"You could be happy and I won't know," her soft words whispered.
"You could be happy; I hope you are." His words filled her with sorrow and pleasurable affection.
"All of the things I said play over and over again in my head."
"Is it too late to remind you how we were?"
She had been at the Mooncrystal for a few moments before the two met, instantly rubbing noses and brushing each other's cheek fur against one another's brilliantly lit-up faces. Northstar felt herself become cool with the numbness of their agony, and hot with the ever-burning essence of their non-dying and everlasting love for one another. The silver leader had visited him several times in the past moons since he'd gone, and every time they shared the same greetings--a ritual now--and licks and cares.
Skirting her deep, bright eyes over his handsomely-defined onyx face, lingering at his moon-gray and river-blue eyes as she gazed deeply into them, no words needed for her expression. The deceased tom did the same, and rubbed his moon-dipped ears against hers, brushing the length of his head against her soft cheek and neck fur.
The she-cat stole a glance at his black forepaws, resting upon his ivory-dipped toes before closing her eyes and sighing softly.
"Is it too late to remind you how we were?" Moonrun spoke softly, concerned love drifting from his slim, parted jaws.
"Not our last days of silence, scream, and blur," she replied, brows angling downwards as pain gripped her. Northstar closed her eyes, shutting them tight and blocking it out of her mind. For the smallest moment, she smiled as he licked her cheek, pulling back his head and watching her closely, examining her carefully and anxiously. "Most of what I remember makes me sure."
Their affectionate rhymes and talks made their bond from distance only more strong, the beats of their hearts became more synchronized and powerful, pushing the blood of two strongly and with more effectiveness.
Moonrun smiled back a look of pure relief upon his face. However as he examined her more closely, and upon remembering the trouble she had with the apprentice, the deceased warrior grimaced, tilting his head and leaning in closer to her so that her sweet breath caressed his slim jaws. Taking in a breath, he glanced her over with his entrancing gaze. "What's wrong?" he asked. His voice tightened in concern for her.
