"Now, Mai, I want you to try to run past me," Cloudpuff meowed, gazing at the pretty she-cat with golden copper eyes that willed her to understand that she needed to this or else she wouldn't be able to stay in the Clan -- and with him. He awaited her response, hoping that she would try. He gave a mental sigh of relief as she nodded, her azure gaze fixed on attempting to get past him.
Well, Mai wasn't sure how this would go. If she tried to bowl into him, she would instantly be thrown into the air, no doubt since Cloudpuff was larger and more muscular than she was. If she could just dart to the left right there... Bunching together litheful limbs, Mai sprang up and began dashing to the right.
Instantly, Cloudpuff responded, streaking to the right to make sure that she wasn't able to pass in that direction. He had thought that he would probably have to teach Mai more about getting past cats, but he found that he was wrong. He nearly hit the ground as she veered sharply to the right and darted past him.
As she skidded to a stop, Mai looked back at Cloudpuff. "I-I-I'm sorry!" she stammered out, looking at her teacher and hoping that he wasn't angry with her. "Here, let me help you..." she meowed, holding out a paw to perhaps help him, although it really didn't do anything.
Cloudpuff, however, was staring at Mai. She has good agility for a kittypet. he thought to himself, amazed at the former kittypet's ability to think and plan like a true warrior. "That was excellent, Mai," he praised, "you've got a brilliant start considering the fact that you were once a kittypet." His golden gaze filled with warmth and affection as he looked at the she-cat. "Now let's try that again..."
