She moved rhythmically, haunches rising and falling. Her paws hit the ground in regular intervals, forming a beat against the sinking raindrops that precipitated from the tenebrous sky. It was a dark night, a black night that brought rain and the cold with it. She saw humans rushing to be free of the weather; she, on the other hand, proceeded forward in to the sea of lights and water and darting words.
The humming lights threw themselves at her and at her surroundings, illuminating where she was. The raindrops had a scintillating appearance as the light refracted in their grasp momentarily. They stayed that way only for a matter of seconds, however, before gravity ripped them from the air and threw them on to the ground. More than a few of these raindrops landed upon her, but she simply ignored them.
With the light came shadows, and with shadows came her. Her olive hued eyes gleamed with an eerie, unwavering glow. Nothing escaped from her line of sight; she saw every movement, every action and reaction. Every frame of motion processed within her calculating mind, a mind with unfathomable depths that never stopped in its deliberations.
Her contemplations were never on simply one matter. They delved deeper in to one issue, while combining it with another and still yet another. They mixed and they separated themselves, aligning themselves in order, yet scattering and breaking apart. It was a confusing pattern, one that was difficult to understand. She herself was not privy to how she thought; she simply thought as she did.

She was not going nowhere, for that itself seemed to have an end. She would wander as she pleased, for she could not get lost. There was no possibility of losing her direction, for she had no place to return to, no place she had to be. There was no one she had to meet, for any who wished to meet her would find her themselves. It was in this way that she was a reclusive feline. She had a path of solitude ahead and behind her, marked only by the few interactions she had with others of her own kind when she herself decided it was an adequate timing; this wasn't very often. Mystery shrouded her, encompassed her. It was how she flourished, how she succeeded in doing what she did. What she did. Her actions were not based upon evil, no, to the contrary, she felt as if she were doing the world a favor. She killed and destroy and used others to kill and destroy in order to rid the world of perfection. She sneered at the word and idea of perfection, for there was no such thing. Everything was flawed, and if something was perfect, that itself was its flaw. She took it in to her own mind to educate others about this, and what better way to show them that perfection could be incinerated? Perfection was love, and it was hope. Anything that created a bubble around one so that they forgot the harshness of the outside world. The outside world was austere and pitiless. One mistake, and you were punished with merciless consequences. She had been a victim of this, and now she had changed herself to be the one dealing out the victimizations. She was strong and unyielding; nothing could stop her. if youwantMOREof thiswe canpushOUTsellOUT dieOUT soyou'll sh[/s]utup and stay sleepingwith mySCREAMiNG inyour itching ears Through twenty-three moons, she had lived only two of them on the streets skirting human territory, learning how to navigate about the area. Now, she was familiar with everything. Now, she was ready to attack. She was inconspicuous with the night, her pelt with various shades of mahogany and tawny infused blurring against the shadowed panorama that was to behold from the excess sides of the lighting. Her slender frame allowed for slipping through cracks and hiding behind various objects of choice, should she ever need it. At the moment, she was not tense for battle at the very least, for she was confident nothing would attack her. Still, there was always one part of her that never stopped readying itself for any assault. She was skilled in battle, having taught herself. She fought with a well thought out style, thinking before she dashed in for the kill. In this way, she used logic, and was rather lethal. Still, she was not without her faults in fighting techniques; she lacked quick thinking. She preferred well thought out plans to fight, and she usually paused for a second too long when contemplating, often allowing the opposition to make the first move. Even so, skills in which she was deficient were equally filled in with those she commanded. i'msosick, iNFECTED!with wherei{live}} let me livewithout this empty bliss, selfishnessi'm so sick i'm so sick She bore the aura of a seductress, a temptress, a femme fatale. Someone who was untouchable, who was up there. In truth, she was nothing of the sort, but the way she acted, and the way her words rolled over and weaved themselves in to a fabric of conversation helped feed this illusion of what she was. Insults, comments, whispers, and the like flew through the air toward her often when she ran in to those of her species, but they simply rolled off of her mind, her pelt, her tail. She did not care what anyone else thought, and this itself was probably her most powerful characteristic. The ability to function without anyone else's ideas, the ability to do whatever she wanted--the freedom she had without worrying over snide words that tried to strike against whatever her attempts were. At the present moment, she had stopped in her trek, taking in the sights surrounding her. She memorized the area, memorized the cracks in the hard ground underneath, how the leaves on the trees looked in the nighttime air, and how the wind and rain felt when they slapped against her. She memorized the location from which lights were winking at her, the noises that humans made when they walked, and the way that the shadows shifted because of all of this movement. Due to the fact that she was visually inclined, many of the facts she pulled were, consequently, of content viewed with the eyes. The she-cat stayed still, then returned to wandering. Wandering. It was what she did, and it was her namesake. Her name, Wanderer, was the ideal alias for her, as it described the whole of her in three syllables forming one, solid word. That, in term, was what a name was supposed to do. The world Wanderer had been born in was a cruel one. She still lived in one such like this, except now she dominated the top of it--she was a leader, and power felt good. It felt right. With this power, she would open the eyes of those cursed with ignorance. She would open them to ruthlessness and tyranny, to venom and persecution. She would show them the real world. Yumi;;
“You’ve run out of time, Lily. Wanderer had made a deal with you, if you can’t live up to it, you have to pay the toll,” A voice echoed, serene and gentle yet highly menacing. There was a cruel mrrow of laughter and a small squeak—two pairs of paws ran toward the noise, both of their hearts beating rapidly. “Don’t make this any harder, dear,” Came a purr, “You know that it’s a bad idea.” The smirk was nearly heard.
“N-no! Yumi, please, give me some more time! Don’t hurt my kit, I beg of you!” A she-cat cried, one would assume Lily, “I will pay back Wanderer! I swear I will!” The other set of paws began to whimper and mew in distress, “Hush, little one. Violet will be back in a few moments,” She assured her other kit, though her voice trembled. The kit shook her head, eyeing the silhouette of Yumi fearfully, the No! in her heard rang clear.
With a small cry, the kit scrambled back into the human box to escape the nightmare.
Yumi took a delicate step into the moonlight, her orange fur rippling smoothly atop her muscles, her green eyes narrowed to small slits. “I wouldn’t be too sure,” She cooed to the other she-cat, her voice sweet, “If you can’t pay up now I’m horribly afraid that I’m going to have to take Violet here,” She caste a glare at the black kit, she looked disgustingly like her mother and sister. There was no reply. “Mm. I see then,” she meowed, smiling, “I will see you next time, Lily. If you can’t pay it up then, little Clover is taken too. Have a wonderful night,” She sneered politely and turned her back with Lily’s kit in her jaws. With a light step, she began to trot into the black one more.
“No!” Lily howled, lunging from the behind, and without a meow, Yumi sank down to avoid. And it so happened that as she did so, she lifted an unsheathed paw, scoring from Lily’s throat to the middle of her underbelly. The queen landed flat up ahead and began to gasp and moan, her claws scratching frantically at nothing. The black made her confused and dysfunctional, “Vi-violet!” She screeched, standing up, blood trickling from her mouth and wound. Yumi stared at her, dropped the kit, and let out an exhausted sigh.
It was hilarious when they always tried to take something back. It always ended badly—on their behalf.
Yumi smiled, gingerly taking a step forward, “Dear Lily, I told you it was not wise to be difficult.” Lily glared and snarled aggressively, “Not wise at all.” Ignoring the fatal advice, the queen ran forward with the light of anger in her eyes. Yumi stood still, her fur blowing gently in the breeze, smiling. Suddenly Lily faltered and groaned, falling and hitting the ground with a thump. She rolled to her back, exposing the horrible shredding Yumi had caused. It soaked Lily’s pitch-black fur and flooded onto the pavement.
Behind Yumi, Clover tumbled out from the box with a gasp, “Mother!” Violet simply stared open-mouthed, at loss for words. Clover scrambled to her sister’s side and huddled there, both kits shivering in fear and shock. The orange she-cat flicked her tail, enjoying every moment. This was her life. This was what she was made for, to serve her master and closest “friend.” In general, she was made for destruction.
The queen’s mind was growing blank—as of her eyes too. “One day you will pay,” she snarled weakly, glaring up at her soon-to-become murderer. Yumi took a step forward, her eyes gleaming, and placed a white paw on the she-cat’s neck. She smiled and pressed down with more weight, Lily spluttered and coughed up more of the desired blood, “You… you won’t… always… win…!” She whispered brokenly. The orange feline’s fur bristled with anger and she unsheathed her claws. There was a yowl that abruptly cut off.
. . .
Three sets of paws walked out from the shielded alley and into the rainy night. Her mission now was to make it back to the station; headquarters would like these two filthy rats. She smiled, imagining the praise she would get from her master, the thrill of having gotten more then the regular share this time. Her thoughts drifted lazily about, she couldn’t help but frown sullenly when she looked at her life.
It was pretty empty. She spent most of her time doing her master’s dirty work and laying about when there was no duty for her to perform. Yumi mentally shook her head. No, don’t get it wrong, the dirty work was pretty enjoyable in a certain perspective. Yumi personally loved skirmishes on the streets rather than to check to see if anyone failed to pay up the headquarter shares. She hated that job. It wasn’t that interesting.
Tonight was anyway. It made her fur bristle as she replayed the current events.
The faint splashes and noises of the night awoke her from her reverie, and she sighed audibly, nearly scaring the two kits right out of their fur. Clover fell into a rain puddle and reemerged even more soaked then before—if possible. Violet pulled her sister upright and together they scrambled back to their place behind Yumi’s haunches. “Keep up, scraps,” Yumi hissed, sickened at their ungraceful behavior. “You're she-cats, get a grip on yourselves. Do you want me to kill you now?” She threatened.
Violet squeaked in alarm and Clover shook her head vigorously.
Yumi growled in annoyance and picked up the pace, the rain was coming harder now and was chilling her bones; headquarters wasn’t that far now, was it? Just then, Yumi felt her stomach drop when she saw a lone figure. “Wanderer,” Yumi breathed, a smirk curling the corner of her lips. “Good, now I can take you straight to my master,” She spat over her shoulder, her voice barely holding the excitement she felt. The kits whimpered.
Yumi lived for Wanderer. Their relationship was very odd though. They were nearly sisters; they were so close to one another. Though, the orange feline’s mindset was slightly different. She saw Wanderer as everything she wanted to be, though Wanderer didn’t have the same urge to fight as Yumi herself did. It was strange, Wanderer’s thoughts were so advanced and beyond any normal feline’s. Yumi never dreamed of intelligence, though she did know it was very important to headquarters and such.
Wanderer and herself invented headquarters. Currently it was a she-cat gang that nearly ran the entire city. It checked every small cat family and made sure they paid their toll of prey to its operators. Even so, all she-cats there are vitally important. It showed their independence, their power, and their strength. They were a great force and showed domination over all else. They were everything that could possibly be in an organization.
Though, they knew nothing of their secret competitors. The Clans.
Yumi came forward at a brisker walk, the kits tumbling along after her, and with a purr, she gently rubbed her head against Wanderer’s. In a voice nearly below a whisper, she cooed, “Wandi, I’ve brought them from Lily’s. She was being difficult, and it happened to end badly on her half.” Yumi waited patiently for the praise, for Wanderer’s lovely voice to fill her ears with joy. That kept her going at what she did.
But why exactly did Yumi do this? After she accidently murdered another feline long ago, she knew then that she was going to hell, so why not live it up before it happened? It was a simple answer, but not as simple as what she did when at work.
And so, with a heart swelling in pride, Yumi leaned forward and bumped the kits toward her master, ignoring their tiny mewls of fear. “Introducing Violet and Clover,” she purred, glancing over at both black kits with contempt in her bright green eyes. They were either finished, or were going to join headquarters against their will.
It’d be interesting.

BECAUSE i' mforever!a - - wanderer The feline's ears were alerted by the sound of a melodic, smooth voice that she recognized as belonging to only one other: Yumi. A smirk flickered across her strikingly cold face as she took a step out of the shadows, allowing a streak of moonlight to split her coat in various shades of lighting. If she felt any surprise at the fact that her subordinate was presenting her with two cats instead of the inquired for one, none was betrayed upon her face. Instead, she felt herself being rather pleased.
"Hello, Pumpkin," she murmured, addressing Yumi. Her eyes glimmered with the alternating light thrown upon her as she advanced forward two more paces. "I see you've brought back more than my due request. My thanks," she remarked, knowing that these words would most likely sustain Yumi for now, as she knew that she had the she-cat in her grasp. It was just too easy.
"And well, well, well, what do we have here?" she purred, her voice dripping with amusement and a tone that suggested she had power, and that she knew quite well that she had it. "Violet and Clover..." As she said this, she approached even closer to the two young felines. "Such interesting names, so benevolent, so carefree, so..." She trailed off here, creating a note of silence and suspense. "Violet and Clover," she repeated, and as she said each time slowly, she brushed the heads of both with a fleeting touch of her tail.
"I'd like you two to know that I'm not going to hurt you unless it's necessary. So, I'd like to request on your behalf that you don't make it necessary," she began. She paused momentarily, allowing for the message to sink in. "All I ask of you is to join with us, join with our band of she-cats. We are of an elite group of felines, felines that need nothing from others, and can survive on their own. It is a simple life, and a life that cherishes every individual that is needed in order to preserve such an existance." Every single word of what she spoke was true, in one way or another. She had worded her small speech in a way that loopholes for her own excuses and reasons could be slipped in. But no one needed to know that. Not yet, anyway.
"So, my dears," she said, her tone of voice enticing and adapting a motherly tone in order to cope for the recent lose of their mother. "What do you say?

Yumi ♥ heart breaker
Yumi felt her heart flutter in happiness as Wonderer thanked her, and instead of acting all affectionate again -- even if she really wanted to -- the orange feline tipped her head to the side to view the kits again. Disgusting. They squirmed and mewled with fear, their eyes round as they stared up at her mistress. Yumi's tail curved in long arcs and she smiled cruelly, through the thick rain her eyes glowed like two emerald orbs; the emotion they held was nothing but her own pleased selfishness. There was no pity, least of all sympathy.
Violet and Clover shuddered but continued to stare up and then, ever so slowly, they turned their heads to look at each other. Yumi watched the pain, horror, and anguish seized their puny faces-- and then they nodded in assent. So they were joining? Yumi adverted her eyes to Wanderer and leaned in to whisper, her voice only a low croon, "Wandi, love, do you honestly think they can..." She paused to give an aggressive glance at the kits, "... make it through? They are Lily's after all." She nearly snorted at the name.
Lily was a rather puny she-cat, she'd get pushed around a lot and stepped on-- but if you harmed her family she'd really get pissed. Yumi and Wanderer were the only ones that truly scared that mangy rubbish-ball enough for her to beg "not-guilty." Oh, you're really guilty now, huh, Lily? Are you wishing that you followed my advice? Yumi thought, internally grinning in triumph. Your kits made wonderful gifts, the thought beamed.
After a moment, Yumi's eyes refocused when she heard one of the kit's voices -- Clover's -- rise up. "Miss Wanderer... will we like t-this place?" She stuttered, her eyes wide. Violet nodded a little, indicating she'd like to know too. Yumi very nearly crowed hell yeah! but she sucked it in and waited for her mistress to speak, her respect coming first this time.
As disgusting as they were, these she-kits were a valuable source for headquaters... and as much as she hated their mother, she knew they needed them. Wanderer's answer was sure to be a yes. Besides, these kits would probably be placed in the medical unit, a place where they would get stronger and healthier-- how could headquaters possibly look weak? Their cats had to stay strong somehow! Yumi sniffed, her voice disgruntled, "I won't like it."

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer A period of silence ensued as the she-cat continued pacing around the small felines. She was contemplating, thinking, wondering, wishing. Various ideas ran through her mind, calculating and determining issues as quickly as she could without making an error. After a while, however, she managed to shove this thinking to the depths of her subconsciousness in order to speak aloud.
"They're young, Pumpkin. The younger the better; it's easier to undo any habits that might appeal as... unsatisfactory," she drawled in a nonchalant manner. "They can relearn what they need, and I have a feeling that it shall be enough to strengthen them." Her voice cut from the air while she paused to run her tongue across a length of fur that was tarnished by a streak of dirt.
"Lily's blood within them is of no importance--good blood, bad blood, it all runs the same. It's red, and it pumps through our veins. It is a vital substance to our very being, but that it is and nothing more," she mused aloud, her words adapting an air of containing a trove of knowledge. "There is no direct effect upon our personalities, our natures."
The city lights winked and sputtered out one by one, while others flickered on with a new, revived life. It was this time when those two-legged humans changed; the time where their inner thoughts and emotions were exposed. They roamed and they laughed, they talked and they rendezvoused. It was of her interest to watch these behaviors, and as light refracted in her olive toned eyes, a twitch of a cat's smile touched upon her.
Her ears flicked when she heard the timid voice of one of the felines. She turned her gaze upon the cat, and her face turned in to one of kindness and generousity. "Of course, darlings. You'll love it." She gave no further details, instead waiting for the response as she turned her eyes back to the heart of the city.
A brisk gust of wind rushed past, and she shivered pleasantly, if such a thing was possible. She liked winter; it was a cold, hard season that took pity on none. Those engulfed in it had to be top notch and superior in order to keep up and survove, and seemingly so, winter was a season that was synonymous with everything she was.
Turning her head to look over her shoulder, she murmured, "Well, shall we get going?"

Yumi ♥ i love this record baby
Yumi blinked as she listened to Wanderer speak, and then she replied in amusement, "Hey, Wandi, I didn't ask for a speech, 'kay?" She purred and then twirled away, raindrops flicking off of her orange fur, and then she began to strut down the street. Wanderer always seemed to go on a bit much; but, hey, it was helpful sometimes. Others it was like shut up! Even so, she still loved Wandi. "C'mon, kitties," She called over her shoulder in a sweet voice, her green eyes glinting as she did so. Clover and Violet crouched down and shuddered before slowly stalking forward, their paws making little splats as they went.
The feline gritted her teeth and resisted snarling a comment. How dare they act so... disgraceful! They needed to walk with dignity! She-cats didn't drag their tails or walk with such noise! She swallowed her frustration and lowered her head slightly; Yumi inhaled deeply and blinked away the drops of water gathering on her lashes. They're just damn kits! Cool it, Yumi! She told herself. She lifted her eyes and straightened her posture.
"I swear, it's like this path gets longer every time!" She commented, flicking her ears of rain. Yumi was never exactly the patient feline of the bunch.

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer The feline felt her patience being tested as Yumi's words, but she simply flicked the feeling of a prick of annoyance out of her mind; she had no time for things silly and petty--she was beyond that. Far, far beyond that. She didn't let things like that get to her--for the most part, anyway.
She padded along as quickly as possible, for she wasn't exactly a fan of the rain. Her paws stepped lightly for want of not getting them muddy, and she carried her tail above the ground as well. It was not a long walk, although it certainly wasn't an easy walk. She led the group over rough concrete sidewalks and slippery grass, careful not to lose her footing.
The path she led them commenced in a civilized neighborhood which gradually succumbed to shadows and rubble and ruin. After a while, the she-cat paused and looked over her shoulder to assert authority and to see if they were following. "We're not far from it now," she told them. The lights had faded behind them, and the dark now descended upon the four of them.
She, for one, was not afraid in the least bit. She was used to this, and her eyes were skilled at seeing through the dark. After all, she was a wanderer.
A couple more minutes trickled by, and she stopped once more at a building. It had a desolate and empty appearance, with a heavy, earthy scent spilling from its interior. Rotting wood and crumbled pieces of cement were strewn about the area, and there was nothing about the place that looked friendly at all. To Wanderer, however, this was home.
"Welcome home, darlings," she murmured, her words splitting through the gently falling raindrops. Slipping through a small opening in the side of a wall that was covered with a curtain of ivy, she beckoned with her tail for the others to follow. Inside, she was greeted by the familiar site of what she was going to use as a convening point for her group of she-cats. During daylight hours, it did happen to look rather nice, but at the present moment, it had a damp and rather unwelcoming feel. Wanderer acknowledged this, and that was why she proceeded through this room as quickly as possible.
"This room is where we assemble together for words to share with the whole of the population, for the good of the population," she described briefly, keeping at a brisk pace. She slipped through another frail ivy curtain barrier in to another room to the right, making sure that they were still following her. "This is where our fighters stay. They are more concerned with raids and attacks upon others--but we only do that when it is absolutely... necessary." Her words flowed easily from her tongue, and she appeared quite at ease describing the functions of her soon to be network. "Fighters, when not on a mission, are given the job of hunters--huntresses, if you will. Their job is simple. They are to bring back as much food to support everyone."
Looking back on the two new additions to her crew, she realized that they were probably not taking much of this new information in, as they were mostly likely scared, and were probably tired. Noting this fact, she decided to do a quick, abridged version of the rest of the floor. "I will summarize the rest of the floor; to the north of this room is the medicinal ward, where patients of the medical felines are kept. The medicals have a room directly to the right of that, where they rest and keep an attentive eye upon those they are treating."
She halted her flow of words in order to let this new information sink in as well. Allowing the silence to fill the air for a period of time, she then continued on. "To the right of the board for the fighters is their counterparts--guards. Though both fighters and guards are trained equally in their skills, guards remain close with the group, defending rather than leading raids and the like. Occasionally, however, the forces of both fighters and guards will join together in order to increase numbers for a specific task."
Done giving a brief tour of the bottom floor, she proceeded through in to the guard room, and then padded through a large doorway in the upper right side of the place, her tail brushing alongside the wall and picking up various flakes of white paint. She hopped up on to a ledge--which, in true life, was a stair. It was truthfully a staircase, as this was an actual building, but she, with her feline mind, had deduced it simply down to ledges that simply led up to another floor.
"This is the staircase to the second floor, as you can see. The second floor has many uses--for example, this room--" She paused here to veer off to the left and enter a spacious area with faint markings of past floral designs tattooing the walls. "--is where you novices shall stay." This was one of the kinder looking places in the building; there were already a couple nests of grasses and mosses established, and during the day, light streamed in through the rather dusty windows covered with clear material that she was not exactly sure what to call. "This may seem rather large for just the few novices we have, but this place is also used for rooming all cats in the case of our lower levels being flooded through should such a thing happen."
Satisfied, she ducked out of the room and opened her mouth once more to finish. "Across from the novice room are the quarters of Yumi and I. And that, darlings, is everything. We do have a few extra rooms scattered around that are used for things such as training--do not enter any of those rooms unless with permission from a higher ranking feline." Her words cut off here, offering a morbid sense of feeling in order to ensure that these new cats would not attempt to enter a room they were not familiar with.
"Well, loves, you've had a long night, if I may presume. I assume that you'd like to sleep--codes and morals and ethics may wait until tomorrow. Choose any bed you wish; everything looks better bathed in the morning light." With that, she sat on her haunches, waiting for Clover and Violet to assume their positions.

Yumi ♥ livin' the life
Yumi arched her back in a delicious stretch before giving Wanderer a slight nod, and then she trotted down a different pathway; the she-cat really didn't want to learn about something she supported creating. Her pawsteps fell lightly onto the split wooden flooring, over the blades of grass growing through, and along the openings to the units as she went. Her green eyes narrowed when one particular cat didn't bow, but the feline's eyes widened in dismay after realizing her mistake. She uttered a shaky apology before dipping her head and staying in the position until Yumi's presence was no longer there. As the orange leader rounded a corner, she heard the follower release a trembling breath of relief.
Yumi chuckled under her breath. Oh, they were trained well.
A few more short moments passed before she slipped onward and stealthily to the hunting party, she exchanged a brief word with them, and gingerly leaned forward to take up a plump rat. Yumi turned around and made her way back down the hall, her tail waving in leisure behind her; her eyes shimmered from the reflections of the transparent rocks.
The rat, unlike many other, was hunted near the park. It wasn't disgusting as most prey in these parts, and besides, how could she treat the new arrivals with something they would think of with disdain? Now that they were officially a part of Head Quarters, Yumi and Wanderer needed them healthy. She reached them as just her other half was finishing.
"Well, loves, you've had a long night, if I may presume. I assume that you'd like to sleep--codes and morals and ethics may wait until tomorrow. Choose any bed you wish; everything looks better bathed in the morning light." Wanderer sat on her haunches.
Yumi stopped silently in front of the kits and nudged them with her nose, she could feel their ribs through their fur. Lily sure was a weak cat, shouldn't she have known to feed her kits first? The orange she-cat pulled her muzzle away from their pelts and eyed them critically; her green flint eyes flowing slowly over each part of their black frames. Clover and Violet seemed to notice that they were being calculated since they stood completely still... although their fear scent was reeking insanely. Yumi internally laughed.
The feline turned her head to Wanderer after she finished viewing the additions, "The Medicals should take a look at them, they're underfed and need bathing." Even if she was just stating the fact, buried inside was a subtle searching assent-- Yumi knew very well that Wanderer and herself had to agree on everything. She straightened her shoulders, and gently pawed the rat toward the two. Her whiskers twitched once seeing that the prey was even bigger than the kits themselves; wow, just wow.
"This is your first meal," She explained, "And a welcoming to Head Quarters. We will treat you well with shelter, places to sleep, company, and full bellies. However, we expect that in return you show loyalty and you respect us." Yumi paused before adding, "That means that you must never betray us." Her voice was utterly serious as of her expression.
The kits nodded vigorously before they began to gnaw and devour the rat. "T-thank you, Miss Wanderer and Yumi," they mewed in unison, eyes round.

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer She turned a quarter of a circle to the right, half of her face silhouetted against the darkness and shadows. She noted Yumi's words, and saw the sense in them. "Very well. Let the Medicals check upon them once they are done consuming their meal," she murmured, giving her assent to Yumi's suggestion.
Her olive eyes gleamed with broken light; her eyes screamed with the hidden night. She watched Clover and Violet eat, their movements timid. She couldn't blame them. After all they had been through tonight, they were most likely daunted by everything surrounding them. Well, this place was intimidating--it lodged fear in to some. For her, it was inspiration, and the clear picture of her success. It was everything she had dared to dream and hope for--it was hers.
A sense of pride fluttered in her chest, with wings like a spring butterfly delicately brushing against the air to produce flight. She was careful to push this feeling of self accomplishment down, however, because she knew that once she got too content with what she had, she would lose her thirst to strive for more, for better.
"May I request, Yumi, that you escort Clover and Violet to the Medicals, and then may I also ask that you return them to their respective sleeping quarters," she said. Although her words were in a question form, they were put in a pleasant tone with a demand lurking in its depths. "Then, Yumi, I'd like to see you in my own room in order to discuss a few issues on hand." With that, Wanderer nodded toward Clover and Violet and disappeared quietly in to her own space.

Yumi ♥ livin' the life
Yumi flicked her tail in acknowledgment to Wanderer's voice; her green eyes glinting with interest at the final part. Discussion was one of her favorite things to do, even if analyzing and solving wasn't one of her absolute strongest points; often she'd get puzzled by Wanderer's choice of words. It wasn't that she was stupid, Yumi just had the tendency to not know the long and tedious speech that fluidly came from her partner. She was the one that got her paws dirty when it came the time, that involved nothing more than advanced predicting and instinct.
The orange she-cat watched as Wanderer padded away, her graceful figure disappearing into the comforting shadows of Head Quarters. Yumi's ears flicked and she nearly snorted in contempt. Why did she have to take care of the scraps? Didn't they have cats to do that? Yumi huffed impatiently and shifted her narrowed gaze to the kits; then, rather abruptly, she blinked in surprise. Nothing was left of the rat but the thin skeleton and worm-like tail. "Well done," She murmured, and with a hesitated start, she let a bit of contentment enter her pine-green orbs.
The kits seemed to like that and stood up immediately, although the fear scent that clung to their fur was very evident.
"Tawny," Yumi called, her tail lashing.
There was the bustle of movement and a semi-fluffy golden she-cat slipped delicately out of the Medical unit, trotting forward. She lowered her head to Yumi and pricked her ears curiously, her bright lilac eyes glowing in the dark.
Yumi smiled for a brief second; but only did so because of the stupid kits wiggling to her left. She had to act kind or they would drown in terror and go scampering into the unknown. "Take these into your unit and care for them under supervision. If they are fit enough, take them to the younger section where the novices sleep. However, I already fed them so they need something smaller to satisfy their hungry later."
Tawny dipped her head again, "Of course, I'd be obligated." Yumi watched as the kind Medical led the kits away from her and into the unit. She waited a moment more until their annoyingly squeaky voices disappeared, and then she turned and made her way down a calmer, quieter hall. Yumi murmured a greeting to the Novices before heading to the unit just a few pawsteps after that.
Yumi slipped silently through the hole leading to their nest and was greeted with a private pile of prey and moss, feathers, and fresh grass layering the entire floor. She smiled and breathed in the scents before padding toward the dark shape awaiting her inside. "Oh, Wandi," She breathed, sitting beside the other and tilting her head to look through the two transparent rocks mounted to the wall. There they could see rain splattering helplessly and the bruised purple clouds rolling by. "This always happened to be my favorite time of day."
And so, Yumi turned and flopped into a pile of moss from the park and feathers. She sprawled out and let out a content purr. Her aching paws felt better at once.

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer She raised her head and flicked her ears in acknowledgement of the entrance of her highest ranking subordinate. "Pumpkin," she murmured softly, meanwhile rolling over on to her back and stretching her limbs in a comfortable manner. She was nestled in a relatively comfortable nest of her own collection of soft objects collected from various locations. "It is rather lovely, isn't it?" she added quietly in a light answer to Yumi's words.
Her lids slid over her eyes lightly, giving her the aura of someone resting and not wishing to be disturbed, of someone who was up there and untouchable. It was rather haughty, really, but she managed to convey the message as simply someone who was contemplating deeper issues. When she opened her eyes again, she focused intently upon Yumi. "You and I have many topics to discuss, Pumpkin," she began in a rather ominous, whispery tone. Her voice strengthened and got louder when she continued, as she eventually returned from her thoughts.
"I'll outline everything to start. First, provisions are rather scarce, as they always are during leaf-bare. Subsequently, the moral of our cats is slipping. Our lives are, for lack of a better term, boring. We have no drive to feed our desires; in fact, most of us have no desires to begin with." Her words rushed through the air, her tone still hardly above a whisper. "I believe that it is time for us to act out, for us to do something outside of the normality that is us." She paused here for an effect, whatever it was.
"I hear rumors slipping through cracks of those walls enclosing those house cats--rumors of wild cats, cats who group together like us and live in clans. It is from these words that I suggest for some of us to seek out these clans, to gain as much information--secretly, of course." With that, she rolled on to her right side, still gazing with the intensity of her eyes. "If anything, we may receive a douse of adrenaline."

Yumi ♥ livin' the life
Yumi nestled deeper into her mossy mountain and let out a light sigh, her eyes zeroing in on her mistress through hooded lids. "You and I have many things to discuss, Pumpkin," Wanderer's voice rang ominously, but when her nickname slipped out Yumi lolled her head again. Only when a crisis happened would they ever call the other by their official Head Quarter names. She flicked her tail and rolled to a sitting position, and with her ears pricked forward, she began to groom herself.
Her tongue worked busily as Wanderer spoke, but she hiccuped and gasped in surprise once realizing what the other was saying. "Wandi, I understand your need to conquer more of this land but venturing in to the forest?" She shook her head, "That's mad!" She spit into the corner and stood up, subconsciously she began to pace the floor, "It would be incredibly risky to ever consider ways to reach those kittypet tales! Cats who eat bones and get as large as badgers when they're angry? That's probably a bunch of rubbish lies!"
She growled to herself; slightly in puzzlement and the other in anticipation.
She paused to gaze up at Wanderer, her green eyes like hard emeralds, "They could be just like us." Her voice rang into the silence, pierced through the minds, and delved itself into their hearts. The only exception for the "wildcats" would be that they allowed tomcats. "Those wretched toms probably enforce their kit-ish numbers-- if they even exist, that is."
The she-cat liked city toms, don't get that wrong. She had her fun in her free time.
Yumi didn't mean to sound so opposing to the idea, but it was strange. They had no idea about the land beyond the city; they didn't know about the two giant number of cats, they didn't know about borders, and they definitely didn't know they weren't invited. "It would be too... too..." Her voice trailed away.

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer She listened to the other's words with a thoughtful air of expression surrounding her. She saw the logic in Yumi's words and saw how it formed a seamless wave of intelligence, but Wanderer was determined to, for lack of a better way to put it, form a higher version of that seamless wave. She wanted to step out of this box, this bubble with its boundaries that they had somehow created for themselves.
"You are correct, Yumi," she remarked once the feline had finished, strategically using Yumi's name in order to show that yes, what she had to offer was valued and important to Wanderer. "What I am speaking about, however, is the fact that we are too content with what we have, too happy to just sit back and be lazy and let life pass us by. We must seek out opportunities, we must lengthen our horizons, broaden our spectrums." Her words came out swiftly, and she had to slow herself down--she was getting too excited, and this therefore had a direct effect upon her speaking agility.
"If we seek out felines out in the forest, worse comes to worse, there are actually none, and we have scouted the forest. This may seem like a waste of time, but scouting out the forest is perfect--we may need it in the future, should we ever need to take sanctuary within its area. You never know what might happen to this building, and we should always be prepared for the worst." She stopped here and let out a deep breath in order to clear her mind for more thoughts. Opening her eyes just a crack, she stared up at the dark abyss over her head. However, she knew that in the distance, somewhere out there, the sun was beginning to stretch its rays to the land.
"If we have a bit more luck, and rumors flitting about those whitewashed walls are actually true, we may find these famed felines. If they have she-cats, then we may welcome them in to our ranks, if they are agreeable. Then again, they may have toms to watch over them--no matter. City toms may be fun, but if those toms are fierce enough to survive..." She trailed off here, a smile curving at her maw as a malicious purr trickled out of her vocal chords. "...Then they will be excellent to fool with mind games and the like."
She stopped abruptly again before snaking in a closing statement that would have its reverberations in one's head. "Just think about it."

Yumi ♥ livin' the life
After all that finally uttered from Wanderer's muzzle, including her full name, she knew she was defeated in the argument. Yumi tipped her head to gaze out through the transparent rock, she watched as the rain fell less heavily now and small blue patches made their way through the grays and purples. The sky seemed to have agreed.
She let out a light sigh, "You make a reasonable side... Wanderer." The name felt raw on her tongue and she nearly flinched-- how often did she ever say that name? It felt foreign and harsh, yet oddly intelligent and left a root in Yumi's mind. Flicking her tail, she turned gracefully and padded forward to the rock. She bounced up to its ledge and gazed outside, her expression mixed. "A new era is sure to begin," she crooned softly.
Yumi lifted a paw and turned it over, she unsheathed her claws and saw dried blood on the underside. The rain hadn't washed it totally away. The orange feline's claws slowly retreated and she gingerly set it down. Being head of the fighting unit, she felt anticipation course through her veins and her green eyes became cold and cruel. "We shall hunt down some of those worthless kittypets and demand answers. If they wish not to talk," She smiled, "My unit could prompt them." She said with mock innocence.
She turned her head away from the rock and gazed down at Wanderer, her ears pricked. "We need to select a member of each unit, Wandi." Her insides relaxed slightly as the name fluidly came from her lips, "They are to be of the elate. The group shall follow the kittypets and report back with information. We can add or replace some of the members and send them out to stealthily scour the land-- undetected."
Yumi paused and grinned, her eyes glinting, "Except for one."
The spy. The one that would, if they existed, flood smoothly into the wildcats' grasp and nestle into them. Deceiving them. Betraying them.
"What do you think of that?" She asked devilishly.

BECAUSE
i' mforever!a - - wanderer She thought over these words carefully, and again saw the logic in them. "Your thoughts are flawless," she murmured with an appreciative smirk creasing her maw. "Very well. We shall choose cats among the elite, as you stated, and I feel that they should be the only ones bearing this classified information of the infiltration of these forest cats."
The more she contemplated over it, the more she liked it. "But, of course, we must decide who exactly that one cat must be," she said suddenly, the words hanging in the air as she went through her mind in order to see if she could deem any one of her cats in to a position as crucial as that one. They had to be quick and cunning, had to be able to think on their feet and to lie with a smooth, honeyed tongue. There were many qualifications involved in something like this, and Wanderer wanted to make sure the perfect feline was involved in something like this. "Any ideas, hun?"
