Flamefoot purred at Lightbreeze's intrest in who was pairing off. "Well," she meowed, "There's Onespot and Honeypaw. Came as a huge surprise to ol' Onespot. He was freaking out about it. And then there's Cloudpuff. He settled down with a new cat." The end of Flamefoot's sentence came out of gritted teeth. She was desperately holding onto what little control she had over her anger. She took a breath and calmed herself down, repeating Icefoot's lecture over in her head.

"Cloudpuff?" Lightbreeze meowed. "The same Cloudpuff who's been padding after Dreampaw almost ever since she was born? The same Cloudpuff who's sitting right over there and talking to Lilacpaw?" she asked, clearly confused. She couldn't imagine the white tomcat warrior padding after anyone except the silver tabby apprentice known as Dreampaw. The strange prospect of this was rather odd, but Lightbreeze accepted it. After all, this wasn't her Clan they were talking about.
Sensing that Flamefoot, for whatever reason, wasn't exactly all too thrilled about this subject, Lightbreeze tactfully decided to get off of speaking about Cloudpuff and the new she-cat. "Any others?" she asked.

Immediately her face flickered to life, sharp mossy eyes fixating upon Maplestar's. It was evident in her expression that she had heard the same rumor. Neck tensing, she found her voice once again to speak up. "Yes," she replied slowly and tightly, "that is what I've heard as well. I cannot believe it, Silverpaw and this Eagledance... Do you have any details on the situation? Is Eagledance here?"
It was in that moment that his eagle-like eyes caught his love. Heart skipping several beats, muscles tightening, lean body arching and retracting as he restrained himself to go to her. The rumors had gotten stiff and harsh, and quite frankly, Eagledance had begun to get worried. He had been confronted with Maplestar the eve before, and while too shocked to have spoken back to the great leader, found himself in an extremely vulnerable position. Was his trust being re-examined? Was he going to be exiled?

Maplestar shook his head. "I no nothing more than what one of my warriors told me," he meowed, "that he saw them meeting at the border. As to whether he's here..." Maplestar indicated the exotic warrior with a flick of his tail. "Is Silverpaw here?" Maplestar felt rather bad for what he had done, what he had said to the warrior. He wanted to at least find out Eagledance's and Silverpaw's side of the story.
Flamefoot shrugged, glad Lightbreeze had been kind enough to change the subject. "Not that I know of," she meowed. "Or remember. Sorry Lightbreeze." She laughed softly. "I'm a bit of a mouse-brain sometimes."

ooc; I dunno, Agii. I dunno. Dx
Lightbreeze nodded politely, a slight flicker of amusement at Flamefoot's words. It was good when a cat was able to say things wrong about his or her self without trying to look good. "That's quite all right, Flamefoot," she meowed in a good-natured tone. Swinging her tail around, she laid it on top of her paws. "Smokeheart's been a little... well... erm... weird. He's kind of... flaunting about and trying to get my attention," she meowed with an upward movement of her shoulders that could be described easily as a shrug. "I'm not particularly sure what to make of it," she added truthfully in a rather rueful and dismal tone.

Rainfeather listened intently to Flamefoot, curling her pale silver tail around her paws, and looking around at all the other cats, then averting her clear aqua eyes back to Flamefoot and Lightbreeze.
"Well, I think Wildpaw and Lilacpaw have seemed to hit it off," she told Flamefoot. Before the Gathering, Wildpaw and Lilacpaw had come into cam with their tails twined, and were both looking very happy. [/size]

Flamefoot purred. "Did they really?" she meowed amusedly. "That's really great." She had seen the two apprentices once or twice before, but never together, and she could only barely remember what they looked like. Regardless, it was a nice idea, the two getting together. Of course, if Flamefoot remembered right, Lilacpaw was Battooth's apprentice (as he had told her at the last Gathering), which meant either she was patient, or she was exactly like him.
"What about you Rainfeather?" the ginger warrior meowed, giving the other she-cat and gentle prod with a paw. "D'you have anyone? You've been pretty quiet." She purred and grinned.
