Silverpaw ♥ i'm coming
Heart hammering like a woodpecker, Silverpaw dashed into the meadow with her icy blue eyes filled with guilty excitement. She swallowed down her doubts and danced around a few times before Eagledance arrived-- she couldn't wait to be alone with him! The apprentice stopped abruptly and looked down at her ruffled silver fur; there was a few strands of grass and dirt clinging to it like there was no tomorrow. "Ew," Silverpaw grumbled and flushed once a certain thought entered her head. What would her tom think if he saw her like this? "That would be embarrassing," she muttered before quickly grooming herself to make sure she looked decent enough for him. As she worked she thought back to how she had gotten Bravepaw back to camp without her...
"Silverpaw! We have to get out of here!" Bravepaw said nervously.
"We are, Bravepaw. Call down! I think I might go hunting though," Silverpaw murmured thoughtfully, a smile pulling the corners of her mouth upward. Hunting. Perfect excuse.
Bravepaw's eyes glinted, "No way! Those EarthClan scum might come after you! If you're set on hunting I'm coming too." He gave her a searching look until Silverpaw met his eyes with fury. Without replying she took in a few gulps of air until she cooled. Bravepaw grimaced and said in an undertone, "Sorry but I'm worried about you. You were gone so long with that weirdo cat I thought he might have carried you off to EarthClan territory."
Silverpaw's claws dug deep into the ground and she stopped walking, her tail fluffed up slightly in her anger until she managed to calm herself enough to talk. "Bravepaw, I'm not helpless," she said coldly, "I'm not a kit anymore and you're not my mother. I'm tired of you treating me like I'm just a scrap of fur you have to save all the time." Once seeing his unhappy expression she said in the gentlest voice she could get to, "I can take care of myself without having to be helped. You have to trust me with that, okay? I'm just going to go hunting but even so," her insides tingled with guilt, "I'm happy you care enough about me to worry. I appreciate that, Bravepaw."
The gray apprentice's blue eyes were troubled as Silverpaw took a step forward and brushed his flank with her tail, "You'll be safe, won't you?" Bravepaw asked, it seemed he was struggling over the fact that he was much too overprotective.
Silverpaw smiled brightly, "Of course I will, mousebrain." She purred before turning around and bounding through the tall grasses. As she silently departed, she could feel Bravepaw's eyes burning her fur all the way until the tan grasses concealed her figure. Silverpaw breathed in and out deeply a few times before dashing on ahead to the meadow.
So here she was.
The she-cat finally stopped bouncing around and sat down with her tail curled neatly around her paws. She didn't want to seem like a four moon old kit, now did she? Silverpaw sighed softly before raising her head and gazing around at the wide meadow around her, trying to spot Eagledance. To think no one had claimed this land... It was so beautiful... Smiling, Silverpaw looked toward the sky and closed her eyes blissfully. She felt the sun soak into her body and give her higher spirits.
