?" she murmured softly, looking up at Moonwind with hurt marking her sapphire colored eyes, "why'd you even /speak/ to me in that case?"

"I..I don't know", Moonwind mewed. "I guess I just forgot about her for a while, but I just realized ow important she was to me." He started to walk away from Amaryllis, in the direction of EarthClan, wondering if Amaryllis would chase after him, like some lovesick tom would to her.

Amaryllis watched Moonwind's retreating figure. "But-" she started, then looked down at the ground. What was she supposed to do now? Moving her paws underneath her quickly, Amaryllis followed Moonwind. Her paws fell lightly on the ground, hardly making a sound as she followed the tomcat into land that was surprisingly familiar to her.

Moonwind stopped. "Did I just break your heart?" He asked gently, but not looking at her, and no sympathy in his voice.

"Why do you need to know?" Amaryllis asked, pure confusion showing in her sapphire blue eyes as she looked at Moonwind. What was he talking about? What was this about breaking hearts? For a fleeting instant, a vague memory of how she had used to shatter hearts emotionally passed through her mind, but she put it aside. How could he know about that? "You almost did... fine, you did..." Amaryllis murmured softly, feeling the hurt well up within her as she spoke to him.

Moonwind looked at Amaryllis' crestfallen face. He laughed in his head. So now you know what it feels like, to have your heart broken, he thought to himself. He walked on, straight into the EarthClan camp.
((MOVING MOONWIND TO EARTHCLAN CAMP))

What was she supposed to do now? Just leave and never be heard from again? What did Moonwind want her to do? Hurt -- actual hurt -- flashed through her eyes as Amaryllis watched Moonwind's retreating figure. Not wanting to chase after him, she seated herself and stared down the ridge and into the lake. Well, what had she expected? That Moonwind would totally fall in love with her after a few moments of knowing her?

"Amaryllis, you can come, you know", Moonwind called over his shoulder at the ginger she-cat, in a friendly tone. "I'm really sorry for all that happened to you, I really am", he mewed, fake sincerity in his voice.

Amaryllis looked up at Moonwind, her blue eyes narrowed in thought as she looked at him. Should she trust him yet again? The friendliness of his voice seemed so inviting, but could she really believe it? Deciding to throw caution to the winds, Amaryllis took a few tentative steps forward before she finally broke out into a brisk pace, coming up beside Moonwind quickly.
