Seeing that he was scaring her, Maplestar kept his fur flat as he heard her comment, although his tail was slightly bushier than usual. Not even seeing Battooth trip and fall head-first into the fresh-kill pile made him smile. "I know we look alike," Maplestar meowed. "But that means absolutely nothing at all. It's not as if two cats can't look alike, right? There are plenty of tabbys in this forest. What makes him special?" Maplestar refused to believe anything anyone said about he and Bear being related.

"But think about it," Crystalrose meowed, coming to her senses that she had to convince Maplestar to believe that Bear was his father or the tomcat leader would forever lose his kin, "you even told me earlier today that a strange she-cat from StarClan that had SkyClan spoke to you in your dreams." She knew that Maplestar was rather touchy about this subject about his ancestry, but Crystalrose had to speak about it to him, at least for Ivorywing's sake if not for Maplestar's own sake.
"It's strange how the puzzle pieces fit together; if that were your mother whom you saw in your dream and Bear claims to be your father... Well, then doesn't it seem like the most probable answer that you're related to Bear?" Crystalrose murmured softly. "You yourself said that you didn't know anything about your parents; maybe this is the answer."

Maplestar shook his head. "If a cat can't raise me," he growled darkly, "They're not my parents. Whether Lilypelt comes to me or not, she's not my mother, and whether Bear fathered me or not, he's not my father. As far as I'm concerned, the only mother I've ever needed was the one who raised me." He glanced across the clearing towards where Lilypelt's den was. "I wonder if we should've even taken him in..." Maplestar's eyes glinted with hostility as he returned his attention vaguely to Crystalrose.

Crystalrose met Maplestar's blue gaze evenly with her own chocolate brown gaze, but again shifted rather uncomfortably as she caught a glimpse of the hostility in Maplestar's eyes. "You're confused, aren't you?" Crystalrose murmured softly. Silently, she reprimanded herself. How could she provoke another EarthClan cat, not to mention the leader of the Clan. Solemnly, Crystalrose awaited the brown tabby tomcat's answer. There were only two possible ways this current situation would turn out; Maplestar would get the slightest hint that maybe he was kin to Bear, or he would never believe.

Shatterwind entered EarthClan Camp, a light of hatred still in his icy blue eyes as he thought over the events he had just experienced. How could Moonwind defend Amaryllis and tell him not to kill her, after everything she had done to him in the past? Ashbreeze was dead and Shatterwind had spent many moons mourning over the loss of his friend... Thanks to the orange tabby she-cat that was still living in this world, although she didn't deserve it.
Anger burned in his eyes. Shatterwind's eyes, however, didn't "blaze" when they were angry. Instead, they remained cold as if they were chips of ice. His eyes, when angry, were quite effective all the same, portraying a very clear picture of his current mood when he moved around and went to wherever.

Maplestar spluttered, trying to find the right words. "I am not confused!" he finally managed to meow. "D'you know what it's like to know that your parents dropped you off in another Clan? Do you know what it's like to know that you have brothers and sisters in a place you can't go? They left me here when they raised their family in SkyClan! They couldn't have cared about me much to leave their son to a random nursing queen!" He stopped, breathing hard from his tirade, his eyes wide and slightly unfocused.

"Maplestar," Crystalrose began, using the tomcat's name, "you can say all you want about your parents -- they were foolish, they were unsensitive -- but they truly did care for you." She paused for a moment, trying to think of the correct words to say. "Lilypelt decided to walk from StarClan in your dreams. Bear tried too -- he searched for you in EarthClan territory until he finally stumbled in to the EarthClan Camp. Do you honestly believe that parents that seemingly abandoned you would come to you?" she meowed, hoping that her words had sense to Maplestar.

Padding out of the warrior's den, Raytail searched around EarthClan Camp for something to do. He felt rather odd amongst the cats, even those who had formerly been his Clanmates. No, he felt even more akward with the cats who had been his CLanmates. They all knew his story and he knew that some wouldn't willingly accept him back into EarthClan as Maplestar had just done. In every Clan's history, there had always been a few cats that would question their leader's word no matter the circumstances that could follow.
The tomcat's bright, multi-colored gaze swept through the EarthClan establishment, remembering with a sad look in his eyes the certain spots that he and Dewstripe would eat, share tongues, and the rest. His eyes clouded up with two emotions: affection for the deceased gray tabby she-cat warrior and grief for the fact that Dewstripe had gone to join the ranks of StarClan. How could he have left her for the soft life of a kittypet? How could he have left his love to go have a collar placed on his neck and the rough hands of Twolegs petting him fur and rubbing his stomach? Sure, having the attentions of the Twolegs had made him feel warm and secure, but why had he left what he already had with Dewstripe -- even more warmth and security?
"Look, Raytail. What's done is done and there's nothing you can do about it. Now you go find Maplestar and ask him if there's something useful you can do so that maybe, just maybe those Clan cats doubtful of you rejoining can stop their doubts against me," Raytail told himself firmly, looking around for the brown tabby tomcat leader of EarthClan. His multi-colored eyes soon found Maplestar speaking to Crystalrose. When he had been in EarthClan, Raytail hadn't exactly associated much with Crystalrose -- she acted just a little too royalty-like in his eyes. Maplestar, however, Raytail thought was a good leader. The tomcat leader, however, was currently looking rather... how to say it? disheveled. Confusion flickered in Raytail's eyes, but he decided not to intrude on their conversation. Still, he did want to know what they were talking about. Although shame burned in him, Raytail moved closer and pretended to walk by the two with not a care in the world. Instead, however, he was listening intently and hung on to every word they said, memorizing each word for later.

"Lightbreeze, love, go take a piece of fresh-kill and wait for me somewhere in the EarthClan Camp; I have some business to take care of," Smokeheart meowed to the pretty she-cat warrior that he felt affection for. He sent a purr in her direction, delighted to her a soft purr returned to him from her, no matter how uncertain and unsure it seemed. He watched with a loving light in his eyes as Lightbreeze padded off and picked up a thrush from the fresh-kill pile and seated herself, awaiting him.
Turning away from the sight of Lightbreeze momentarily, the smoky-black tomcat warrior looked around for the leader of EarthClan, Maplestar. His eyes found the brown tabby tomcat speaking with Crystalrose, a she-cat warrior. She's pretty, but not as pretty as Lightbreeze! Smokeheart thought to himself, a purr rising in his chest as he thought over the she-cat warrior. Even though Smokeheart wasn't exactly the most agreeable cat, he could easily see that Maplestar, his leader, wasn't rather happy-looking. Should he interrupt or no? This was surely a desperate and important matter -- Eagledance speaking to Silverpaw of SkyClan.
"Maplestar?" he asked, throwing caution to the winds as he padded up to the two cats, tilting his head to the side as he regarded the two for a few moments. He awaited his brown tabby tomcat leader's words in response. How would they sound? Tired? Overjoyed? Frustrated? Angry?

Maplestar's glinting eyes faded and the light of hostility looked almost out. He sighed. "I guess," he meowed. After a few seconds of thought he meowed, "He can stay as long as he likes. What do I care?" The tabby leader turned away from Crystalrose to look at Smokeheart. "Yes?" he meowed. His mind spun with the pretty she-cat's words as he wondered if they did actually care, even if they had left him in the camp of a strange Clan.

Crystalrose nodded and dipped her head to her leader in a way of respect. Confusion lit her dark brown eyes, yet she decided not to say anything. If she pressed, who knew what Maplestar would do to Bear? At least she had gotten something for her efforts, yet she still battled her own emotions inside of her.
Perhaps she should speak to Ivorywing when she went to the medicine cat to report back on what happened with her conversation with Maplestar. She took a glance at the brown tabby tomcat leader over her shoulder again, seeing him speaking with Smokeheart, the smoky-black warrior that was currently completely in love with Lightbreeze. She had never liked Smokeheart much, but she hadn't made an enemy of him either.
With a slight mental sigh, Crystalrose made her way to the entrance of Ivorywing's den. "Ivorywing?" she meowed softly, saying the medicine cat's name in a question form as to ask if she could enter the den.

"You know Eagledance, the new warrior in EarthClan, of course, don't you?" Smokeheart began, practically dancing with eagerness to see his leader's rage when he heard of the news he had. He looked at his leader, anticipation almost coming too much for him to bear. Shifting his weight from one side to another, he continued waiting.
Finally, waiting became too much for him. "Well, I saw Eagledance speaking to Silverpaw of SkyClan -- on EarthClan territory! He didn't even ask Silverpaw to leave; he just acted quite civily to her and I think he's... fond of her!" he blurted out. To show that he hadn't made the whole thing up, he added with a glance towards the she-cat warrior, "Lightbreeze also saw it because she was with me!"

Moonwind strolled ino camp as calmly as he could, not bothering to look as Maplestar. He went straight to Shatterwind, and jabbed him lightly with his paw. "Look, Shatterwind, I know Amaryllis deserves to die, but if you just listed to why she did all that, I think you'll understand better. Her mother was with a controlling tom, and so her mother had Amaryllis unwillingly. She didn't want toms to just "own" he like her "father" did her mother. But it just got out of hand. I know she still deserves some more wounds, but really, how would you feel?" Moonwind met his cold gaze, his fierce and cold at the same time.

Shatterwind whipped around as he felt a jab at his side, his nose scenting a familiar scent that he had just smelled a few moments ago. "Moonwind!" he hissed, his fur bristling as he pressed his ears firmly against his head out of anger. "What're you doing here in EarthClan Camp?" he demanded. In all his words, Shatterwind barely heard Moonwind's explanation for the behavior of Amaryllis.
"Traitor," Shatterwind spat, "you say you left EarthClan to get revenge on Amaryllis -- instead you defend her?" Pure dislike shone in his eyes, but behind the angry mask, he contemplated over the explanation for Amaryllis. Her mother had unwillingly been with her father?

Maplestar stared at Smokeheart. After all the trust he had put in Eagledance he was going behind his back and meeting up with a SkyClan cat? His fur bristled for a moment before he froze. Techincally, he was half SkyClan. They couldn't be that bad, could they?
No. They were SkyClan. He was leader of EarthClan. He couldn't think things like that. "When you see Eagledance next, tell him I'd like to talk to him." His voice was low and furious. When Eagledance had joined EarthClan, Maplestar had gone a long way to trust a foriegn warrior. And now that warrior was going against the warrior code by padding after a SkyClan she-cat? Not on Maplestar's moon-cycle.
((That last bit was supposed to be like 'not on my watch' but they don't really have watches, so yeah.))

"Shatterwind, please, just think of if your mother was you mother unwillingly?" Moonwind asked Shatterwind. He looked into his eyes, his gaze burning into Shatterwind's.
