Running a quick tongue over silver lips, the she-cat turned her deep moss eyes towards the lake, spotting the distant, wide island a few good, tiring, swims away. Releasing a small sigh, the leader turned around, skirting over her Clan with caring eyes.
"Keep the young and weak in the middle, and keep another cat within less than half a foxlength away. Do not break apart no matter what. I want all of us to be in one piece when we get there; we don't need any EarthClan cats looking down upon us!" Her instructional speech was serious, until she came to a certain point at the end where she let her grimace pull back in to a light smile, adding a comical friendliness linger in her loud and bold voice.
Northstar turned back in to the waters, and with a new, determined glint in her deep dirty-emerald eyes, rolled her lean shoulder blades backwards. Long silky tail lashed out in semi-malicious manner, and before she retracted her claws, and thrust herself out in to the cool waters of the night.
Her pace was swift. Her pace was hard. Her pace was strong. Her pace was determined.

"I'm not young and I'm not weak!" Inkpaw's loud and boisterous voice carried out and was heard by most of the cats that were going to the Gathering as the representatives of the whole SkyClan. Normally, he would've been good-humored when Azalealeaf had attempted to nudge him to the center, where Northstar had said that was where the young and the weak were to go, but because Dreampaw wasn't here, he was depressed and annoyed.
Azalealeaf gazed at the tomcat apprentice, amusement as well as pity in her emotions. Shaking her head, she stopped her teasing and slid into the water after Northstar, paddling easily in the waters lapping against her fur and wetting it.
Inkpaw was glad that Azalealeaf had stopped bothering him. With his tail and head hung low, he splashed into the water. He had been excited when he had heard the news that he was going to go to the Gathering, yes, but his spirits had immediately crashed when he had learned the fact that Dreampaw wasn't going. He sent a glare at the back of Northstar's figure, annoyance shooting through him that she didn't choose Dreampaw to go with their group to the Gathering. He let out a hiss of frustration, his black coat spreading out and floating in the water that surrounded him.
His tail lashed out against the sandy bottom of the lake, causing a furrow that was immediately filled in by more sand. His ears were about to pin back against his head, but he stopped himself so that he didn't appear /that/ rude to the other warriors. If he were to become the best warrior in the whole entire world, he would have to learn to respect his leader's decision one way or another, even if he didn't approve of them.
"Why couldn't Dreampaw come?" he muttered mutinously to himself underneath his breath. His claws sheathed and unsheathed, working at the sandy soil underneath his paws as he continued wading through the water that was nearly neck high on him. Still a growing apprentice, he wasn't as able to move through the water as easily as the warriors, whose bodies were only covered to about the flank with water.

Three warriors of SkyClan splashed into the water at nearly the same time. Onespot waded in front of the two she-cats and towards the Gathering Island, eager to hear news from EarthClan, as well as to meet the tom Mistheart had talked about for moons, her brother Battooth. The two had never met, and Onespot wanted to see what was so special about him.
Mistheart and Flamefoot swam side by side, both moving at a rather leisurely pace. Mistheart was as excited as an apprentice to be going to a Gathering, but she made sure that she didn't do anything stupid to make it seem like she wanted to be that near EarthClan. She traded a glance with Flamefoot as she lost her footing for a second, then regained it a moment later.
