i wonder about freedom;;
A gentle gust of wind rippled the placid surface of the lake, causing small water currents to lap at the she-cat's dainty paws. One part of her mind told her to recoil away from the water while the other side of her - the more daring side - wanted to just charge in and to leave the Twolegs. Glancing back, she saw through her crystal blue eyes that the flabby-faced creatures that walked on two legs were sitting on a cloth on the ground, staring out into the lake and not paying any attention to her. Thoughts darted around in her mind like the small minnows in the lake. Finally, when she had almost made up her mind to run away at the very moment from her Twolegs, yells of delight and joy filled the air. Turning around, fear glinting in her eyes, Mai's heart stopped pounding fiercely and returned back to its regular steady beat when she realized that it was just the Twoleg kits acting wild with eagerness of dashing into the lake. "They're so clumsy and big," Mai mewed to herself quietly, although of course, Twolegs couldn't understand her language.
Another breeze sent more water lapping over her paws. Mai decided after a while that she actually enjoyed the coolness that the clear water brought her paws. Raising them up in the air for a moment, she splashed them back into the water, causing water to spray her lightly. A light purr rumbled in her throat from her vocal chords as she cooled off, although another blast of wind - this one harsher - sent her shivering slightly.
Well, after all, it was late... er... what could she call this time of year? The time of when the leaves on the trees turned red and gold and yellow and fell of the trees? "I'll call it leaf-change," the siamese cat murmured to herself, her Japanese accent slightly tinting her voice.
It was strange for a cat that had originated in Japan to be here in these unfamiliar lands, but after all, she had been taken from her mother and sold when she was a kit to some Twoleg. Along the way, she had heard stories of wild cats that lived on their own. Some had even heard the vocabulary they used. Although some of the language seemed to vulgar to her to use - such as "fresh-kill" - she had adapted the name of "Twolegs" for her owners. After all, it was a name that described them perfectly.
Stepping out of the water, Mai padded onto dry land, her paws barely making marks within the rich earth. Settling down with her sparkling azure eyes facing outwards across the lake, she rested her elegant head on top of her paws. Her tail curled around and brushed against her side lightly. She remained in that position, glancing across the lake and to the sides of the lake - places uninhabitated by "Twolegs".
I wonder about freedom.
